  • In my previous video, I gave a brief demonstration of a recent addition to to musical instrument collection, a one-octave diatonic baritone Martinshorn, better known as a "Schalmei".
This instrument, plus my other one (a chordal baritone Martinshorn), and interesting instruments that I wanted to display. However, due to their odd shapes, they are difficult to present in any visually appealing orientation.
I realized that a great place for them "visually" would be up in front of my two large Magnepan speakers. On an off over a weekend, I got two Baritone Saxophone neck straps on order from Amazon (to harvest parts from), designed and commenced 3D printing two sets of bell dust plugs/covers, and fabricated a pair of hanger brackets made from scraps of wood in my home shop.
In this video, I show the process for each of these aspects, and how it worked out.

user-to, that is not my "collection".....it is just a few instruments from my collection that I like to show visitors, and look at when I am around the house. I own a separate building that is full of my instrument collection, and also am curator of a musical instrument museum that has the largest collection of its particular type in the world.

When I was an Fine Arts student in college, our instructor would send us to the museum and draw music instruments add other objects.
The instructor would have a list of objects for us to draw in the museum, and we would draw them to be use as reference material for the themes for that semester.
That semester theme was “A Toy Museum.” We drew cuckoo clocks, Black Forest caving, royal crest, knight armor, tapestry, military uniforms, old toys and musical instruments. (Fun times.)
Take care and see you on your next project or adventure.

I know this is off topic, but does anyone know where to get the .stl files for the serpent horn that was made on this channel a few years ago? The Bate Collection seems to have moved them offsite and none of their contact emails work.

A little bit of Google searching finds the required webpage pretty easily.
