    I am installing a bathtub frameless shower door down here in Florida. To accomplish this I reviewed several videos on UA-cam. I came across the best video, by far, that Eric posted. I had a question about drilling into a cast iron tub. I looked Eric up on line and called him. He picked up and answered my call and answered my questions!!! Thank you Eric.

    Very thorough explanation of the installation process. We watched your video five times and then put together a VIGO frameless shower door with a 48" acrylic shower pan. I the process was very similar to what you outlined. We discovered that it is best to screw the glass guides directly into the acrylic pan without using the included anchors. Also, it helps tremendously if you have a stable and plomb framework around your shower door. Many thanks and greetings!

    First off, thank you for taking the time to make this video.
    This was EXTREMELY helpful in my shower install as a DIY. The instructions given are terribly explained in the instruction manual that came with the box. I used this video step by step and was able to install everything successfully.
    Highly recommend watching this video to help you during the installation of this shower glass door.

    Great video. Apologies if I missed this in your video, but how do you disassemble rollers from the box to install them on the door?

    • @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351
      @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351  2 місяці тому

      The rollers or casters in the box come individually. 🤔 Not sure what you mean.. My apologies

    • @brentcarlsonlee
      @brentcarlsonlee 2 місяці тому +1

      What I meant was how do you take apart each roller so you can attach them to the glass. I figured it out once I ignored the directions which state to use a small hex key in the side of the roller.

    Excellent tips. I am now ready to install mine. One or two questions...Is the stationary panel carrying most of the load? I have to go through an inch of tile and cement board to get to the wall stud so I'll only have about 1/2" of the screw actually into the wood. Is that enough to support the door?

    • @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351
      @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351  Місяць тому +1

      @papakevster Great Question.. So the stationary door will rest completely on the curb. Once that is resting, then put the bar on. Check and make sure the bar is level and the door is Plumb. Then you can mark your holes to drill. The bar itself and stationary door equally hold the weight of the slider door together.
      Hope this helps my friend. Thank you for your kindness

    Great help, thank you. We’re looking to install this type of door but in a tub version. There aren’t any studs directly behind the tile and wall where the door would line up to the tub rim. Would a heavy duty flip toggle be another option for providing support or should we scrap the Vigo product idea with the weight of the doors?

    • @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351
      @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351  4 місяці тому

      I can tell you this... vigo doors need to hit stud work for sure. Not sure about the tub version but walk in shower is a must.
      I imagine the tub vigo doors would be the same. Thank you for your comment, we love helping others in there journey ❤️ 😀 😊

  • @TheFplopes

    Very nice video!! saved my live. quick question. I need to do a install similar to yours. Sliding door on the right (as your video) and fixed on the right. My question is, Can you flip things around so the door slides on the ouside? and the fixed part would be inside? not sure I explained well. different to your set up, my shower head is on the left (yours is on the right). But given the position of a toilet, I need the entrance on the right just like yours. I was thinking of flipping thinks around to help prevent water going through the 2 glasses. Thank you

      @erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351  Місяць тому +1

      @TheFplopes Thanks for the kind words my friend 🙏
      Absolutely yes you can flip it to the outside.. your center bracket would stay the same and just switch the glasses opposite of this video.. the smaller bracket close to the wall would have to move to accommodate the flip.. Hope this helps my friend... Have a great day and let us know if you have anymore questions. Also... We just uploaded another vigo door install today. 60inch opening (black framless) check it out if you can.

    • @myhousetracks
      @myhousetracks 7 днів тому +1

      I was a little confused too, and just wondering was there a reason you took an inch off, lol. It made me think maybe I needed to take an inch off of the measurement from tile to tile. sounds like I shouldn't and I should stick with that exact measurement from tile to tile, right?

      @tylermcfarland5188 1/4 inch diamond 💎 bit. I don't like the screws they provide. A little short going through curb (wall screws they give you are good though) for the curb only... I get a little l9nger screws for curb. God Bless 🙌 🙏

      @shortyfifth here in Kentucky, these doors run from 1k -1300 to buy
      Depends on color (Black, brushed nickel, ect..) I'm usually about $750 on a 5ft opening. I'm at 1k for 6ft opening.
