Impressive content, Eric Hoagland General Contractor. Looking forward to your next upload. I smashed the thumbs up button on your video. Keep up the fantastic work! Your attention to detail in aligning the tile veining is commendable. How do you determine the best approach for cutting different tile thicknesses while minimizing chipping?
@KeyserTheRedBeard First off! Bless you my friend! Thank you so very much for your kind words. Just uploaded the next one today. It's on our channel now 🙌 As far as your question goes..... We Always buy a quality Blade for our saw. We like the P4 mesh turbo / P5 mesh turbo gold. Anything ceramic 1/8-1/4 1 pass cut through. Any higher ceramic 3/8+ score it first the thicker the tile like 1/2 we would score it twice About 1/8 per score. the 3rd pass would be the 1/4 that was left. With porcelain 1/4 because it's stronger We would score it below the surface then cut it.. you can kinda see how the rest goes. Can't thank you enough, hope this helps. Be sure to check out our new one. Merry Christmas
Thanks my friend. Same to you and yours.
This man and his crew do work that is amazing. He is a great contractor.
@markzweifel4285 Thanks so much Mark! 🙏 Appreciate your kind words. Happy Holidays to you, Darla, & your family ❤️ 🌎
Looks good. Where did you get the transition strip?
Home depot is where we got it my friend. Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Super video. My door came with 3 - "door seal strips" that are shaped like "F" track for siding. Can't seem to figure out where these go and see no mention of them in your awesome video. Ideas? Necessary? Disregard I just saw them placed in Vigo video. Thanks
@rudykilgore5027 Great question! 👍 They are actually supposed to be installed on the edge of the inside glass. In the video we showed were to put on the plastic strips on both pieces of glass that touch the tile. The other 2 pieces are to be installed on the opposite ends of the glass in the middle where they pass each other. We don't like to use them. We think it makes the Finish look cheap. They are used so that water doesn't get out in the middle. To avoid water coming out in the middle just make sure both pieces of glass are crossing each other where water can't get out. Since we don't know which side your shower head is on. You want to install both glass panels so that when your water comes on it can't get in-between both pieces of glass. If you do that then there is no need for those plastic pieces. I hope you understand my explanation. Thank you for your kind words. Happy Holidays. 🌟
beautiful ❤

In europe we use metal studs for framing drywall, for corners I use a laser, thats a great trick using two levels, those digital levels are too expensive, I will buy a small one and use your trick. Thanks for the tip
Absolutely 💯 welcome friend. Happy Holidays
100% 👍 This is the fastest and overall cheapest way to plumb shower walls for remodels. It also applies to any walls and ceilings in old houses.
@@POLOLOUS3 Absolutely 💯 agree with you. Thank you. Happy Holidays
Don’t know nothing about installing tubs but definitely makes good sense
@candoallthings6748 Thank you bro Happy Holidays.
You're out at the top , seen you force it in
@andtastic1 the force is holding 2 together and keeping still. We put that multiple places on the wood and after on the go-board. This isn't our only video doing this. We strive to help others in there journey. 🙌
why do you put the digital level on top of the non-digital level to check for plumb?
Great Question 👍 because our digital level is shorter than the wall span. If we only use the digital level we are only able to Plumb 4ft. By using the 6ft level with digital on top we are able to Plumb the entire wall digital. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays
Great stuff! Thanks for teaching us to be pros
Absolutely 💯 We Love helping others in there journey
Thanks for the tip dude! Love the double level trick
Absolutely 💯 We Love helping others in there journey
Your door measures 58-inches. Instead of cutting off 2-inches you cut off 1-1/4 inches. What is the missing 3/4 inch for???
What about the top plate above the stud? Does that get packed out? That’s for the vid
@kemicalx17 go-board requires about every 6-8 inches screw & washer. There are little dots on the go-board that indicate that. It's 3 inches at the top above stud. We put some thinset on the 3 inches before we screw the go-board. Sometimes we shim depending on the depth. Great question & Thank you. Happy Holidays
Amen brother. You are one of the few that do it right. I am doing the exact same project and would hire you if I could find someone as good as you. I can't so I'll do it myself. I have lots of clamps too!

About a month ago I removed border vinyl wallpaper in my master bathroom. It was nearly impossible to get it off. 😲I've heard that they use super strong glue in bathroom areas due to the constant heavy moisture in bathrooms. The only way to get it off was with a scoring tool and a steamer; it was slow going. Even after I got it off, I tried removing the leftover glue with a vinegar and water solution. It took some of it off, but not all of it. I had to fix damage to the wall and use Zinsser Gardz clear sealer designed to seal wallpaper glue and mold/mildew sealer to seal mold/mildew where it couldn't be cleaned off. What you did here is valuable for about 95% of wallpaper with lighter adhesive, but just pray that you don't have the 5% that's nearly impossible to remove. 👍👍👍
@audiophileman7047 my man, couldn't agree more with everything you said.. we have had a ton of that 5% that your talking about. It flat out sucks.. Thank you for your feedback. Happy Holidays bro. Appreciate you 🙏
@@erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351 Sure, you bet. I wouldn't wish having to remove that super difficult wallpaper on my worst enemy. Happy holidays to you as well, sir. 👍👍👍

Very helpful video. What I’d like to see is how you lifted and positioned the glass panels in the guides attached to the curb. I didn’t see any suction cups, so I assume you lifted them by the edges and set it down vertically. The fixed panel is the one that I’m trying to figure out. The instructions indicate you need to attach the top rail before putting it in place. But it doesn’t seem like there’s enough room to put your hand on the outside edge (between the glass and the tile wall) if the upper rail is attached. And how do you get the glass vertical to avoid putting it into the bottom guide at an awkward angle and risk damaging the glass? Seems like suction cup holders would be the way to go. Advice?
To be clear, the structural rail is attached to the fixed panel before it’s lowered into position in the guides on the curb. This is what’s shown in Steps 10 and 11 of the Elan E-class instructions. Can you lift and move the panel by using the structural rail as the lifting point without potentially breaking the glass?

Awesome video. You don't know how much of a lifesaver you are. I'll be installing these doors in my bathroom soon. Would it be ideal for the wall mounting bracket to be screwed into a stud for extra support or does it not matter?
@carlmcallister5958 Fantastic Question!!! First off, Thank you for your kind words.. To answer your question, we would always recommend to secure wall brackets to a stud. These are very heavy doors. Thank you again friend, have a wonderful day..
Those 5 blades look busted already

That's a pretty interesting looking house. I'm curious about how you use masking tape when painting. If you have to put multiple coats down, how do you remove the tape to prevent it from tearing the dried paint film? Thanks! 👍👍👍
Sorry for the late response. We only use the tape to cover the lip of the baseboards so that we don't speckle them when we roll.
@@erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351 Thanks for the info.
My GF and I just did this install and I gotta say now I know why I was quoted $600 for someone else to do it. Took us several hours and had to cut the rod twice before I finally got it to fit nicely. @@erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351 Sure, you bet. Just a question for you. I was looking for the metal threshold on-line and saw something called "carpet trim". It's a 1/4 " thick and 2" wide. The one you used in the video looks bigger to me. Is it 2" wide or something else and where might I find it? Thanks.
@audiophileman7047 any home depot or lowes... in the carpet section I got an extra wide aluminum threshold It's flat and works perfectly
@@erichoaglandgeneralcontrac7351 Okay, I got it. I'll find it. I've even heard of people using thin plastic sign material to do the same thing you're doing with carpet trim, but your method is superior. Thanks for all of the help. 👍👍👍

End grain cuts aren't useful to shims
Did you had stud in back where you screw in?
Absolutely yes We measure on stud side and screw wood blocking from 68 inches to 80 inches from subfloor up to ceiling. With blocking that foot you will never have to worry about missing on the Finish. Average door height is 74. This puts you perfect after your curb
🔥🔥 🔥
@billyc5010 thanks brother! We need to hook up and eat breakfast again.
I like the profile but I don't like it being different colors.
@NoticeableNate yea, no worries.. Normally we would. Homeowner has that in her entire house and didn't want to change it. But yes Normally we would do all the same color.. Thanks for responding. Cheers 🍻
I don’t like that he’s not sharing the product he used to paint the counter top
No worries Sam!! 👍 The black paint we used was behr marquee from home depot. The color was limousine black. We painted it 2 coats. Then we applied 2 seal coats of clear table top resin very thin. That's why it looks slick black when we do the flood coat in the video. Let me know if this helps. This video was just to show off the piece. We break this down on our channel, all the details. Thanks for reaching out Sam. Have a good one!!
Sharp! 🔥
@billyc5010 thanks brother!! Hope all is well. Are you going tomorrow Susan's party?
The height of that curb is ascetically very pleasing. What height is it to the top of the stone slab? 👍
@HigherInfluence thank you my friend 🙏 that was awhile ago but, I know we used 2 2/6 screwed , then 2 pieces of Godard screwed and waterproofed . We where sitting at 4 inches with that.. Then we set our slab after. If I had to guess total about 5 inches total

Are you just leaving that final black rail siliconed to the curb, or are you actually siliconing it and fixing it permanently to the bottom of the door?
@familyguy5081 the black rail gets installed to the curb with 100% Silicone. The curb is pitched slightly towards the shower floor. Where we rest the bar in the video is our preference. We like it closer to the glass , instead of further away. It's really a splash guard so to speak because the curb is tilted water won't run out..

Did you not use the anchors for the rod?
@myhousetracks we built the entire shower from scratch, we framed the walls where the rod was going on the front side.
