I have redmagic 8 pro for almost 3 months now (preordered and it arrived in 3 days here in EU)...i never had language UI problems...everything works amazing...performance is godlike temps are great...sqare screen is so much better for media and gaming consumption especially without camera dots...i went blind and bought it with 0 hopes that it will be as it was on reviews online and i gotta say it marked everything on the list...if u dont care about cameras much and just want gaming powerhouse ull love this...0 regrets and will most likely buy redmagic 10 when it comes out
Can you get all regular apps on the phone like Google, UA-cam, insta etc ... I am not really interested in gaming just the media side and.this phone looks amazing
Most definitely with no doubt the redmagic 8 pro. Not to mention the price difference is huge. Plus the transparent version is cheaper than the ROG and it provides 16GB/512GB.
I got the Rog Phone 7. Was looking at the Red Magic 8 but heard that the OS was buggy. Not regretting getting the ROG due to better and louder speakers and better focused on audio in general through Bluetooth and wired
that's like 500 more though. didn't really like the software at first, but it's good enough, not too bad. not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. there's also an app called nova launcher. it fixes a lot of gripes I had with the phone like relocating the search bar to the bottom of the screen instead of the top. fixes a lot tbh.. you could have saved if you went Rm8 + nova launcher
Good choice. Also Rm 8pro is bad for long hours of gaming because of its squared design corners, 30 mins of gaming on it you'll start to feel pain specially in your 2 index finger. Most People just wont admit it maybe because they can't afford the rog phone 7u. There's always a reason why phones with good specs are sold for cheap prices 🙃

as a redmagic 8 pro plus user, I totally agree with your point and the charging is super hot,so hot that I need external cooling methods like a fan to use the 165w supercharge, and the battery already got 'pregnant for 3 weeks'(I can see LEDs inside through the gap...)
Cons for each phone regarding the cooling vent/fan. Redmagic 8 Pro/Pro plus : Cooling vent big as f, it's like asking for water to come into it. Especially if you are a riding and mounting your phone on your bike phone mount. Asus rog phone 7 : Require additional accessories for the cooling vent to work, else that thing is just for show and look.
Wish you had the RedMagic 8Pro Void (16+512) instead of the standard one as it will really have differences/jumps on benchmark scores which made the comparison kind unfair IMO. Also, I think you might have the Chinese ROM version of the 8Pro that's why there are Chinese characters on some of the menus.. Anyways, awesome comparison as always!
comparison should have been with the RM8 pro void or the titanium version since that's its RAM/Storage equivalent, right off the bat the RM8 pro is at a dis advantage since it has less ram and storage to the ROG phone and would definitely skew the test results in favor of the ROG.
The redmagic has better touch sampling rate and that's way more important to mobile gaming than actual refresh rate because like you said non of the mobile games out rn support more than 120hz FPS and they won't until years down the line so I would rather have 960hz touch sampling rate that the redmagic 8 pro has
The touch sample rate is meaningless when the 8Pro's touch latency is more than 1.5 times of ROG 7(26ms). Same setting while playing rythm games give me worse result with saying I press the notes too slow. Even larger latency than most of the flagship phones. Not to mention the bad holding feelings. That's the two mean reason why RM8 Pro cannot replace my Rog 6 and I sold RM8 for a Rog 7.
I used ROG 5 and had Ram dump error. I've been scared to get ROG ever since. Please tell me if ROG 6 is stable. It's a lot of money for a guy like me. I saved for a whole year to get ROG 5
I don't know where you got this from, but the Rog Phone 7 ultimate has better raw performance, and much better performance stability. Almost absolute cold when playing. Much better sound. Faster touch response, (although the touch sampling says that the Red Magic 8 pro has the advantage with its 960hz) in practice the Rog Phone 7 ultimate responds faster. Much better Asus software. The only thing really better about the Red Magic 8 pro is its screen resolution. For the rest, the Rog Phone 7 ultimate wanders alone in this "competition".
I mean, 650€ against 1000€ is quite a leap, thats like a 50% price difference and from what I've read they downgraded the sound again on the ROG 7, first they downgraded it from the 5 to the 6 and now from the 6 to the 7, and since the batteries are now both 6000mah I seriously consider the RedMagic, only problem is the fan inside, I worry that it will break after 1-2 years or cause serious problems, so not a good investment longetivity wise.

Sadly red magic doesn't have micro SD. And depending on what you play the red magic stay warm on most games but on bigger games like Fortnite and nikke on maxed out graphics it's best to get the cooler

@@abdulsalamolaide5908I had done some research myself and I think Asus Rog 7 had a better overall audio quality, but it doesn't mean RM8 audio quality is bad, It's just ROG 7 had a better overall audio quality plus In the website you can see Rog 7 had a hi-res audio sertificate + in the box I don't see it in RM8 neither the box, furthermore Rog 7 audio is tuned with Dirac Virtuo and RM8 is tuned with Dts X, tbh i don't know which one is better.
SO I just tried the both of them out with a pair of cheap JBL Earphones (T210) and I think the ROG 7 has a slight edge over the RM8 for the trained ear, and even then that margin is by a hair to my ears at least.
So what I noticed in these comments is, the only deal breaker for ROG 7 Ultimate is the price and RM 8 has alot of deal breaker; Bugs, OS, A year of software update, Hard to clean fan, and etc. I also did research in reddit regarding in this matter and they're always mentioning the same issue for RM 8. I'm not being bias here but it seems ROG 7 ultimate doesn't really have big issue unlike RM8. Some of the comments are probably just neat picking some things. I doubt they even had the luxury to try ROG 7... I'm actually choosing to buy the upcoming RM 9 pro+ or ROG 7 Ultimate... Ugh so hard to choose... Majority of people are bias towards their favorite phone...
As a ASUS Rog laptop and RedMagic user here, my choice- I'd still go for RM8Pro. The price alone is a deal breaker to some. (Currently using RM7 Pro) Advantages of RM8Pro also are: - Active cooling (no need to buy a mobile fan) - Simplistic, sexy design and bezeless gorgeous display. - RedMagic Studio, wired and wireless projection: with mapping features, console mode and no latency HRR function when plugged in gaming monitors.(otherwise, works on ordinary monitors, laptops, etc.) ROG phones only outputs display over usb-C lol - Accessories that can be used with other Android devices, not just first party based like ROGphones. On the other hand, ROG phones have the ff. advantages: - Much better cam(slight?) - Better speakers - Better accessories but, first party only and limited per ROG model.

Not worth it, it's best to upgrade every three phones or so, at least that's what I do since I have black shark to pro and now I think it's time for an upgrade
Given how the phone is made , I don't think there is a way to actually get it open without breaking your warranty. So far I've been using it for a month as a daily driver and have not had any issues nor have I heard of any from around the web.
Rog phone 6d ultimate owner here. External cooler is SO powerful but is really only for at home. I'm looking at Red magic for next phone because the built in cooling fan looks decent and it also has an optional external cooler.
I am not a fan of Asus nor RM. and i use iphone for over a decade. But i must say that on the command section seems to be a lot of Redmagic Employees trying to push adv the RM8. at least thats how it feels while i try to read the commands and get an opinion on which phone should i get. gonna ignore all the BS command and try to watch more videos and then decide.
Rm8 is lighter in comparison, and the more screen ratio you have without the thick bezels like the rog 7, but the software and speakers are superior for the rog 7, how dafuq do i choose 😂
The ROG wins immediately due to its OS and slight RAM increase as well as having an external cooler that is large enough to actually pump massive amounts of cold air into the ROG's insides while Red Magic has a smaller air fan and is relying solely on its own power which ROG already has inside. Another thing is that ROG is also more comfortable for longer gaming sessions, and the only reason Redmagic's loops were more consistent is because the ROG wasn't used at its full potential, where in other vids I see the ROG being absolutely consistent and heck it lasted 10 straight hours on maximum overdrive and it never overheated nor had its performance decreased in the slightest as opposed to Redmagic.
That is really not the case lol. 1. All rog phones since 6 has input lags. This is completly unacceptable on a gaming phone. 2. Redmagic little fan is capable of holding temperatures for multiple hours without problems. As an avid gamer i can testify. I play sometimes the whole day.
At first i prefer RM but…. When came to longevity, ROG with bulky acc cooling fan is best, because if the fan is broken, ROG can just buy new fan. But RM need to fix whole phone, why? U need to know RM fan is intact so it wont attracted dust into the inside of phone?? I still thinking 🤔 It is serious problem Hmmmmm ………

I've tried both phones and the red magic feels more well built the rog feels like a 2000 flip phone plastiky and the performance is a little better on rm8
RM looks much better in design, i hope rog can design their phone better. RM looks more mature design wise and the frame looks thinner that gives the better screen real estate.

This Rogphone is actually in fact no more powerful than a Vivo X90 Pro Plus (which is a much much more complete smartphone) or a Redmagic 8 Pro which costs much less with a better design and an edge-to-edge screen 🤔 A Redmagic 8 Pro + Gamesir X3 or GameVice Flex plus a bonus 2nd hand iPhone 13 Mini or S22 or Pixel 7, combo is actually a much better buy than this thing named Rogphone. Ps: I prefer the S23 Ultra to all the smartphones I mentioned above but even being a fan of Samsung, I must admit that the Galaxy are not really the best smartphones for hardcore gamers.
My rog phone 5s global 1.300€ is dead after 10 month. Also newer again Asus its ever very hot and dropped fps, cooling is bad, me no need on phone 10+ items. But need rlly only stable fps and work with gamepad. Asus is overpriced und have problems with cooling and motherboard. Repairs cost is how +/- new rog phone. I'm not being bias here but it seems ROG 7 ultimate doesn't really have big issue unlike RM8. Some of the comments are probably just neat picking some things. I doubt they even had the luxury to try ROG 7...
I'm actually choosing to buy the upcoming RM 9 pro+ or ROG 7 Ultimate... Ugh so hard to choose... Majority of people are bias towards their favorite phone...
If u wanna os without bugs go for Rog (I have Rog 7 and I'm Rog fan) but if u want better cooling ,design, performance go for redmagic
As a ASUS Rog laptop and RedMagic user here, my choice- I'd still go for RM8Pro. The price alone is a deal breaker to some. (Currently using RM7 Pro)
Advantages of RM8Pro also are:
- Active cooling (no need to buy a mobile fan)
- Simplistic, sexy design and bezeless gorgeous display.
- RedMagic Studio, wired and wireless projection: with mapping features, console mode and no latency HRR function when plugged in gaming monitors.(otherwise, works on ordinary monitors, laptops, etc.) ROG phones only outputs display over usb-C lol
- Accessories that can be used with other Android devices, not just first party based like ROGphones.
On the other hand, ROG phones have the ff. advantages:
- Much better cam(slight?)
- Better speakers
- Better accessories but, first party only and limited per ROG model.

As someone with rog phone. It make me disappointed how Asus really did not become so competitive with innovation. They abandoned docking mode, lock the keymapping to their abandoned dock and make their accessories proprietary. I don't think I'll buy another ROG phone when competition I saw how competition is

How do you clean the cooling fan vent In RedM 8 pro?
Given how the phone is made , I don't think there is a way to actually get it open without breaking your warranty. So far I've been using it for a month as a daily driver and have not had any issues nor have I heard of any from around the web.
I am concerned about the internal cooling of the red magic.. i would much rather have my cooling be an attachable addition.

Rog phone 6d ultimate owner here. External cooler is SO powerful but is really only for at home. I'm looking at Red magic for next phone because the built in cooling fan looks decent and it also has an optional external cooler.
I am not a fan of Asus nor RM. and i use iphone for over a decade. But i must say that on the command section seems to be a lot of Redmagic Employees trying to push adv the RM8. at least thats how it feels while i try to read the commands and get an opinion on which phone should i get. gonna ignore all the BS command and try to watch more videos and then decide.

The ROG wins immediately due to its OS and slight RAM increase as well as having an external cooler that is large enough to actually pump massive amounts of cold air into the ROG's insides while Red Magic has a smaller air fan and is relying solely on its own power which ROG already has inside.
Another thing is that ROG is also more comfortable for longer gaming sessions, and the only reason Redmagic's loops were more consistent is because the ROG wasn't used at its full potential, where in other vids I see the ROG being absolutely consistent and heck it lasted 10 straight hours on maximum overdrive and it never overheated nor had its performance decreased in the slightest as opposed to Redmagic.
That is really not the case lol.
1. All rog phones since 6 has input lags. This is completly unacceptable on a gaming phone.
2. Redmagic little fan is capable of holding temperatures for multiple hours without problems.
As an avid gamer i can testify. I play sometimes the whole day.

ROG 7 is the real beast there's an 8+256 Variant and it can still kill the Red magic which has a cheaper price but a poor OS.

At first i prefer RM but…. When came to longevity, ROG with bulky acc cooling fan is best, because if the fan is broken, ROG can just buy new fan. But RM need to fix whole phone, why? U need to know RM fan is intact so it wont attracted dust into the inside of phone??

Also people said the update didnt show up on rm and sometimes broke the software and the phone was unusable. Id rather not take the chance of that and go for a more powerful, longer lasting and reliable phone

This Rogphone is actually in fact no more powerful than a Vivo X90 Pro Plus (which is a much much more complete smartphone) or a Redmagic 8 Pro which costs much less with a better design and an edge-to-edge screen 🤔
A Redmagic 8 Pro + Gamesir X3 or GameVice Flex plus a bonus 2nd hand iPhone 13 Mini or S22 or Pixel 7, combo is actually a much better buy than this thing named Rogphone.
Ps: I prefer the S23 Ultra to all the smartphones I mentioned above but even being a fan of Samsung, I must admit that the Galaxy are not really the best smartphones for hardcore gamers.

My rog phone 5s global 1.300€ is dead after 10 month. Also newer again Asus its ever very hot and dropped fps, cooling is bad, me no need on phone 10+ items. But need rlly only stable fps and work with gamepad.
Asus is overpriced und have problems with cooling and motherboard. Repairs cost is how +/- new rog phone. I will taked in next time rm 8 pro 16/512 global and hope its don't rip after 10 months how rog phone 5s

you are using rog 6 and below model. Those device equip with snapdragon 888, snapdragon 8 gen 1 should be avoid.

The software is garbage on rm. 1 yr support and the updates are buggy and sometimes dont work. Not worth it
