  • In this episode, we show you how to create 3 reclaimed wood projects that have the potential for great profit. The first is a wall mounted towel holder we made out of the runners off of pallets. This project can be redesigned to fit more towels or less, whatever your needs are. The second is a table-top book place holder. This was made of pallet slats that we glued together. Again, this project can be changed to suit the style you like, you can make it bigger or smaller and add a platform for a coffee cup as well. The third is a beautiful herringbone serving tray. Our favorite project this week, is sure to be a big seller. As with all the projects we make, they were made of mostly pallet wood to save on costs. You can make them out of any material you wish, new or reclaimed.
    If you recreate any of our current or past projects, and want to be featured in an upcoming video, send us a picture of your project and your name to averystdesignco@outlook.com We would love to share your work with the world!

    Great job, Cheryl and Aaron! These DIY projects look incredibly useful and stylish. I especially loved the herringbone tray - it's a fantastic way to show how to make something beautiful and functional from readily available materials. Looking forward to more videos and ideas!

    New Sub here. Disabled USMC Combat Vet with a beard that is similar to yours. Not as much ink, but I know yours all tell a story. I am going to spend some time catching up on your channel. Semper Fi!

    It might be common sense to move your fingers when using a nail gun, but my guess is that every woodworker has had a few nails blowout the side of their project and lodged in their fingers/hand!
    Great projects! Thanks for always sharing with us.

    I got excited when I heard you were making a herringbone tray, I make a lot of them :) Would be fun to see another makers take on them.
    Then you surprised me a lot by using leather handles, which is one of my signature touches haha. I usually use leather handles unless commissioned to use something else.

    I was wondering if you could share more on the behind the scenes of a woodworking business. Things like how to get started, video editing, best place to get shipping and boxes….

    Nice woodworking projects as always- they look simple enough- I only have a small handful of tools- can’t afford what I would like at this time so that can make it feel overwhelming- space is an issue- neighbors that don’t like noise, etc- any tips

    • @averystreetdesignstudio
      @averystreetdesignstudio  4 місяці тому +1

      If space is an issue or neighbors, you could find a storage unit that has electricity. We started our business working out of one. The managers not only allowed it but also paid us to build things for them. Small, quiet tools like scrollsaws can work in a small space. You can't build everything with one, but there's a lot that you can. Hand tools and saws also work with limited space. Old fashioned miter boxes work great. Where there's a will, there's a way!

    I have a question. I don’t have a nail gun. Would using wooden dowels with glue be sufficient, or would I still need to add small nails or screws for the towel rack?

    • @averystreetdesignstudio
      @averystreetdesignstudio  Місяць тому

      Lots of times glue alone will hold most joints together. Dowels can work well, screws are always good too.

    How do you ship the book stand for $4 +/- ?
    I have looked at UPS and USPS, around $8-10.

    • @averystreetdesignstudio
      @averystreetdesignstudio  4 місяці тому

      We said it would sell for $30. I didn't give a shipping price because I hadn't priced it yet. $8-10 sounds about right.
