IMO, the Bodyguard 2.0 is an actual game changer for the CC market. We have now reached the minimum size and weight for 9mm Luger pistols and the market dearly needed a decent 9mm Short for deep conceal carry and pocket carry. The Bodyguard 2.0 makes 9mm Short relevant on a new level. I see this to be almost as game changing as what the P365 was and I predict S&W will be selling loads of these on the US market, but also on the international market like the Brazilian and South African civilian market where handguns are sold primarily for self defense purposes. As usual, great review with zero BS talk. Keep up the great work.
I can't explain it, but this little pistol is easier to hold onto than most micro 9's.🤷♂ S&W definitely hit it out of the park with this one. So far, my only complaint, why is 380 more expensive than 9mm?🤷♂
Yeah, I would agree with ventxret I remember probably somewhere around 10 years ago give or take that 380 was super super popular especially with the LCP, the bodyguard and the keltec but 380 really really fell off and popularity and you just did not see it much in the stores because people seemingly quit buying it. So I would say definitely supply and demand would be the reason. Love this pistol thank you guys for watching and please be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
I would think 🤔 because of 9mm firearms are more massively produced over .380, but I'm not gonna say that's the only reason, but a major one 🤔 I would guess
I originally got it as a strictly pocket carry style pistol. I picked up a Muddy River IWB holster and it has turned into my primary carry. I live in AZ, so I rarely dress in anything other than shorts and t-shirt. I’ve put over a thousand rounds through it (pushing 1500) and it’s stood up without issue. I actually shoot it better with the 10 round magazine, not sure why. I’m glad I can find more magazines, but they are pricey at the moment. I’m also glad I picked up enough 380 ammo over the last 6-7 years to not have to be searching high and low for that ammo. I haven’t needed to adjust the sights, but I did have to adjust my grip because of the shorter barrel. The 12 round magazine took many many cycles to get it to load to 12 without a loader. Thanks for the video sir.
@@TADDs101 Speer Gold Dot 90gr is my favorite out of it. I’ve also shot a bunch of: S&B 92gr FMJ PMC Bronze 90gr FMJ Fed HST 99gr JHP (2nd favorite) S&B XRG 77gr HP Underwood Xtreme Defender 69gr I like to shoot out to about 10 yards MAX. I have pushed it more, but that’s not really what this gun was designed for.
I love my Bodyguard 2.0. Right out of the box, 500 rounds of full metal jacket. 100 rounds of Hornaday critical defense. Not one hiccup. My new edc deep carry.
THIS MAY HELP EVERYBODY: The "Sergeant Major" zinc plated steel cased 95 grain (Tula) ammo shoots great in the Bodyguard 2.0, and is available pretty much every where on line and it starts out at around 25 cents a round.
Thanks for the info and yes this bodyguard 2.0 really snuck up on me too can't believe I'm wanting to pick it up, but seems like a big advancement in concealing a decent sized pistol that is light and shootable.
As surprised as I am to hear myself say this i like it a lot as well. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Thanks for the review. I have the original Bodyguard. I have checked the New Bodyguard out at the store. I will be saving my pennies for a purchase of the new version soon.
I had the original Bodyguard and hated the trigger but after much practice found that it was very accurate. I will probably purchase the new Bodyguard 2.0 soon.
I’m shocked more people haven’t mentioned it 😂😂🤣. When I was doing it there was a little voice saying bro this is the dumbest thing ever but I done it anyway lol
After owning a gen 1 9mm Shield and loving it after 2k rounds + I had to pick up the bully little brother BG2.0. Love it! It just feels so good in the hand! Amazing!
I love my gen 1 bodyguard. Never understood why people dislike it so much. Mine is great, accurate, and yes the trigger is long, but it breaks predictably at the end. Anyway, I'm going to love the new 2.0 even more!!!
Yeah bro glad I’m not the only one. That thing was completely ineffective. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
It’s my favorite pistol to carry. It’s a game changer in CCW. This will change the industry, all other manufacturers are going to have to play catch up to S&W. The low bore axis and striker fire action 0:15 make shot placement crucial with .380 and it delivers over all .380’s. DeSanntis IWB leather holster for Keltec p3at works great.
I just got one - if feels great in-hand and it shoots well. That said, the 12-round mag is very difficult to insert when fully loaded. Did you notice that?
Yes I mentioned it during the tabletop review. It hasn’t caused any problems. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I love the thinness, but wish the grip were larger from front to back. Your hand swallows it because it's so small and if you're not mindful about holding it a certain way it tends to cause your hand to shift it to the left as you squeeze
It’s tiny for sure but I have smaller fat hands so it kinda works. I ride the slide lock but in a defensive situation I don’t think it would matter. I guess it’s a trade off for being so concealable. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
You can’t compare it to the original. It’s nowhere near the same gun. Sw is really putting the burn on other companies with this one. Insane innovation
Both mags will EASILY pop in with a light push if the slide is locked back. With or without a round in the chamber, if the slide is closed, it's a firm push.
They missed a big opportunity to call this gun the “M&P Shield Mini” or the “M&P Shield 380”. This gun resembles the Shield in a tiny version, and performs like one too. The older versions were completely garbage guns, and to me it would be like Ford releasing a sleek, beautiful, fast car today & calling it a Pinto. 😂🤣😆
That last pistol, the P-938 was my last daily carry also. I really like the S&W 2.0 bodyguard.Lower bullet count is not my number one priority, its more like comfortable carry , reliability , and accuracy . That really well made NH means nothing if it’s a safe queen , and I have been carrying the 2.0 lately, I feel great with it, it has been an excellent shooter for my wife, son and daughter, but more than likely one of them will “ aquire “ and i’ll have to buy another. I loved your video, I gave it a like ad subscribe.
This is a great .380 with excellent capacity. I bet S&W comes out with a 9mm version in a year, two at the most when they see what a great seller this one is.
@@GSquaredTactical I agree, there would be a substantial increase in 'kick' and it wouldn't be for everyone but those with a strong grip and wrist should be able to handle it. The Diamondback 9mm is about the same size and is 'shootable'. Not all day or even for a couple hundred rounds but for a self defense scenario it is easily doable.
Thanks for the video, and great opening. The other day had the slide open and no magazine (this was at the range of course), so I inserted a round in the barrel and tried to close the slide, but the slide didn’t go into battery, is that normal for this firearm? But if I racked a round from the magazine and removed it the firearm would work normal.
Yes and if you keep doing that you will sadly break the ejector. I know it has probably worked with other guns but it’s a good thing it doesn’t with this so you can’t damage to ejector.
Yeah when the round is already in the chamber the front of the ejector hits the back of the round and usually will pop around it and close but this gun is to small and sprung to heavy to work like that bag I guess. However the issue is that it’s not designed to hit the round it’s designed to pull it out and I use to do it bro all the time and bent the lip of my ejectors and broker a couple. So thanks for watching
@@GSquaredTactical very good information. I had tried one time with my Glock 19 just to see if it works many years ago and I don’t even know what pushed me to try it with the BG2.0, and just being honest I was guiding the slide down and good thing I didn’t slingshot it. Be safe out there.
