I consider myself relatively up to date on China, but this is the first time I've heard / seen this Ocean Flower Island. I guess this is a one up on Dubai's Palm Island.
having lived in the US couple of years, the problem I see in the US is that their infrastructures have been built long ago, and its just too difficult for them actually take them down. Not saying that China is not having the same problem, but in general Chinese built their infrastructures relatively late, with slightly better conditions to actually improve or remove parts or the whole infrastructure if needed, at least easier compared to the US.
@@jimmyhaotran123 You don't have to take the old buildings down but you can fix the old buildings. You can build new roads, new bridges, new subway stations, new airports so on, but the US govt doesn't seem to care.

Hilton has two towers featured in the Ocean Flower Island project. This iconic American hotel brand probably put in a $1 billion on this island project. Hilton will likely earn this back 10x over the next few years. I am pretty sure there are KFC, MacDonald and other famous American brands having a piece of this island. Not to mentioned, companies that make elevators and escalators like Otis, air-condition companies like Carrier (a United Technologies company), and many American corporations will benefits from China rise. Why have I never heard of this from western media? I hear all about Paris, Tokyo etc. but this makes everything else look like a joke, yet it's literally unheard of..

The only REAL threat to Australia came from the USA was on the 13/8/2019 when the USA Foreign Policy advisor, Professor John Mearsheimar at an Australian function, told Australia that we have a choice between "Prosperity and Protection".
Professor John Mearsheimar then went on to tell Australia that they need to sacrifice Prosperity with China and seek Protection from the USA ... Australia had to choose. He explained that China is the Beast, and the Beast is USA's enemy. If Australia kept feeding the Beast, then Australia becomes enemy of the USA. He then reminded Australia to remember how the USA treats its enemies.
What's annoying is that PM Morrison responds to this by choosing to side with the USA and he begins to provoke China. In retaliation, we lose many trades with China, one of which was the Wine Industry. Australia lost 30% of it's Wine Industry trade with China. The next week the USA picked up the 30% Wine Trade with China for their own Prosperity. Mate ... New Zealand's PM Jacinda Adern will have NO party to that and refuses to play the USA political game. I, like many Australians, wish NZ's PM Adern was OUR PM.

Today the Evergrande Group announced that it will abide by the orders to tear down 39 structures on its flagship property project on Hainan Island.
Evergrande is not the only Chinese property developer engulfed by a liquidity crisis. Altogether the sector owes $19.8bn in US dollar-denominated offshore debt in the first three months of 2022, analysts at Nomura said last month. In the second quarter of this year, they must find another $18.5bn, while also meeting billions of repayments in local yuan debt.
@@Reporterfy , I might be wrong, but my guess is that the government will force Evergrande to relinquish the 39 buildings for someone else to continue the development, as Evergrande Group runs out of money. It's given only 10 days to comply to the order, so obviously it is just a way to force Evergrande to ditch its ownership, or sell them for penny on the dollar.
