Great voice great song
This was the jam in Chicago and I was Bopping still can Bop at 80 they call it Stepping "Good Times"For Usbackthen❤
my favorite song
hearing Jill Shires' teary flute throughout the song (sob)
God I love this song I've played it at least 18 times today maybe more
Good to see the GREAT Joe Pope also Robert Lee Smith, Horace Key and Al Cottle senior along with Charles Pope. They are all here
This is what I think. Al Cottle Sr. must have been Lil Redd’s birth father. I guess Al Cottle died at some point and was replaced by Lil Redd. I guess Charles raised him.
This was probably their biggest hit ever.
Got to see the Tams at a festival in Swansboro NC last fall. Joe is left us but they still put on a great show.
That voice !!!
Another great song that did not get enough playing time.
Thanks for posting...you don't find a lot featuring Joe Pope...
A voice as beautiful as Sam cooke. Joe pope had it all.
It's great! Thanks for posting!
Love 💗 this song and video of Joe and Robert, more especially Joe coming up the ramp
Great..I had only heard the Tams' Hey Girl Don't Bother Me until recently and what a great sound on loads of songs. Thanks !
Thanks for this video. Now, I can see who is donig the lead singing. Joe pope has a beautiful voice. So does Charles and little Floyd. I love the tams.
Classic Bring this Song back I am a teeny bopper but I like this Song.....Bring the Movie about the "Tams" just like you have the 5Heart Beat Movie you ahould have a Movie about the Tams......
Wow they got their name cause they wore tams
Charles and Joe so handsome, and boy can they sing, beautiful voices like Sam Cooke and Johnnie Taylor
Joe best song was Shelter and Standing in ,he was really getting now with Shelter in that video, watch it girls
I stopped being played for a fool. People think they can continue to put you down and then when they need something, they come back around, acting like they didn't do anything wrong.
the best. j Turner pc beach. dancing all nite.
Found it online.
Charles Pope died this past July. His brother, Joe, the lead singer, passed away in the '90's. I'm not sure what happened to Horace Key. I thought I read somewhere that he died years ago. I don't know who Al Cottle was, but I guess he's related to Michelle Cottle-Pope, the widow of Charles Pope. I think current singer Little Red, is somehow related to the Cottles and Popes. I'm not sure how.
Charles pope wife is Diane.
@@robertchatman5898 Were Diane Cottle-Pope and Al Cottle, a former member of the Tams married at one time?
@@djonkeyz No they’re not. Al Cottle was a member of the Tams in the 1960’s. Lil Redd is too young. The original Al Cottle replaced Floyd Ashton who was an original, going back to the 1950’s I believe. I think the older Al Cottle might have been the birth father of Lil Redd and that Charles is Lil Redd’s stepfather. I suspect Diane might have originally been married to the older Al. I don’t know when the older Al left the group. I guess he died. He was from Washington, DC, not Atlanta originally, and he reportedly served as their choreographer. The dancing of the original Tams, back when they were all young, was a sight to see. They put on the most dynamic performances.
Its from some beach film..WOW IT WASNT HORACE DOING THE DEEP VOICE. IT WAS THE OTHER SINGER. THOSE GUYS WERE COOL IM SO SAD THE BEOTHERS POPES RECENTLY PASSED ON AND HORACE AND BARITONE GUY WERE DID THEY GO! GREAT GROUP.
I think Horace died years ago. Robert Smith was the deep voice. He went on to start a rival Tams group. There are two Tams groups out there.
No one seem to know the lyrics. Well I believe it,s: what kind of fool do you think I am? You think you can go on seeing him.
Actually, I think his widow is Dianne Cottle-Pope, not Michelle.
were did you get this vidio? was it from butch lowery, i sent it to him, around 6 or 7 yrs ago.it came from a movie that BILL LOWERY put the money up for, thr is even some grand funk railroed spliced in to the movie. biily joe royal was the narrator, it was documentry on what college kids do on spring break in daytona beach. for a very long time this movie could not be found, somehow i found it, iwas a dancer in the movie . dancing to the SWINGING MEDALIONS. it was fun!
