- Tri Tenor Cymru make their entrance into the old Welsh Church in Delta Pennsylvania north of Baltimore on Sunday to participate in the Spring Gymanfa. They did a medley that grew in spirit as they went. This is the first song of the medley. The church is the home of the Rehoboth Welsh Choir. This is from a handheld Lumix camera from the audience which filled and crowded the chapel.
Wales has given the world so many wonderful voices
The most melodic nation in the world, bar none!....I say this without any fear of contradiction, and I'm a Scot!
One of the hymns I remember singing in church when I was a lad in Belfast.
The Welsh! The music masters of the world!
Learnt this hymn in my Youth, in Welsh, of course. 🏴🏴 Written by William Williams Pantycelyn.
Stunning..but no surprise these are WELSH tenors !!!!
This is my all-time favourite hymn. Thanks for uploading!
They fill the church with glorious sound!
bLUDDI YELL !! stunnig stuff ! No holding back on the power.
I only learn't recently that Welsh is spoken in PA.
Da iawn Bois😊👍
Proper audience - no knickers being thrown - proper.
Too funny. Old ladies love Tom Jones.
Wonderful - though I'm not sure where you can go from this one in the medley - reminds me when I prepared the leaflet for my dad's funeral service, I was determined that we were going to have this one "properly" - I put the repeats in brackets and let those in congregation who knew what it meant do their thing.......that was the first time I cried that day - I'm still glad that we kept this one to the end....the priest simply said....."What else could we finish this guy's sendoff with?".
:(
😁🎶❤🏴👍
Da iown
Tom Jones ! Welsh
Father , son and the spirit is the only God.
Di iawn diolch
Beautiful voices but oh my goodness, why sing it so fast? Sounds like they couldn't wait to get it finished! Sorry but it's awful.
I agree. This hymn is often rushed and I don't understand why.
Good point!
should it not be Tri Thenor Cymru?
All the welsh sites have it as Tri Tenor Cymru. The number three apparently does not cause a mutation though other numbers do.
@@griffcats the masculine form of tri as opposed to Fair is supposed to take a aspirate mutation. But I have found mutations to often be fluid.
Horrible. Listen to a Welsh rugby crowd instead.
It is a choral piece and the more voices the better if they sing like Welsh fans. This was pretty powerful in a small chapel though.
do not like it in comparison to other recordings and overall...Sung very very fast so no chance to sing any embellishements. Strict forward, brutal, loud (does not seem to be a large cathedral) and fast. For me this is not the goal of singing such piece....
It was very small chapel and recorded on a tourist camera and unedited. But live it was a tour de force when they came out and really roused they crowd
