    Yes! Another knife restoration. I love making this kind of projects!
    This rusty old knife came from a recent visit to my town sunday flea market, needless to say I paid pretty much nothing for this. I guess it's no surprise, not many would buy something in this condition right?! But I knew it had potential. Under rust, dust and bad welds the steel is nice and hard! (between 50 and 55 Rhc) We can even see a hint of a makers mark, unfortunatly incomplete, so I am not able to discover when and where it was made and for what specific use. Still cool!
    For the handle I used: stainless steel, ebony wood, white felt liners, stabilized cork and stabilized curly maple (I think it's maple, not sure).
    I just started to list some of the stuff I use for my projects in this amazon storefront:
    www.amazon.com/shop/blackbear...
    It's affiliate marketing, so if you order something from here you'll help the channel for free! Thank you!
    Here are some of the videos where I go in more details about tecniques and tools used in this video:

    Putting a dowel on the tang for an easy fit up is such a clever idea, I've watched so many knife making videos and trying to cut out a perfectly rectangular hole for the tang is always something that invariably goes wrong and takes ages. What a clever idea!!!

    • @alanbrunner4116

    • @mizinoinovermyhead.7523
      @mizinoinovermyhead.7523 4 роки тому +10

      The reason this isn't done is because its mechanically unsound. The only connection between the tang and the handle is the glue/epoxy between that dowel and the handle. Bang it a few times and that connection will break resulting in the knife handle coming free of the blade. It will either start to turn, or come flying out during use. There needed to be a set of pins through the tang to hold everything together mechanically.

      With how Google is taking things, sponsorships are really the only way for creators to earn a decent amount of money. It’s a shame, but business is business I guess.

    That handle looks amazing, but I’ve never been a big fan of leaving the pitting from the rust on the blade.

      looks cool but not wise for kitchen knives because the pits hold bacteria.

    Man, doing Raid ads must pay pretty well, seeing how everyone universally knows it's shit, but every content creator on UA-cam still does the ads

    • @numbnutz9398
      @numbnutz9398 4 роки тому

      Well with UA-cam deciding they want an ever increasing share of the add money, content providers are doing what they can to make ends meet. Pretty sure they enjoy making these inviđeo adds as much as we love watching them. Better than loosing content like this. But ya f¥ck Raid SL!
