- In this video we will take a look at the US military’s M-1936 pistol Belt. It was issued to all ranks that were issued a pistol or carbine , this pistol belt went back-and-forth with changes during the War years. We take a look at those changes in the six belts that have. These were used all through World War II Korean War and if you was even used in the Vietnam war .
Commenting for the youtube machine.
Those my Grandfather's and Uncles used in WW1 WW2 Korea and Vietnam. I was issued this M-19 Web belt and buckle in 1987-1991. It breaks and is garbage. We got the plastic black buckle it never broke! My dad used them in Vietnam. I used the plastic buckle and nylon Web bet in 1987-1991 when I was in the Marines. I used the M-12 nylon mag pouch and M-12 Nylon pistol holster. My nylon suspenders. Rook sack or butt pack. 2 M-14 nylon mag pouches, 2;M-67 canteens. K-Bar compass on suspenders. Great set up I bought the same set up when I got out in 1991. I use it hunting trapping and tracking. Hoorah! I carried a M1911A1 45 Colt ACP. Then a SIG Sauer P 45 ACP. My M-24 Sniper rifle. With my 4.5x55 mm Leapold scope.
Thanks for the information, and thank you for your service.

Wow! Great vid!
Thanks you
hello thank you for your video which helped me a lot to identify my m36 belt, mine has the markings: RMCO, 1942 and is crimped.
That’s awesome thanks for watching
Maybe when the M56 gear came out there were still M36 so they still continued to produce M36 belts but with M56 standards.
That’s possible thanks for watching
Nice video bro
Thanks
RE: the one belt with the mysterious buckle. If I am not mistaken, that buckle is a BRITISH variant of the buckle produced by the U.S. You mentioned that the belt might have been manufactured for the Greek Army. This makes sense to me as well as they did adopt a lot of U.S. AND BRITISH gear. So my guess is the some Greek quartermaster ordered these U.S. belts with British buckles as the latter buckle tended to stay fastened better than the U S. type.
You very well may be correct. thank you for your input.
Hello I have an m36 pistol belt that is od 9, it has alloy buckle with a marking and the rest is all brass, I don’t understand the period it was manufactured.
I've got a belt that has the flat keepers made from steel w/ a center rear sodder or weld point(not crimped), but the buckle is the typical alloy webbed clasp. All of the eyelets are blackened brass as normal. Interestingly, with belt laid flat and right side up as one would wear, the two lower and center eyelets have not been installed at all from the factory nor have the holes been punched for them. Any thoughts on this belt?
Belt end is steel also
Might be a transition piece using what they had to put it together
@@WebGearReview Hey there! I Appreciate your reply, and all that you do! Keep it up as us gear nerds need our analysis of all of the gear idiosyncrasies :) . I figured that is what I might have considering your research and presentation. Def a bit odd that they did not finish the eyelets on the backside, but im sure that mistakes DID happened.
good job, very informative. I just picked up at a militaria show a never issued OD7 shade pistol belt in that "smooth" webbing without the typical ribbing in the weave. It's dated 1945 and what appears to be something like "RM Inc" or "SM Inc" or "BM Inc" as the mfr. it has the ridged keepers in steel. the male - female buckles are in black alloy and the belt tip with the hook is blackened brass and the magazine pocket snap is blackened brass too. I had wondered if it was a British made belt because of the unique webbing weave, but your video seems to confirm it's a limited run US made variant.
It sounds like a very nice belt thanks for sharing your find. Thanks for watching
Good Video/Info.
nice belts i have an original unissued belt marked RMCO 41 as the only markings
Nice
Good Info !!!
Thanks for watching
I want to make an early war vietnam uniforme can i use the m36 pistol belt?
Yes I believe you could. There were still some 1936 pistol belt, being used 1964-66, but I thing a m1956 would be better, just to shut the mouth of the naysayers. I hope this helps thanks for watching
@@WebGearReview thanks
This comment is really late, but do you mind helping me clarify something? My WWII M1936 web belt is khaki colored, has flat steel keepers with no soldering and it has a blackened brass end (the end with the hook for adjustments is blackened brass) but the female side of the buckle doesn’t seem to be blackened brass and seems to be silver colored instead of brass colored underneath the blackened layer. Both of the buckle pieces are not magnetic.
I am trying to find what year my belt is from, thanks
They could’ve been replaced at some point in time
Hello, I would like to ask about pistol belt manufacturers. I have a belt with a stamp KELLBURN 44. I think it's Kellburn since its not very clear. I was only able to find 1 example online.
I’m not familiar with that maker
now i know my pistole belt war made in 1942
That’s awesome thanks for watching
I have two of those last ones
That cool thanks for watching
@@WebGearReview no problem
I have one from 1938 I think it’s pretty faded though
That’s pretty cool
Wa the 1936 belt used in Vietnam war?! Please let me know!!!
Not much, mostly the M1956 type but I am sure there were still a few m1936 used in the early years
@@WebGearReview oh good to know I was thinking that to
I have a nice m1936 belt, i don't want it.... I'm too fat wear it
Well I can’t wear any of mine either anymore
Why not
i don't know how to wear them
Just wrap it around your waist and hook the Buckle
I bought a "new old stock" M1936 pistol belt from International Military Antiques. Paid for a hand pick. Thought I got taken, as the "US" and "R.M. Co.
1943" is stamped upside down. From what I've seen on your video it's an early 1943. It's complete with brass eyelets, welded brass keepers, brass button, brass female buckle and alloy male buckle, and I can't make out what the tabs themselves are made of, but the hooks are brass. Hell the manufacturers stamp lines up with the other originals I've seen. I'd say- somebody sure made one hell of a fake, but I'm sure it's not. Other than the stamps being upside down hahahahaha!
Chance are it just got stamped upside down. Thanks for watching
You need to slow down there!
