Hey man, great video and thanks for posting! New guy question time: What vise is that? Can I use this "bug yarn"?! I've got several different colors like salmon, mottled caddis...etc...?! I'm getting better with dubbing but I'm new(er) so just wanted to run that by you...and others of course!! Thanks a lot!!
I have tied this pattern with yarn. It can definitely be done. The hardest part is getting a taper from back to front but you can do it by tapering the thread underbody up to the weight wire and then up to the bead.
You can definitely use Hare-Tron dubbing. My goto dubbing for nymphs is SLF Davy Wotton Bug Dub. It is a blend of hare and SLF Prism dubbing which makes it similar to Hare-Tron.
I’ve been killing it with this fly lately! Last outing about a dozen bows and two browns ! All on the point ! Great in high and stained water !
Note that this fly pattern is actually called Walt's Worm. It was named after the inventor Walt Young.
😂🤣😂🤣😅🤣😂
Thanks for sharing

Would Hare-Tron dubbing work here?
I believe people make them with hare-tron no problem. Full synthetic might be a bit more tricky.
