The Walt's worm is about as simple as a fly can get, but what it lacks in pizzaz, it makes up for in results.
Thanks to Mike for the additional footage and photos.

I know you mentioned it but how would you rig this? Also when your nymphing with multiple flys do you tie on the bend of the hook, the eye or off of the tag lines? Thanks guys!

Nice one guys. I think I first saw this on tightline, both of them. Holsengers too. Glad you mentioned the dubbing, I thought it looked light. I know nymph colors vary from region to region, and it doesn't apply to this worm, but for an eastern March brown dub it's very light compared to the brown of Coleman's March brown nymph or the Amber of a Catskill MB that I've seen. I can see how it resembles a caddis larva, even a crane fly larva (those are real blimps!). Amazing how these simple carrot or cigar shaped nymphs produce. Of coarse the skill level of tying and fishing them that you two possess helps!
Speaking of simple flies, have you guys fished or tied the IOBO Humpy? Cheers guys, love this collaboration! 👍😎

Chimo Joe the dubbing is a little annoying, I have at least 4 different manufacturers dubbing and each one is a different color and labeled March brown and they vary widely from light tan to mud brown. Even my Hareline dubbing isn't consistent from batch to batch. I would probably blend something to get to the color I want, but for the purpose of this fly, the natural hare's ear is a good color.
IOBO Humpy, hmmm..... I'll look into it and add it to my ever-growing list lol. I'm glad that you are enjoying the collaboration. It's been fun.

Piscator Flies Yes that would be annoying. I guess it's like dye lots with yarn. Tim Camissa at trout & feather(?) tied a nice pattern of an iso. He used a dubbing blend, spectrumized, from a famous fly shop. To me it looked like rainbow scud dub, no iso burgundy mahogany type color like the nymphs and adults I've held in my hand. But it caught fish very well.
I started tying using fur patches for dubbing and eventually packaged stuff like rabbit plus antron. That antron blend had chunks of the unblended antron in it. Later I read an article about diy dubbing, maybe by "uncle Dicky", that he's come across that too.
Thanks for the heads up on the color discrepancies, that was my question. No matter the lable, you tied an excellent buggy nymph as always. Besides, I've never seen a Walt's Worm while digging for them, let alone a "sexy" one with lipstick! 👍😂 Cheers Darren and thanks!
