The modem/router combo is large but esthetically it is pleasing to look at so I keep it in the open. I am extremely pleased with this system and pray that no serious problems arise down the road.
great to hear! A comment on wifi devices, next time just change the wifi SSID and password on your new gateway/wifi router to match your old/existing one. Then all your devices will just automatically connect to your new gateway thinking its the old one.
Until there's network crowding. Then it's anyone's guess what the speed will be. ATT prioritizes depending on the number of users, and throttles almost everything they touch. 140mbps when? All the time? Non-sense and you know it.
@aday1637 Yeah, I've been dealing with AT&T for as long as I can remember and have dealt with their BS over the course of time. The download speeds fluctuate wildly and their isn't any constant. The Air download speed has been from over 200 and down to 18. I constantly monitor it to see what's going on. When I had DSL my speed was 18 period so believe me I'm over the moon with Air.
Better then T-mobiles fails. Their home internet boxes have NO fans. And overheats like a piss and slows down. Or just not respond. People mention having to restart the thing almost 20times a day. Atleast ATT waited to profect their device before going "WERE THE FIRST TO BE HOME INTERNET BABY!!!"
just installed. 10 minute setup turned into an extra 30 minutes with ATT on the phone and extra time trying locations. Desktop is landline, so fairly limited on location. I had major speaker interference with it. Finally found a spot that works better and has no speaker interference. Speeds are better than my Uverse/DSL, but they are highly variable... getting between 15 and 50 on back to back tests. still cheaper than 83/month for 10 though.
@@NaterTater Just a basic 5.1 wired surround sound. It was sitting about 8 inches above the subwoofer. when i lifted it up to about 16 inches it stopped. It was subtle at idle. While downloading, it would feed loud noise through all the speakers like crazy while it was drawing in data.
I'm still on U-verse & $83 a month is just b.s. to pay. But I'm one that started out at $25 for AOL back in the day, lol. Just wondering, does this accommodate security cams that only operate at 2.4K? I just bought a couple a few months ago & it would suck if they won't work with this new Air router.
It has taken me 20 years to get away from AT&T. Just paid my last DSL bill from them. Overpriced and inadequate services all these years. This gateway reminds me of the bubble shape iMacs 20 years ago. I now pay $25/mo for 320 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up on Verizon Home Internet, far better specs than AT&T. Thank you for confirming I made the right choice.
Got mine up and running while I was waiting on the phone for ATT customer service. Took me about 1/2hour -45 min. including changing the passwords on all me devices. 😂 running pretty good so far!!
@Nater Tater - I just got AT&T Internet Air on my business account. I'm averaging 500 Mbps / 55 Mbps so far. The gateway is different. A smaller box. So far so good!
I've had AT&T dsl for years, because that's all that I can get where I live. They just made this available in my area and are eliminating the old, slow dsl. I'm looking forward to trying this and hope it's not too difficult to set up for an old, non techy person like myself. It has to be better than what I have now. The crappy old dsl is only marginally better than dial-up.
I'm still on their dsl. Plus I have the tmobile. I just got the letter in the mail today about switching to this att air. That's why I'm here. Nate helped me decide to try tmobile a couple of years ago. Now I gotta decide whether to switch out my dsl. I hate change...lol 😂
Great initial review. I see they reduced the number and type of ports when comparing to what was sent to the FCC. I would be interesting if you could try to setup bridge mode with your router to see how IPv6 prefixing works along with how / if they support IPv4 NAT for the bridge. Strange how the UI for this is the same as AT&T's residential gateways for U-verse, DSL, and Fiber services. I guess they don't want to run into having to support multiple methods of managing. With their bonded VDSL they do have IPv4 bridge (well as close as you can get) along with giving 8 subnets of IPv6. I have no clue why a /60 subnet of IPv6 on AT&T devices doesn't give the full 16 subnets.
This is just what I need Nate out here in rural Virginia. We're the "last milers" group. I checked but it's not available to our address. There is a new service in our area - 1 GB speed [buried fiber]- and we are 1 mile too far from it. That is the downsides to living in beautiful country.
@@NaterTater I have not called them. I called T-Mobile a bunch of times and am on their waiting list, but they only allow a small portion of customers to receive Rural broadband. AT&T has no waiting list to sign up for, so I suppose giving them a call after the Holiday to find out.
@@NaterTaterI can't find an AT&T number anywhere that the person knows about it. I've been told by one you must purchase this at an AT&T store. Closest one to me is 50+ miles away. Also, any AT&T agent/rep tells me they found a number/department to connect me to and as as soon as I'm transferred, I'm disconnected. AT&T apparently doesn't have their act together yet on this AT&T Air 5G Internet Service.
I called just now and tried like heck to get them to send it to me as he was pulling up my address(even though I had already checked and it said unavailable). Even told them I was at&t wireless customer and was trying to kick t mobile home internet to the curb. Said he could see work or towers in my area and felt good about it being available in the next few weeks or end of the month. What he said but I won't hold my breath. Put in a ticket for me to be contacted when available and said I should get a flyer in the mail when available as well. I'm in Chesterfield VA btw

Going forward this is now called the blimp gateway 😂. With there logo banner rolling constantly to remind you who’s your daddy 😂😂. You may purchase the hanger separately
As an AT&T fan (i have AT&T prepaid for phone & have Directv for tv which AT&T fully owned when i signed up lol), this is kind of intriguing to me but not currently available in my area that im aware of & my T mobile 5G home internet i got a month ago is working fine for now anyway Also that AT&T internet gateway looks kinda big compared to the T-mobile & Verizon ones 🤣 (verizon one is also not available in my area)
Bigger sometimes can be helpful in reducing heat. Unlike the cramp box T-mobile has that has no fan and people need to restart it consistently. Plus it has really no setting features whatsoever. o.O???? Least ATT waited to profect their device before being like T-mobile to rush the ballgame and disappoint their customers.
Nate: I've heard from a reliable source that ATT will soon be testing a newer gateway (will replace the egg). They're very secretive about it and a tester relayed to me that they are on a hold before further testing is authorized. I couldn't find out who the manufacturer nor the model number of the device is. I did learn that it looks similar to the T-Moble gateway. Gary
We need more information Gary! The router they are currently using, "the egg" is from 2016, Verizon offers routers from 2022 and 2023 that offer advanced features and WiFi 6E, T-Mobile are releasing a new home internet router in 2025 according to CNET, any new info about AT&t's router?
I'm glad to see it has a gaming mode, FIOS was great for gaming but I got rid of it due to my pure hatred and disgust at Verizon's business practices, T-Mobile home internet didn't work for gaming, and I have only yet to try internet air, I'm with spectrum on a price lock until 2025 so at that point I plan to switch my wireless and home internet to both AT&T. Gaming is a requirement in my household.
Using AT&T Internet Air currently, and to watch this video, had to drop to 144p to prevent buffering. We had Fixed Wireless, and were forced to "upgrade". Now either we have a big white alien egg in a west window, and poor WiFi at the other end of the house, or we have a 300K download rate, but a wonderfully solid WiFi connection. AT&T made a Bud Light decision with this one.
I think they offer a wifi extender but if not you can add your own. Definitely place the egg where it gets the best speed and then expand wifi as needed. ua-cam.com/video/BEA61OK6hmc/v-deo.html
@@NaterTater Most of my LAN is hardwired Ethernet, but I guess I could run power and cat6 through the attic and down a wall to a window not being used by occupants.
24:50 That "gaming list" Is useless. Its mostly just opening ports for hosting your own server/direct connect. Its really old and prob something they brought over from an old router etc. That list shows the same thing that a router from 2008 showed. Also lists games from the late 90's.
Good report 👍….. seems like a bulky device…. Can’t see why they did that (just to be different) limited speed is just fine but there is something psychologically spoiling with the insane speeds T-Mobile sends out these days 😃…. I wish T-Mobile would give is an ‘expert mode’ on the web interface….. maybe this year ((maybe))
that device is huge! I live in a small studio. At least my router fits tucked away on my desk. I would have nowhere to place that device in this tiny apt. thanks for the video!
Ive had att internet air for about a week now and i hate it. Its disconnects frequently and at most of the time i had speeds as low as 0.5 mbs! Like what am i getting internet from? An air frier connected to McDonalds??!
I just received my AT&T device. I'm comparing T-Mobile and Verizon right now. I like the speeds that I'm getting from Verizon. 806/193. T-Mobile is 211 / 15. What I don't like about Verizon is the separate antennae that is required. Will check out the AT&T device this evening.
@Leslie537 , I do like the AT&T product. It seems to be the most stable of the three. I got rid of Verizon since it went out a lot. Since I work from home, I kept T-Mobile as a backup
@kencase2179 Thank you for replying. Right now I have att dsl and tmobile. I got the letter yesterday from att to switch out the dsl. My dsl is slow but never goes out. Tmobile does go out occasionally. That's why I kept both. Thank you again.
I'm getting 350+ mb/s down 70+ mb/s up on mine most of the time. Long ping but I'm not a gamer so that doesn't bother me. Awesome for $35 a month with my unlimited mobile plan.
I had the ATT Egg and had great speed, up to 300 mb down. I am only .2 mile from the tower. The problem I had was too many dropouts. It might reboot itself, but not always, sometime a power reboot. I stream a couple of audio channels and it would go off during the night like 4 AM, so it would be off several hours. I fired the egg and have a service, radio internet link from the same tower, lower speed but has not shutdown.
that could be a defective unit or if you want to try and lower the signal because it could be interfering with the tower put the unit in the closet while powered on to lower the signal manually.
I just got a information in the mail to switch my service to this and wanted to see what people are saying about it. I would love to get the 5g speeds for a bit less than I am currently paying. I am in a garden apartment of a brick building in a major city full of brick buildings. Mobile service is generally pretty bad in my apartment. I'm willing to give it a shot, but am scared it will not work well and not switching back smoothly.
If you're getting poor cell service with your ATT phones or devices. It's VERY unlikely it'd perform better with the air. Since the AIR does run on the exact same network system as mobile devices do. So if you are using a ATT phone and it's on 5G and you're getting crappy performance under 18mbps or so. I'd avoid the Air and stick with what you got now.
Yeah my app was all wonky as well . But I’m having issues with mine . Can connect my phones but not the laptops or the PlayStation .and I was just watching you with the WiFi on but it kept stalling. Just got it tonight . Called the number it says they are only there till 4 pm
Is it officially good for gaming? I know it has a game mode and you can mess with the IP settings, but from an actual user who tried it for gaming, on Xbox or PlayStation for example, is it good?
I got the service. The speed, if it would hold, would be an upgrade from my DSL. Instead, my son comes home from school and can't do his online assignments because the router needs reset. Resetting is a 1-2 times a day activity when the speeds slow to less than 1mbs.
I have a stupid question. Is the ATT Internet Air using the cell phone wireless data plan? My modem is 25% the size of the egg. My streaming sites started buffering recently day or night, including UA-cam. I was suspecting that ATT is doing it on purpose, so I have to swtich to Internet Air.
It's a different plan, but it does use the same cellular service more or less. Depends on which bands your current modem supports. I dont think att is actively doing anything to slow down other modems to encourage the adoption of internet air. You might experience the same thing, especially if it's a network congestion or temporary issue in the area.
@@NaterTater I appreciate the info. I have been debating if I should switch to the Air. The very fine print eluded to the random slow speeds. I wouldn't mind paying more for a speedier internet... in our dreams. LOL
Nate: I found that the instructions regarding how to display the gateways signal strength do not work as advertised. Basically they say that you can check strength at any time, which would be extremely useful if it worked, other than that I am satisfied with the performance.
Just got the ATT Air. Looking forward to how you can get a 3rd party gateway/router to work. Having hard time staying locked in to the better tower in my area. When I'm locked into the better of the bunch it works great, even for gaming. Seeing 100-200Mb depending on time of day with 20Mb upload most of the time.
I have LTE here on my phone. An ATT agent laughed once when checking our wireless speed here and yet I got a letter about Air. I game online a lot. I’m feeling this wouldn’t be a good move.
I have their Internet 100 plan. So just Internet but i pay $75.96. I just got the notification on the AT&T app about Internet Air. I mainly use the Internet for gaming and streaming. Would this be worth the switch? Wouldn't mind paying less.
The cellular based internet air likely will have worse ping/latency than their wired service. I think they give you a 7 or 14 day free trial and you can return/cancel it if it doesnt meet your needs. Fine for streaming for sure.
Stick with your 'Wired' connection if you plan to play games and stream. Air runs on cellular network which is just like that little device in your palm. But since these home air pods that companies are trying to come out with. You're using 80% more data then you do on your phones which use lot less then normal and don't require fast pings as PC games do. So you'll run into quite a few itches if you went from wired to your wireless home air. Not to mention the fine print that ATT has right now. 'AT&T Internet Air limitations: AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.' Which means if the tower the pod is connected to is being shuffled with the SHARED network of phone users that aren't slowed down yet. You'll likely take the hit first of being slowed from say 100 to 25mph or so depending on the congestion. Which also can sometimes hit pings abit. But as nater mentioned. Wouldn't be bad to take a trial run IF they allow for such. But if not. Don't bother. You may pay a 20$ higher price then air. But you'll take a HUGE amount of impact from the Air's performance difference compared to your internet 100 plan's wired network that is likely not taking any hits from slow down or performance degradation.
Insane how they have way more customization on their gateway but tmobile home internet has little to no customization unless you luckily have the nokia.
Just thought id give a heads up. People are just starting to get the new T-mobile getaway by adding a line and asking for the white new one. But you have to do this over the phone because most stores wont know what your talking about.
Hi Nate, Just got ATT internet air but instead of that white balloon router, I have router that's white and in the shape of the t-mobile router. Can you tell us what's up? Why the difference? And perhaps you can do a more current video on the ATT air. Many thanks.
If that egg was any bigger it would be my easter decoration for easter, Don't leave it out in the sun you don't what to fry it of course some people like fried eggs.(note to self if the speeds are horrible then fry it)
so, the more devices the slower the speed? Im on a good area for this but as you said when games are connected and say someone is watching streaming off the TV etc...would that significantly effect performance? Right now my Spectrum cable doesnt really drop when both of those are going at the same time
According to the ATT rep I called Thursday to get after receiving a letter in the mail, this is to replace their ancient DSL copper lines where it isn't profitable to lay fiber optic

Need to figure out if to configure pass through or cascade to use my Deco Mesh system. I’m using with my current ATT router. Sales gave me one of these to upgrade.
Nater, Please give me your opinion what internet air company is best for security cameras. What is better, analog or digital camera system for internet air?
Getting mine next week!! Is there any way to make it have the same name as my previous network that way all my devices connect to it without having to re pair everything
Because we watch very little TV other than to display our security cameras via FireTV on motion detection and maybe a movie or two on a weekend, our primary concern with these wireless home internet services from AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc. is how is it going to affect our fifty or more home automation devices? How easy or difficult will it be to connect our existing mesh wifi system, retaining our current wifi ID and password? Could you please address this issue? Thanks, Nate for all your great coverage which I am just starting to discover and study.
Good options, seems to take after the uverse gateway. The uverse gateway was one of the few service provided gateways that did pass thought to my own router properly. Now only if T-Mobile will give some of these options.
huge pass for me! why did they make it look like a huge white balloon? I'm an AT&T customer and getting tired of feeling like I'm being milked for fees and extras. I'm going with the new Tmobile hotspot as soon as they're more widely available. So glad I found your channel!🙏
After more than 20 years with AT&T, I recently moved to T-Mobile for Home Internet... If AT&T had delivered this service a few months earlier, I might still be with them due to fear of change, but I'm really glad I got out!
@Scaliad yeah I'm going to make the move to t-mobile. had to call AT&T -4 times this morning just to get some questions answered and activated a new lower plan but here's the kicker, when I was doing well about 5 years ago I had a really expensive phone plan that I upgraded to and it went into effect he same day, to lower my plan the operator said 2-3 billing cycles *pause* 2-3 billing cycles?? like 2-3 months??? totally lost my temper at that point and going to a t-mobile store and going to make the switch. done with att bs🤬
@johnringo1145 T-Mobile includes all the fees and taxes in their plan price. My single line is $70, my home internet is $30. The home internet even included its gateway at no extra charge, and because I had my own phone, there is no contract on either the line or the home internet. With AT&T, my plan with a single line was $85, but my bill was $92.XX.
This will be helpful for me as a device for uploading. I currently have UVerse, which doesn't have the best upload speeds. I've rough to Twitch stream and play multiplayer games. I currently use my phone hotspot as a second network that's dedicated to streaming. I'm willing to invest into a second home ISP if I can get some decent performance from this service.
I'll look into giving them a shot. It's still a wireless connection so I'll still need my hotspot. BUT, I can use it for gaming and use Internet Air for streaming at a higher resolution. And it'll be cheaper than my current home service.@@NaterTater
@NaterTater well I've been using it for about 3 days now. Ping is a little high but it doesn't interfere with my online gaming. Downstream gets anywhere from 65Mb-200Mb. Upstream is around 35Mb-50Mb. It's enough for me to stream on Twitch as I only need an upstream of 6Mb for 1080p. Might be the area for me. I'm not in a rural area. Just a small town that's surrounded by bigger cities nearby.
AT&T internet isn’t available in our area just yet, except T-Mobile 5g internet is. I have no desire to be another TMobile customer again, we’ve been burned by them in the past. Our AT&T unlimited hotspots pull in around download 40-50mbps on 5g when they’re in the house. They sometimes switch to 4g and about 25mbps is about the best they can get. Outside though, they connect to 5g and download speeds are around 265mbps. Makes me wonder what kind of internet speeds I’d get if I had AT&T internet. Thanks for the information the speeds.
In your opinion, would this device be better to just use it as the main gateway for WiFi of home network or, in my case, I have two eero routers that I have been using for my home network? I guess I would have to use the ip pass through feature?
I typically prefer my own wifi setup but either way works. You can do ip passthrough but it's not required, DMZ and even double NAT/router still works for a majority of users.
Is anyone concerned how this may affect someone’s health? Also, can we confirm that there isn’t anything in it that would spy on us? I know it sounds crazy, but you can’t be too careful these days. I received one this week without doing any research on it and I felt uneasy when I first saw it. Never plugged it in and returned it the next day.
The 'advanced' user interface looks remarkably similar to the interface on their fiber to the home routers, with the exception of the cellular specific stuff.
Dang wish this was available in VA! I had their old AT&T Wireless home internet(IFWA-40 Router) like 2 years ago before I got T mobile but they didn't have an unlimited plan. Great signal and speeds but kids exhausted all the data in a few days so that wasnt gonna work!
Depennds.. you can get full bars and not have a high signal. It's like grading on a curve.. Get the network cell info app. It's meter goes from red yellow and green. You'll see that 4 -5 bars may be in the yellow... The better that signal the better chance you'll get faster speed. Also, not all towers have high speed internet like fiber going to them. You'll most likely connect to a closer tower. GPS will give you to a closer tower...
So…I have a question…I apologize in advance. I only have 3 days left to get my new device up and running…this video has been amazing but one weird question I’m replying my Uverse modem and router with this device…do I need to plug in anything to the back of device to stream from Xbox or no? (Getting rid of cable too) thank you so confused!
You should be able to have your Xbox connect to this att unit via wifi. In that case you would not need anything plugged into this other than the power cord.
I have a desktop at home and I just recently set mine up. I’m not sure where to plug the Ethernet cable. Does it go to the 1gb or 10gb 😅😭 Thank you for your time 😊
Is the fiber optic FTTP or is it FTTN? Meaning, is the fiber to the side of your home or is it just fiber to the box down the street? That makes a huge difference in speed availability. In either case what type of copper wire do you have connected in your home? If you have an older home odds are the old copper phone lines are not gonna work well. You need to have Cat5e or Cat6 inside wire from the side of your home going inside to your modem.
@@georgesenda1952 Not all neighborhoods are fiber optic all the way to their house. In many areas the fiber is only on the main streets and ties into existing copper wires going into residential neighborhoods. You can have decent speeds via this method. Did a technician ever come inside your home to run new wiring going to your modem?
Could you walk me through how to setup the Air and still use my Google WiFi mesh (2016 version). I currently use ATT Fixed Wireless and I wasn’t home when it was setup. I assume I would put it in bridge mode and not use the WiFi? Thanks and great channel, just subscribed today!
Your best bet is to probably use DMZ to your google mesh and turn off wifi on thr ATT. That said simply plugging your google mesh into the ATT egg as is should work but has some drawbacks.
unfortunately in my case even with xfinity fastest internet I will get around 8 to 14mbps, with at&t im getting almost 200, this is the glory to me lol
What is the range of this device? Does it go through walls? Currently I have Xfinity in the 1st floor living room and the signal is fine in the basement. However I need a cable connected extender on the 2nd floor to get the signal up to the room in the attic.
The device is sensitive to location for cellular (ie you dont want it in the basement). The wifi signal it broadcast is actually very strong and has good coverage from my testing. It can reach my basement from a 3rd floor attic space for example.
@NaterTater When will the new T-Mobile gateway bundled with an external antenna become publicly available? What's your estimate? What's the name and model of the new T-Mobile gateway? Thank you.
So I know that version and T-Mobile ones have to be plugged into the grid per say via a coaxial cable and you must have cable in your area. So would the AT&T one since it’s running off cellular air be good for us who live in the country and want to get rid of horrible HughesNet ?
These dont use coaxial cable. Verizon, t-mobile and AT&T all offer 5G cellular home internet like this one I show here. So long as you havr good cellular signal this will be way better than Hughes net satellite
Thank you for the video. I received the "egg" but the display clock is off. Do not see any option to access settings to change it. Any thoughts on how to adjust the clock. I do have the mobile app. Thanks

Got mine up and running while I was waiting on the phone for ATT customer service. Took me about 1/2hour -45 min. including changing the passwords on all me devices. 😂 running pretty good so far!!
Good!
@Nater Tater - I just got AT&T Internet Air on my business account. I'm averaging 500 Mbps / 55 Mbps so far. The gateway is different. A smaller box. So far so good!
Great!
Non working app and spanish video is classic at&t (I've been dealing with them for 40 years now). Thanks for the laughs Nate.
haha, i just try to be open and honest!
I hope it works out well for you.
I'm still on their dsl. Plus I have the tmobile. I just got the letter in the mail today about switching to this att air. That's why I'm here. Nate helped me decide to try tmobile a couple of years ago. Now I gotta decide whether to switch out my dsl. I hate change...lol 😂
Hey Nate! As of summer 2024 AT&T does offer a bundled discount, 20% off both if you bundle Internet Air with wireless.
@@FATHOLLYWOODB123 great, thanks for confirming
Oh interesting, i didnt know this is the same as all their gateways! I will do some more testing
This is just what I need Nate out here in rural Virginia. We're the "last milers" group.
I checked but it's not available to our address. There is a new service in our area - 1 GB speed [buried fiber]- and we are 1 mile too far from it.
That is the downsides to living in beautiful country.
I'm sure it'll be there soon. Did you try calling them?

It is officially known as "the egg" haha
As an AT&T fan (i have AT&T prepaid for phone & have Directv for tv which AT&T fully owned when i signed up lol), this is kind of intriguing to me but not currently available in my area that im aware of & my T mobile 5G home internet i got a month ago is working fine for now anyway
Also that AT&T internet gateway looks kinda big compared to the T-mobile & Verizon ones 🤣 (verizon one is also not available in my area)
Dang , that is huge
Nate: I've heard from a reliable source that ATT will soon be testing a newer gateway (will replace the egg). They're very secretive about it and a tester relayed to me that they are on a hold before further testing is authorized. I couldn't find out who the manufacturer nor the model number of the device is. I did learn that it looks similar to the T-Moble gateway. Gary
Thanks for the heads up!
That alien egg is hideous! As long as it works though! Thanks for sharing.
🦕 🥚 🤣

24:50 That "gaming list" Is useless. Its mostly just opening ports for hosting your own server/direct connect. Its really old and prob something they brought over from an old router etc. That list shows the same thing that a router from 2008 showed. Also lists games from the late 90's.
yup my old adsl2+ modem has this same exact menu design, plus im pretty sure you are unable to portforward on a cellular connection.
you can port forward if not on CGNAT. tmobile is known for their convoluted CGNAT causing all types of problems for gamers, servers, etc.

I live rural where ATT service is better then the two other carriers, but alas I just checked and no device for my address. But great review.
Give it time
Ive had att internet air for about a week now and i hate it.
Are you liking the att one?

Nice
I had the ATT Egg and had great speed, up to 300 mb down. I am only .2 mile from the tower. The problem I had was too many dropouts. It might reboot itself, but not always, sometime a power reboot. I stream a couple of audio channels and it would go off during the night like 4 AM, so it would be off several hours. I fired the egg and have a service, radio internet link from the same tower, lower speed but has not shutdown.
that could be a defective unit or if you want to try and lower the signal because it could be interfering with the tower put the unit in the closet while powered on to lower the signal manually.
Definitely not my first time watching! Thanks for the informative video. Thinking about trying this over Xfinity
Thanks!
Verizon having issues with the multi line order error particularly with their 5g Home internet. May have to look at AT&T’s service.
I wouldn't cancel your existing service until confirming this at&t internet air works for you.
I love & hate the design of it lol
Thank you for testing this out.
When it shows the time, then it means that it is connected to the network.
Sorta. It shows GMT 0 then when it fully connects it display the correct time for the location.
Is it officially good for gaming? I know it has a game mode and you can mess with the IP settings, but from an actual user who tried it for gaming, on Xbox or PlayStation for example, is it good?
@@FATHOLLYWOODB123 I live with a famiky member and he changed our internet we are having issues, my cousin cant play his ps4 Online he get Nat type 3
LOL
They absolutely do that every time they’re pushing something new. I’ve noticed it over the years.
Nate: I found that the instructions regarding how to display the gateways signal strength do not work as advertised. Basically they say that you can check strength at any time, which would be extremely useful if it worked, other than that I am satisfied with the performance.
We got ours today. The app didn't work to set up.

If you can game using your hotspot. You can game using this. It's 5g . And runs pretty fast dl speeds
Insane how they have way more customization on their gateway but tmobile home internet has little to no customization unless you luckily have the nokia.
Agree and I'd call this more the normal or correct way!
Nate - pls show connecting devices, such as printers etc.
Just thought id give a heads up. People are just starting to get the new T-mobile getaway by adding a line and asking for the white new one. But you have to do this over the phone because most stores wont know what your talking about.

If that egg was any bigger it would be my easter decoration for easter, Don't leave it out in the sun you don't what to fry it of course some people like fried eggs.(note to self if the speeds are horrible then fry it)
You're cracking me up, go over easy on AT&T. They're probably scrambling to get it out quickly.
so, the more devices the slower the speed? Im on a good area for this but as you said when games are connected and say someone is watching streaming off the TV etc...would that significantly effect performance? Right now my Spectrum cable doesnt really drop when both of those are going at the same time
the same principle applies for cable as this so if the overall speed is similar then you'll notice (or not) the same on multiple devices.
Can you tell me the approximate size and weight of it?

@MrGoalie2012 yes and I highly suggest that! Easy to change the wifi name (SSID) and password in the settings.
Because we watch very little TV other than to display our security cameras via FireTV on motion detection and maybe a movie or two on a weekend, our primary concern with these wireless home internet services from AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc. is how is it going to affect our fifty or more home automation devices? T-Mobile never will, they don't have the ipv4 addresses like ATT and Verizon does.
Great review Nate
huge pass for me! why did they make it look like a huge white balloon? I'm an AT&T customer and getting tired of feeling like I'm being milked for fees and extras. I'm going with the new Tmobile hotspot as soon as they're more widely available. So glad I found your channel!🙏
@jackiechan4399 As a VZW who is being milked At&T does the same thing, and so does T-mobile. Commiecast is one of the worst at always raising prices.
What fees and extras you talking about lol
The upload has been very good. Often get 50 +Mbps up.
@CallMeMilenko good!
This giant egg should get better 5g signal and have better wifi coverage than your hotspots.
Thanks….hopefully AT&T internet will arrive in my area. Keep up the good work on your videos. Very informative!
I was surprised that my address pop up ,but 2 days ago i signed up for t-mobile home internet
I would classify this no different than any other ISP provided gateway.
The 'advanced' user interface looks remarkably similar to the interface on their fiber to the home routers, with the exception of the cellular specific stuff.
others are saying the same thing. must be their standard interface
Dang wish this was available in VA! I had their old AT&T Wireless home internet(IFWA-40 Router) like 2 years ago before I got T mobile but they didn't have an unlimited plan. Great signal and speeds but kids exhausted all the data in a few days so that wasnt gonna work!
Great review. Would it be safe to say 10 miles away from att tower be to far away? We use a we boost & get cell phone service with it.
Depennds.. you can get full bars and not have a high signal.
10 miles is far. speed and connection would depend on your specific location relative to the tower.
You better be able bro get a signal on the moon with that

Is the fiber optic FTTP or is it FTTN? Meaning, is the fiber to the side of your home or is it just fiber to the box down the street? That makes a huge difference in speed availability. In either case what type of copper wire do you have connected in your home? If you have an older home odds are the old copper phone lines are not gonna work well. You need to have Cat5e or Cat6 inside wire from the side of your home going inside to your modem.

unfortunately in my case even with xfinity fastest internet I will get around 8 to 14mbps, with at&t im getting almost 200, this is the glory to me lol
Great!
Thank you.
The Arcadyan TMOG4AR gateway is available now but the official external antennas are not yet.
Is the one that you were trying to get a couple weeks ago and couldn't? @@NaterTater
Is that air AirPod case looking thing the router/modem?
Yes
Thank you for the video. I received the "egg" but the display clock is off. Do not see any option to access settings to change it. Any thoughts on how to adjust the clock. I do have the mobile app. Thanks
It appears they ship with an out of date firmware and will update after hours/days if left plugged in. Once it updates it should correct the time.
Thank you
