Evidently you didn't sing much BHS... You didn't say WHAT you didn't like: The arrangement, the interp, the physical arrangement of the quartet...DON'T just blanket it by saying I didn't like it. If judges can be specific in saying what they didn't like about a song, perhaps you might learn a thing or two by becoming a judge. At least then everyone would know WHAT you didn't like about the song. Oh...I sang barbershop as well. I'm not bragging because the accomplishment was a personal goal, but I've sang on International Stage, and numerous contests in SWD and JAD; I've competed against THE VM, and I've learned to appreciate musicality in EVERYTHING...they did great!!!
