Old School - As Time Goes By (2011 International)

- During the semifinals of the 2011 Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, eventual champs Old School busted out a classic most recognized for Dooley Wilson singing it in Casablanca, "As Time Goes By."
No school like the Old School!
Veteran singers. Mature men. Classic barbershop repertoire. A bit of a snap back from all those handsome young quartets stretching the envelope, but in 2011, International Quartet Champion Old School demonstrated the vitality of a quartet that knew exactly what it wanted to be, then went out and lived it all the way.

I wish my Dbs were that clean after 3 mins of convention singing! Bass jealousy at 1,000,000%
An E is as low as it goes, and that's on a good day, for me.
Man, Jack Pinto is one of the greats! He reminds me of Gary Lewis or Bryan Ziegler in that all three clearly have super solid falsettos and capabilities to sing tenor, sing bass in other quartets, but primarily sing baritone. Wow! Such versatile singers
03:27 DAMN THIS IS WHY I CALL AN BASS! Amazing.
That last chord is eargasmic and Kipp's last note is just yummy.
🎼🇨🇦🎼
Kipp Buckner is too good
3 octaves between the bass and tenor on the last note. Good stuff!
Zachary Sartori yes, 3 octaves but that's the bari on the high d flat!
If only the top one had been in tune ;-;
My Quartet did that in the 90's with only district talent just like the Buffalo Bills with a Joe Connelly Barbershop champs in our the audience
Wow! Would love to have been standing in the middle of that quartet and feel those chords! Music at its finest. Barbershop no tricks just good old fashioned harmony....and boy I didn’t expect that ending . Just lovely xx
Makes me sad that music like this isn't appreciated as much as it should.
I'm doing my part to bring it back😄
I cried
@@BruddahSam I know man, keep up the good work!
Original ends in a D. They started a note lower. Show offs lol...
ND Bass They did the same thing for Little Town in the Ould County Down. I think it made both songs even more beautiful!
These guys are almost from another time - they're as clean as an old quartet but still manage to bring something a little new and fresh to the classics.
I'd give a hundred for their performance
love these guys ... super stuff!
Good stuff. Thank you for sharing. :))
beautiful
ملحد حر It is, isn't it? Four men getting together to produce magic :))
it reminded me a bit of the beginning of bohemian rhapsody by Queen
Nice switch Jackie
Provaci ancora Sam!
Beautiful
Love Old School Go Guyd
Love the Beast!
Joe Connelly past his prime is still worthy of the gold. #letsseeafifthmedaljoe
Hey Connelly ever been asked to SING ANOTHER PART!!!! not jealous already singing BARITONE OR NOT AT ALL.....OTHER QUARTET MAKING JOKES ABOUT YOU FINDING OTHER NEXT CHAMPS FROM MEMBERS OF THE AIC SHOULD MAKE YOU THINK.... Sing baritone with a quartet who hasn't ever won district!!!!!!! EARN THE NEXT ONE WHERE YOU HAVE TO TRUELY HAVE TO EARN IT!!!!
@Wayne Lankenau Do you hunt out every video that he's in to make this exact comment?
@@waynelankenau3295 does it really matter?
@@waynelankenau3295 Paul Gilman was a newbee before the rivals, Kevin Miles never won district before PLATINUM, Gary Lewis's highest score at international was a 76.03 before PLATINUM, Don Barnick had never sung bass before Keepsake, Roger Ross and to Tony DeRosa peaked as semi-finalist mic-testers before Keepsake. he's EARNED those four gold medals and Old School is no exception. Out of the 4 quartets (12 members in total minus Joe), Joe has only sung with 3 AIC Members in those quartets. Even if you're upset about Joe winning a 4th, don't try and take away what all the other members of his quartets achieved as well.
very excellent
Their website is gone, anyone know how to find them now?
