Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse on Amazon: geni.us/5hPDaXk
Article: www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews...
The Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse is a major improvement over the RX 5700 XT reference design, making 40dBA use under heavy load actually feasible (and at better thermals even than the reference card when left unconstrained/auto controlled). The benchmark almost entirely looks at thermals and noise, as gaming performance is largely unaffected. Pricing is also close to MSRP for reference, making a card like this an easy choice over the original model. The only issues left are driver-side, and some of those have been resolved, although overclocking is still a massive pain when compared to working with NVIDIA cards or older AMD cards. In this review, we'll look at if the Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse is worth it, particularly versus the reference 5700 XT. Some mentions of the RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2060 Super are also made, although we do focus mostly on the XT vs. XT comparison.

All the issues you complained about the AMD Driver / Wattman suite have been going on for 3 years, and AMD continuously denies these issues. They continuously push RMA-ing your card instead as a solution, but it never fixes the problem.
Nice review. Detailed and concise. I'll be using 5700xt on stock anyway.
You didn't need a full restart to fix the glitchy colors after driver install. If you right click the desktop and go to "display settings", the colors fixes itself immediately after without needing to click anything within the display settings. Just opening the display settings fixes it.
Can it handle hevc with 4:2:2 chroma via hardware acceleration..the nvidia cards can't do it and need to revert to cpu processing.
Im waiting on gigabytes mini 5700 or the Xt, im using rx 560,
I wonder if GN will do a video on the best aftermarket 5700XTs when they all come out.
@@Aggnog I personally am bracing for any hybrid cards coming out.

Please do ...
@UHD Gaming PC Strix reviews are up and show temps are still not low enough to have an impact and you should have seen that in this video the Pulse when OC'd was nearly as fast as their hybrid mod.
Damn all that for only 10$ more
It's a great deal.
In sweden its more like 70$, making it only 50$ cheaper than the cheapest 2070 super. Tough choice.
@@Farekim unless both go for the same price i would save that 50$ as rtx is useless unless u hv a 2080ti
@v KEITH v Well keep in mind that AMD can't really screw over their board partners like Nvidia can. They probably made the reference models more expensive, with one of the reasons being that they need the board partners to be able to make better cards. Thanks for the review. Everyday no hassle user experience is hardly ever mentioned in reviews (in other reviews I have heard "some issues remain" many times) but this is the first time I have understood the severity of the issues. The pink/green screen issue after driver install is actually a Windows issue and not the driver
This comment isnt even upvoted lol. Weird.
yeah i figured because im having that issue with my rx 480
actually i think its a clash between the drivers and windows
tavis525 it’s a compatibility issue with windows and is still the fault of AMD for not making their driver properly compatible. Considering nvidia drivers work just fine in windows.
It happened to me but just restarting the pc solve the issue.

I honestly think the pulse looks gorgeous I always love that style and sapphire's cards always look special but I may be biased since my gpu is a sapphire pulse rx 570
Running a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 8G, and I must agree
My experience of running the 5700xt is that most issues Steve is talking about disappeared when I stopped running afterburner.
Brandon Bernal maybe because its green? Jk
Wattman and Afterburner just refuse to work in conjunction with each other, even if you only use Afterburner for the on screen overlay. Had the same problem with my RVII, but fixed the problem by just using Radeon Settings for configuring the Global settings while not enabling Wattman. I use Afterburner for my OC profiles and the overlay.
Thanks to THIS review video, I have just purchased this GPU in the UK. Great work Steve, thanks.

About time to finally see a partner 5700!! Cheers.

Would love to see the dissassemble. Keep the great work!
I just want to say that I originally bought the MSI Mech 5700xt and the thermals especially on vram and junction temps were absolutely horrible! Even with a 90% fan curve (which sounded like a jet engine) I was getting vram temps around 88 degrees. I switched to the sapphire after watching this review and I am amazed by how much better this card is. Vram temps rarely go above 76 degrees on STOCK fan settings and with a custom fan curve they are rarely going above 68 degrees. I am so happy I switched to this card and thanks for the amazing review!
I'm crossing my fingers hoping they do a throwback to the HD5870 with these new gpu's, Loved that series.
I am glad I waited, think i will buy the Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse, it will be a big upgrade from my msi 960 4g. Great review.
That'll be a great upgrade. My 980 TI died so I reverted to an R9 290. The 5700 XT is even a big upgrade from a 980 TI, so you'll be very happy with it.
I recommend to wait for red devil reviews. I thinkt it's going to be amazing
Will be a great upgrade from my 670 GTX. Well that is if AMD doesn't release something better by the time I get my 3900x.
Hey, Steve. Long fan of your channel :)

The pink and green screen issue is windows problem i have same problem on gtx 1080 when i instal new drivers i have to reboot every time
My question at this point is,
1. Is the h264 issue fixed?
2. Where the hell did fluid motion go?

Great experience with sapphire cards in mini itx. Well done to them for doing all that for $10 bump.
Teardown yes! I want to see the VRMs and power delivery system on this card vs reference.
Many, many years ago i spoke with some audio teachers. The rule was that a 3dB increase could be perceived as twice as loud. But that was speakers and not fans, so probably deviates. Interesting tho.
Very few people can perceive a 3dB increase. A 6 dB increase would give the perception of twice the volume.

20:20 To be fair. My evga 1060 6gb did the green screen thing after a fresh install too. I thought that it was defective at 1st.
I work for a custom PC shop, that happens with Nvidia and with AMD - and its exactly like he says - it only occurs after the drivers have been installed but before the PC is restarted.
The first time it happened I had a GTX 1070 and Im like did my card go bad? But no a restart fixed it and all is well.
I have had this issue occur every single time whether its an APU or GPU - and the vendor doesnt matter.
This tells me its not an AMD specific problem, and its likely not an Nvidia problem but rather a windows problem.
Amd hasnt fixed anything - there was no problem on their end to solve.
It happens 100% of the time for me now whether the card is a 1060, 2060, 580, Vega or Radeon 7.
