Wow! I had a heart attack in Ohio back in 2019 with one stent. Less than 2 hours in ER, 3 days in ICU $250,000 plus the final bills. Medicare pays 80% of the bills, insurance pays some and the patient pays I guarantee you’ll pay more than $5000 dollars. And the premium will go up.
    Good posting Paul 👍👍👍

I really enjoyed this interview Mark. Well done, and very cool guest. I have been interested in retirement to the Philippines for some time now, however the availability of good quality healtcare became a concern of mine after suffering a stroke some 10 months ago. Thank God I recovered. Back to work, gym, etc. Back to normal life. But having a stroke, to some degree, puts you at an increased risk for having yet another one. This gentleman's story gives me renewed hope of following through with my original retirement plans, and making the Philippines my new home.
Thanks, and continued good health to both of you fine gentlemen and your families! 🙂🙏

My Cardiologist in Margate Florida charged me a co pay of $175.00 (+ who knows what he charged to my SSI Insurance) for a battery check on my pacemaker, that was 7 years ago. My Cardiologist at Makati Medical charges me 1850 Pesos ( $38.00), and prints out and hands me the report. In Florida the Dr. treated it like top secret intel that only he could see!!

I had my first heart attack at 43, again family history of early death of the males on my Dads side. Shoulder pain, sweating and feeling unwell were the only symptoms. I had 3 separate interventions over 3 years that included a total of 6 titanium stents placed around the heart arteries. Since age 46 no more heart attacks and controlled with medications (I am 56 now). My advice, light exercise, no pork skin, never miss your medications, and sleep. Great story, your in my prayers for a long life Kevin. Don't do 20 laps mate its over doing it. Oh and no Viagra, that stuff is a killer 🤣

A gentle suggestion to consider creating more dynamic visual videos. A static interview (wherein your interviewee is sitting in a passive position, with the camera trained only on him/her and no back and forth shots to the interviewer) is probably the least visually interesting way to weave a story line together for the audience. Instead, shoot the interview in various settings-illustrate the actual life of the interviewee-have the person walk around as you talk, say shoot the interview in part at his house, introduce the man's significant other, friends, show photos from his past, and on and on. Walking and talking is very dynamic :). I think the idea for this videocast is great! You have created a great niche! Thanks, and good luck with the video cast.

I found this very encouraging. I have had stents placed twice. The only thing it didn't answer is the actual skill of the only dr. Who can place a stent. Doing a angiography and being able to open a blockade and place a stemt are two different things and waiting 3 hours for treatment could have killed him right there. In the us. I think it is 90 min you hehe to be on the table in the cath lab with an active heart attack since he was having an active heart attack waiting 3 hours could have killed a lot of patients.

Let's be real guy's and gal's a myocardial infarction is the #1 killer of men and women throughout the world the truth is necessary. If the rca lca lda or cercumflex have a lesion of greater than 70% you are in need of serious help. Being parked in a crowded unattended hallway is standard procedure in Philippines and most certainly deadly with occlusions in the heart or brain these ailments are messured in minuets. In the progressive world it may cost you $300,000. But if you can be saved you will be. And then you will have the real opertunity to even up. In the Philippines it may be cheaper $$$ but you gona be worm food.

I have heard that a lot of cardiologist in the states used to miss this type of heart attack and start stinting when it’s not needed .After next angiogram next week I might have to have a stint if not healed but always best if meds can fix issue.
