    Most people do not really care whatever relationship you want to get into-even a 40 or 50 year age gap. But when you try to sell it and compare to any other relationship because most women want the guy to be financially stable, that's when some of us begin to wonder about his concevient explanation. The grand majority of the time when you have a young beautiful woman with much, much older elderly man, it's pretty much comes down to the much younger woman is getting a financial benefit out it. Generally, a couple has similar attractive levels and age to one another. In the case with a young beautiful girl with a much, much older geezer, there is a vast difference in attractiveness. In the West, Generally, only very rich old men can get a young beautiful woman. In the Philippines, even a relatively poor fellow by Western standards can afford a young beautiful woman because the people and women there are so desperately poor. If he wants to drink the Kool Aid, more power to him. But trying to have other people drink it too is not necessary.

    Hey Simon, I also watched you on Mark's channel and a few of your vids.
    Since retiring from the navy 10 years ago at 47 (now 57) I've bounced between Thailand (as you have) plus the Philippines and Las Vegas. Thailand has MANY many great things.. Food, plentiful Jomtien condos, great internet and safe! But.. as you have now discovered.. the Filipino people love westerners, Filipinos have amazing English and a sense of humor and we have a true and sincere connection. That's just NOT the case in Thailand if we're all being honest.
    Best wishes.. I'll see ya' for coffee after I'm back in February. ** Side note, I've explored all over the Phils, many islands and provinces.. lived several months in many locations (Manila was the worst) Dumaguete and that surround area of Bacong and Valencia.. it can't be beat. We all keep looking.. as the grass is always greener.. but honestly.. I've been to 32 countries, and within the Phils I've been almost everywhere.. and Dumaguete has them all beat, unless you're obsessed with big cities with several huge malls. (One man's opinion) Dumaguete people are especially friendly.

      Yes mate, you're so right about the people. Life is too short to have regrets but if I have one, it's that I didn't try the Philippines sooner. In terms of Thai people, I get where your coming from but in my own experience (One man's opinion) it really depends where you are. In Jomtien etc I get you 100% but I had a totally different experience in Phetchabun. In the village I was living, you literally had to drive 2 km before you would get to house were the people weren't related to my girlfriend. There were a couple of thousand people in and around our village, everyone was a cousin, 2nd cousin, aunt, uncle etc. It was a special place for me, everyone was so welcoming, friendly and funny, it was great. However, when we split up I couldn't stay there for obvious reasons but I'm stll friends and in contact with so many people there. When I left I never thought I would experience life like that again but then I found Siquijor 😀😀😀 See you in February mate

    Talk about being selfish, Mark is now saying that he will never do another heart bypass procedure because he did not feel comfortable. He has a wife and now a child that is depending on him. This is just one example of his self-centeredness and why he's always been a financial loser

      @@isaacsworld9269 first of all, what makes you think that I don't know what I'm talking about ? I worked in various hospitals here in Los Angeles for 30 years. I took care of many cabg patients. 30 years ago it was a big deal. Towards the end of my employment in the hospital they were doing five procedures a day. The patients were leaving three days after open heart surgery. Being in the hospital is never fun. You never get rest, you never get good food and you never really get good sleep. The alternative is that you can pass away having some sort of cardiac episode. Mark is yet once again thinking of himself and not his young wife and yet to be born child. If he passes tomorrow he will leave them with practically nothing but a broken down scooter in a small bank account.

    Dating in Southern California can certainly inspire an older man to look for greener pastures such as southeast Asia. I don't blame them. Go where you are treated best, right? We all want better for ourselves...and so do women. I know this sounds selfish but I just don't find most women my age attractive and plus a lot of them seem to think too highly of themselves. So I remain single until the story changes...

    One bit of advice. Be aware!!! If you live with a women that was previously married and has not had an annulment you can put you and her into serious criminal jepordy and possible jail time. If she has children under the age of 18 you could be looking at a long time in jail. Not being an alarmist but if you are or thinking of being in the relationship with a previously married women talk with a lawyer. Being in a room, house, hotel etc. alone with a child under the age of 18 and get caught (or set-up) you better have very deep pockets.
    I lived in the Philippines for many years and lived with a lady, who was married and her daughter who was 6 when we first moved in together. I hired a lawyer and sorted out the appropriate paperwork because of the laws in the Philippines.
    My stepdaughter is now 23. I was able to get her to Canada on a tourist visa and she graduated from high school with honours and has spent 2yrs in college.

    For those that don't know the facts.
    Many westerners do go to Asian countries to hopefully meet a woman, this is very true.
    But, not all western men do. Many leave their home countries & travel to Asian countries for many other reasons, completely apart from women.
    Some of these men just meet someone special along the way, many others don't.
    The bottom line is, no one knows another mans reasons & if one doesn't believe what's said, that's the problem of the latter. It's also no one elses business.

    He is the only man that went to the Philippines for something other than the women. He could have went to Mexico or South America… he travelled around the World, worked with many Filipinos, sure he knew about dating age gaps in the Philippines…he knew he could go there and meet a young woman. He, just like all expats in the Philippines, don’t want the world to think he moved 8000 miles from home, to a 3rd world Country, to meet a woman 40 years younger than him, that is hungry and living in poverty. He don’t want to be seen as a predator….so of course he will say “I went there to survive”. This is why I lost respect for him, and all other expats that make up BS excuses as to why they move to the Philippines…they will claim many reasons but everyone knows the real reason, he isn’t fooling me or anyone else with a brain.

    • @SpeakingofAsia
      @SpeakingofAsia  Рік тому +1

      Well, I don't think that's true about him but I certainly know it isn't true about me. I'm an expat living in the Philippines and I didn't come here looking for women so there is at least one that didn't , me 😉. I'm sure I can't be the only one 🤔 Before you call BS think about it. Why would I leave Thailand, where it is sooooo much easier than here to get women and why after 3 months here do I not have a girlfriend if the only reason I came here was for women. One of my best friends in Siquijor is a gay guy, did he move to the Philippines just for the women? 😂😂😂

Sure you can buy the odd beer for the locals, just don't make a habit of it. I arrive back in Dumaguete on the 22nd mate. Probably a couple of nights there then Siquijor here I come. See ya there.

      Speaking of staying in mate. If I'm thirsty I'll just buy a couple at the local sari sari, 50 pesos a pop. Cheap as chips mate

      What gets me about Mark is he refuses to admit he went to the Philippines for the women, the same reason every other expat goes there. He plays stupid and claims he knows nothing, yet he traveled around the World…I call BS. He knows why he went there. He preyed upon a young girl, in desperate need of rice, in survival mode, in such poverty that she agrees to lay down with someone old enough to be her grandpa. Hey, at least her economic status is better and her family don’t have to worry about food any longer.

      Everything you say is based on assumptions. Assumptions that may well be correct but may also be wrong. In my experience it's never a good thing to state opinions as facts. The truth about their relationship is between them, we will never know what they both think, nor should we. It's their business, so why get so worked up about it? Could I be in a relationship like that? Absolutely not, but that's me and you are you. Just relax, live, and let live, surely? I find these relationships fascinating, that’s why I make the videos, but they don’t make me angry because at the end of the day I really don’t care, I’m not emotionally involved, it’s up to them at the end of the day. 👍

      @@PinoyHeadlines - I've followed Mark's channel when he first started and staying at Big Rock, and I've noticed that there are more holes in his stories than in Swiss cheese. In one video he says that he sailed 30 years and in another ( an American entrepreneur in the Philippines ) he said 15. According to him, he's been to over 100 countries and sailed on over 100 ships. Yeah right. He talks about other countries as though he lived there, but what people don't know is that cruise ships arrive in a port early in the morning and sail in the afternoon/evening the same day. He never lived in any country in Europe ( his words ) but talk about some countries there as though he's an 'expert. ' He was 2 days in Bangkok, walking around shopping malls and eating in food courts, but talks about the infrastructure, food, immigration rules etc. as though he's lived there for years. I could go on and on. BTW, I sailed 42 years ( now retired ) on the old cargo ships, oil tankers, gas tankers, bulk carries but mostly on container ships, and I'm sure that I haven't had over 100 during that period. I'd like to know the '' 100 countries '' he's been to. But then again, that's 'Mark ' I take everything that he says with a tiny grain of salt.

    Why keep paying ur credit card bills? I mean, just stop it, and in 7 years it comes off ur credit record.

    • @SpeakingofAsia
      @SpeakingofAsia  11 місяців тому

      Be careful of that mate, you're not wrong, I've known a lot of people who have done that. More often than that the credit card company just write off the debt. However, in the UK if they take a County Court judgement against you within 6 years. The debt will disappear from your rating after 6 years, and so will the CCJ but at any time in the future, 10 years, 20 years, 30 years down the line a collection company go to court and reinstate the CCJ and come after you again. That probably won't happen but there is always a chance that it could. Just saying.

      @@SpeakingofAsia thx for that mate. U have to make sure u go thru the process properly. But the bottom line, those guys have been ripping us off for years. If u dont need credit anymore I just wouldnt pay them off myself. Here in US, Obama and Hillary raised the rates credit card companies could charge to 35%, thats called usury in the Bible and even those dang cheap ass Jews, just joking, weren't allowed to charge that much. I would take them for every penny I could get.
