More of this please and not just during Black History Month
This is legendary to have all of these amazing talents on here
Sheryl Lee Ralph was the first beautiful Black woman I had seen on TV in the 80's. I saw her in real life too and she is STUNNING. (I saw Loretta too, but she was in a car.) I've watched all of the panel in TV's and movies. I never really thought about them being famous to mostly Black people. I thought everyone would've heard of all of them by now. So glad to see this interesting convo.
Honestly I dont understand why Sheryl would get offended that a person she worked with didn't know who she was when there are COUNTLESS known actors that aren't fully known. PLUS Sheryl isn't really a crossover star by conventional standards so it shouldn't be shock that someone didn't know her.
As an actress myself who grew up watching all of these artists in the 90s and early 2000s, this roundtable just makes my heart smile😍 Thank you THR for this! We need more roundtables with Black artists speaking about their experiences and their wisdom. This is so necessary and not just during Black History Month
Hilarity when all the Queens started excitedly speaking over one another, in praise of the iconic Loretta Devine's performance!! LOL!! This was such a treat!!!! More of this PLEASE!! Thank you!!
I just found this video & I’m glad I did. I am Actor & this video was so Aspiring! THANK YOU MS. LORETTA, MS. SHERYL, MS. LYNN, MS. WENDY & MR. LARENZ! YOU ALLL ARE LEGEND ACTRESSES & ACTOR! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Such a powerful conversation with legends on stage, film, and screen. I love hearing their behind the scenes experience of their careers.
LOOOOVE this conversation! 2 of the original Dream Girls too??? This was amazing!
Great conversation! It's these legends keeping it real for me!
How is Larenz Tate still so damn fine in 2022! That man has not aged at all
I loved this - thank you for putting it together, and thank you to Loretta Devine, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Larenz Tate, and Lynn Whitfield for being excellent.
I love my people man! I got chills when they started to naming the shoulders we stand on!! ❤️
I’m soooooo upset with myself that I’m just now seeing this. Glad I’m here. They’re all so excellent and iconic. There was a time when saying someone was “black famous” was an insult. It was like a way to shade someone relevance and devalue them. Great to see THR allowing the term to be celebrated while still shedding lighting on the barrier that come with it.
Same. Im guessing its only in our algorithm after Monday nights emmys. Ive watched sheryles speech mutiple times
@@tbam73 I’m also late. I heard this video mentioned in another video. I’m so glad I looked it up
I just love Sheryl Lee Ralph
Tuned in specifically for Queen Lynn Whitfield! She is my absolute favorite. But I also loved hearing all of the wonderful perspectives from all of these icons! We really need to celebrate our legends and icons more and give them their flowers while they’re here! Loved this round table ✨❤
I grew up watching all these amazing actors and for me getting into screenwriting right now and aspirations of directing I learned SO MUCH and gained such a deeper appreciation for my black films and actors. LOVED IT
I love how one question led to all the participants starting their own dialogue. Beautiful job Hollywood Reporter. That's the best kind of conversation.
Loretta Devine is absolutely one of the best actresses - if not THE best actress - yeah, I said it, in Hollywood!
This is my entire childhood right here!!!!
I could have watched this for another 2 hours! Please do a part 2
They asked 1 question and just got to sit an listen to this glory for like 20mins. Amazing! Beautiful! Glorious! Fantastic!
Loretta feels like a high empiress holding council.
This was so refreshing, quality programing and entertaining as well as informative. STELLAR. Thank you, Hollywood Reporter! Please do more highlighting of black entertainment through the years.
Can't bottle this Magic! ❤🙏🏽✊🏽
I wish all of you and others would / could get together and take over tv, movies, theater, music, Everything.
Make your own productions and tv networks TOGETHER!
Great discussion with some of our beloved actors
Yes I love the conversation and insight.. Very talented panel!!! Larenz 🥰
NEKESA MUMBI MOODY, I’m proud you & your continued great work. This is a phenomenal discussion. Keep it up! 😍 👍
I need a part two of this. I could listen to them talk about their stories for hours… ❤️
More of this, please!
This was so inspiring! Please continue to make space for our LEGENDS to share their wisdom and experiences with us. Young actors like myself find this content priceless 💗
I need more of these. It's so great to get to see such great black talent get to speak on their experiences together on THR. I don't think I've ever clicked on one of the actors roundtables this fast before. Can we get these every month or so and not just during black history month? Because i would love to see Tamala Jones, Robin Givens, Theresa Randle, Vivica Fox, Pam Grier, Nia Long, Isaiah Washington, Omar Epps, Morris Chestnut and so many more in conversation like this!
This was so inspiring. I really hope younger artist of this generation truly acknowledge the work that others put in for them. Not just with entertainment, but any industry where we had to break barriers just to be seen and heard. This conversation was truly beautiful
I love this, I wish there was more footage of the era Sheryl mentioned. The 60s and 70s and 80s so much history I'd love to get my hands on.
What I love about this video is the ability to analyze the development of black experiences, especially because many think that there has not been much change. We just want it all and now, and why not? But it’s go stop and analyze and hear from others, especially these amazing actors!
Exellent! We needed this. Thank you Ms. Moody and these stellar artists for this conversation
This is EXCELLENT!!!!!!
I can watch this over and over. I love this!! ❤️❤️
This was absolutely beautiful!
Great mix of talent and insight.
Black entertainment excellence 👑
More of this-this is amazing
This was an amazing interview and discussion ✨🖤🔥🔥🔥
Loved This
This was amazing! I’d love to see a part 2 of this topic!
I love this. Great to see so many beloved and respected actors come together for a sit down. ❣️❣️❣️❣️
This was such a beautiful and inspiring conversation.💗
The dialogue within this episode is fly. Thank you for sharing this!! #Gold
This is a beautiful conversation. They are all Acting Royalty in my book ! Can we have this conversation again in person ? more men as well..! Love everyone on the panel! Congratulations Sheryl on your Emmy!
Awesome!!!! Thank you THR and to all the actors!
This felt like home to me. Thank you all.
This is Gold! Keep this coming please!
Hollywood Reporter you need to change the title to include the words “Black Famous” it took me forever to find this video.
Sheryl … PURE CLASS ❤️
Wonderful star power all in one setting❤❤❤❤❤ I love them all🥳🥳🥳🥳
best hour spent in a long time
such amazing women in one room! (love Larenz Tate too haha) thank you hollywood reporter!
The fact that this has been out for 8 months and has less than a 10k views...Wild.
MORE OF THIS PLEASE!
I loved everything about this !
Taking notes ✍🏾📝🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ok umm this is amazing can yall send me a link for the next one 😆 🤣
Literally watching this interview at the serving spoon
when is part 2?
Right!
So...am I the only person wondering why Larenz Tate is the only male in the mix with this group of women?
Sydney Poitier legen who contributed so much to craft. Great show people
underrated trailblazers!
I met Larenz here in Detroit at a festival at a church him and his brothers quite powerful and rich. I have to say that I dont feel like everything has to be geared towards if white audiences or other cultures will validate our position. I keep seeing the black community in states of failure and gentrification instead of progress for blacks on varying levels. The podcast here is so rich and interesting but i wanted to address the narrative for clarification as we continually bring the humanistic aspects of the arts and shared experiences.
Loretta … LEGEND ❤️
More ppl should’ve seen this
jewels on jewels on jewels, wheeew 💎💎💎 we are so powerful.
RE-MARK-A-BLE!!! I enjoyed every millisecond
There were three women missing from this interview: Phylicia Rashad and Jenifer Lewis, and Jackee Harry.
2:16 I'm 32 and I think Loretta is gorgeous.
Lorenz dropping knowledge about marketing and getting Black artists at a discounted prices because of the false narrative that Black artists don't translate oversees. This why Tyler Perry Studios is so important. I don't know if we really give enough attention to the impact of having your OWN STUDIO is.
Can We Please Make Lynn Whitfield On P-Valley A Thing? #ilive

i recognize all of u, except one.... iwswp... 😚🤫✨✨✨🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️📺🎞️📽️📺🎞️📺my bad i know all y'all, except the host, 🙃😬sorry MA'AM...
wonderful actors often underused, what hollywood needs is to know about miscegenation
Wow
Grow your voices,
The moderator could have done a better job of steering the conversation.
I love Lorenz as an actor, but dear gawd he talked too much in this interview. The moderator needed to stop fangirling and actually moderate.
I only know who one of these people is... wow
Time to expand your repertoire. All of them have a 20+ year body of work on TV, Broadway, and film
@@alexandriayessheleads7448 if they were in anything that looked interesting to me I probably would have seen them by now... But I'm happy that they're famous
