In this video, I will be sharing with you what I think are 16 of the best rally games for the Sony PlayStation, PS1 (PSX). Some of the games on this are considered to be some of the best ps1 games ever created.
I will be sharing my experiences with the game while giving my overall opinions & telling you stories about the fun times & not so fun times I had playing over the years...!

Here I want to share my overall experiences & honest opinions of the games I have played on the original Playstation (PSX) console over the years while also diving into & experiencing other games that were realised for the system in other countries & regions that I wanted to play but never got that chance to back in the mid-90s....!
The original Playstation is such an iconic console that helped change how we play & experience games today & it is my all-time favourite console that is home to some of video gamings biggest & most well-known franchises. So I want to share my journey of reliving some of those great memories & share new experiences with you...!

In terms of dynamics, realism etc colin mcrae 2.0 is the pinnacle of ps1 rally games imo. However, for nostalgia reasons and also that it was such a fun game my favourite is Rally Cross lol.
I agree, Colin Mcrae 2 is top of the list & there are a lot of other very cool rally games available even though they are not as refined are still worth a look for sure.
I agree that CM2.0 deserves the top spot overall but my personal fave PS1 rally game and deserving of No2 spot > CM1 imo is VRally 2.
It's incredible. Has a great sense of speed, great drifting, nice visuals and one of the best in game soundtracks EVER🤘

V-Rally 2 is an epic game that is very underrated which is a pity as it has so much to offer, like you said it plays great & the soundtrack is epic. I played the dreamcast version also & i enjoyed it but yea the ps1 version plays better & is easier to get into.
V rally 2 is the most immersive rally ps1 game, it conquered me at the first sight ))
I think Tommi Makkinen Rally was Made by the same developers of Network Q RAC Rally, they used the same car design and the intro song is the same

There’s something about PS1 rally and Destruction Derby type games that I love so much.
I agree for sure. They have a very unique aesthetic with very different styles, I was always intrigued by the graphics & visuals of these games. At that time back in the 90's it was mind blowing.
Colin mcrae was the best i remember using a steering wheel for it and it was class
Yup i remember that the game was even more epic to play with the steering wheel, the handling of the cars was spot on with it, excellent game...! 😁😁😁
Better to see these games in original resolution. Then maybe your emulator could play them smoothly! Also that’s the best res to play PS1 game’s imo.
great video! there are quite a few games on that list that I never played or even heard off. I would put Colin McRae as my personal number 1, just because it was the first one and how amazing it was.
I agree it was a toss-up between which game i had in mind to be no1 as apart from V Rally, Colin McRae was also the other main rally game I played until V Rally 2 & Colin McRae 2, it was always gonna be both at the top anyway...😁
Yea Rally De Africa & Rally De Europe, we didn't get it in Europe, they are excellent games, they play very like Sega Rally on the arcade & Sega Saturn...😁

Sega Rally is definitely the better game for sure, I agree, I like this but it isn't as refined as Sega Rally, that game is one of the best Rally games ever...

Which one in terms of visual aspect is the best out of rally games on PS1? I think it would be V-Rally 2 or Rally Championship. Hard choice..
I agree with those choices but I would also consider Colin McRae Rally 2 to be up there although the visuals of the car models in the arcade mode are not as good compared to the single stage rally mode, that is were V-Rally 2 excels as the visual quality never dips regardless of the amount of cars on track, it still looks epic.
I'm playing FIA WRC Arcade and enjoying.

Rally de Africa is a banger, really underrated. But is Rally de Europe as good as it, or heck, even better? I know that there's one more car class, but if I've already played a lot of Rally de Africa, and even managed to beat Tournament mode with one of the Tune Up cars (AI is much faster, so it's harder overall, if anyone's wondering), is it worth playing?
I think I may have asked you something similar to this before, but the main reason why I'm asking again is because from what I've seen it's just the same game pretty much. The jump from Sega Rally 1 to Sega Rally 2 looks a lot bigger than the jump from Rally de Africa to Rally de Europe at a glance.
Rally de Europe does vary slightly mainly with the graphics as it seems that there is more detail on the car models and environments but the game is harder to play as the tracks are not as wide as the 1st game so you will struggle with certain sections on some of the tracks. Although Rally de Africa feels and resembles Sega Rally a lot more than Rally de Europe.
If I was to pick between the two, both are excellent games but Rally de Africa is the winner as for me 100% as it feels and plays more like Sega rally than Rally de Europe as that is a harder game overall.
Watching this with the volume off (everyone else in hotel room asleep!) but curious to know why RDAfrica score better than RDEurope? 👍
From what i've been able to find out, RDAfrica just seems to be more of a favorite among rally fans. It is also easier to pick up & play compared to RDEurope as that is a more difficult game overall. Both are still excellent, i just found that RDAfrica felt more similar to Sega Rally.
I would recommend you play them both as they are really good.

@@NeoGeoNinja81 I think both games are epic but I'll admit that Colin Mcrae 1 is my personal favorite.
Played it for ages alongside Gran Turismo back in 1998. That was an epic year for racing games.
My fav: CMR2, CMR1, VRally2, Michelin, WRC1.
and mention: Makinen steering OK but look poor, and VRally1 & Mobil1 look good but steering terrible.
Rest is shit.

The footage you used is very bad. Lag in picture and sound due to emulation is horrible.
I agree, parts of the video aren't great & could be better, I just put it down to experience, before i started the channel i had very little experience with video editing & working with setting up emulators correctly but there is plenty of room for improvement which will continue as the channel grows...! We all make mistakes it's all part of the journey...! 😁
