- Today we are taking a noobs guide look at the Parklife DLC. Easily one of the best ones. ParkLife overalls the park mechanic from single assets we place on the roads into paintable districts split into four different themes. City Park, Amusement Park, Zoo & nature Reserve. We look at how integrating public transit into these areas can make them much nicer alongside some other bits and pieces that come with the DLC. Enjoy!

I love when you use "layers of height". Great build as always. I'd be tempted to cheese and entrance from the tram turn around into the park if that was possible.

I never would have thought about putting a tram going through part of a park. That's honestly genius. Just imagining looking out the window and seeing a beautiful park sound amazing. This series is fantastic. I just got back into the game a week or 2 ago and this series so far has been exactly what I need to learn everything again. Especially the public transport and learning how ridiculous walking paths and cycling roads are since I'm fully ready to admit was a big weakness in my building of the cities in game. Your explanations are very easy to understand

Very nice! A lot more new stuff to dig into. As much as I've played CS, I have yet to build a zoo. Oh, and I had no idea the bridges from the creator pack had different styled roads associated with them. Always learning something.

I've learned so much so far from your videos. I def do not feel like a total noob now, just a regular one LOL ...but I started a new city to test out spacing and adding details and transit so I dont feel the pressure to be in the positive of funds while the city grows (got others for that), and it does make a difference! I'm going to go back tonight to play more with adding more public transport which is still weak spot for me. But practice makes perfect or so 😆
I know this is late but this is the perfect way to describe how I am right now. I just got into the game again after taking a long break and I feel these videos are excellent for people that want to get a refresher or to learn something new about the game. The public transport part is my biggest weakness right now cause I never knew how to do things right
Love the look of the tram turn around in the park. So many ideas in this series I think I'll have a hard time picking what ones to add to my own build.

Seen a few parks already, but it is just great to see and hear you build them, OE. ;)
Curvy tram fence down (hardest part so far on console, it just didn't want to set in place in an unwonky way) time to see what's next. As usual though the quays didn't want to work either so at 21:48 I filled in the curve with rocks, both reddit and discord said just to use mods. I hope for CS2 they work the kinks out of 'space already occupied' it's really bad in the remaster.
I was excited for an amusement park by the water with layers of height. Behind this area is really high and amusement park has some tall assets, would've been nicer, imo. Of course I'm biased, I'm not a fan of zoos. Nice build as always. Now we have fences it's full Egg detailing time.
Oh no! Can I tempt you with an amusement a little further down the waterfront?

I gotta say I love your voice. Youre accent is really relaxing. I am a big fan of Mr.Sealy P he does farm simulator and your voice like his makes your videos enjoyable. Your builds are amazing as well I love how you make the city come to life after ( my favorite part of your videos) detailing section. Is the tram actually integrated into the park if the tram road is "boxed in" and passengers cannot end their journey inside the park? Why not add a side gate at the turnaround where the tram stop is? Not only would that increase the park visitors, but allows tram riders to access businesses/residences on the arterials near the roundabout.
The problem with tram tracks is that you can't essentially place buildings the sides as you can with actual roads, and having roads with tram tracks on a tram terminus is aesthetically unpleasant for the small park in the video.
@@PACKER1206 I wonder if it might be possible to upgrade just one piece of the roundabout into a road with tracks and place a park side gate on that piece. Because as far as I understand, the side gate doesn't need access by service vehicles, it might be okay to leave it unconnected to the general road network.
Yeah, I wanted to and tried. You can't place a park gate on a tram track (vs tram road), so you'd either have to a) change one piece in the center to a road, which would be wider b) attach a small section of road and fence it off as well with the gate on there or c) turn the whole bit into a tram road and have everyone park their cars there.

love watching your vids, however a lot more expensive for dlc's on ps4. went on instant gaming, not one dlcs for the ps4 :(

I wonder if being able to place things like bushes or floor tiles over eachother is a PC thing? I can never place anything within its allocated circle thing 😞 so the bushes always look weird because there’s a big gap between them
(By bushes I mean the overgrowth/weeds )
It is indeed a PC thing! For some reason the collision mesh for those weeds is a lot larger on console 😩
So what does the pollution Icon at 41:03 mean? You mentioned you would explain it, but unfortunately never did.
Introducing Mods from time to time coould be helpful for those woh are new to CS. Move It! has been a real gamechanger for me. Anyway, always a pleasure watching you building cities!

Okay so I got the city rebuilt to the Zoo. I hope you can maybe help with a link to how to use quays walls. I can not get these things built. Either the distance is to short or the slope is to steep, I just suck at creating these things. I could use a tutorial on the basic basics. Otherwise I will just build without it. I got the straight one along the water front fine but these curves are a B*%&H.
Vanilla quays are a pain in the arse mate! If you are on the PC, I strongly suggest playing with the Network anarchy mod so you can just place them wherever you want, otherwise, its just a learning process and getting to grips with how they have
LOL after all afternoon trying to make a simple rectangular inlet and being unable to even get that lined up I have given up on quays walls. They have become such an abomination to me I don't want to even see one let alone make one. @@OVERCHARGEDEGG

Yes, with an important caveat: different types of park districts cannot overlap with one another. For example, a given piece of your map can't belong to both a city park and a zoo at the same time, etc. Likewise, park areas can't overlap with other specialized areas (campus and industry dlc areas). However, any of these areas can overlap just fine with vanilla districts. Also, I do not believe just being in a park area does anything to the attractiveness of land. Assets from the parklife dlc have entertainment values and effect radii, just like vanilla base game assets, and I believe this is all that matters for land value.

there are jersey barrier and guard rail networks in the workshop. no need to use fences.
