I have made many of these from this pattern (learned from another video) and the scarves are just lovely.. The scarf looks a bit different on the other side and both sides are beautiful.. Is there a reason you do the first row and the last row the same? Meaning you do one less chain then the rest of the scarf? Thanks!

I have made many of these scarves and generally, you can make a nice scarf with 10 rows, which is a good width, but you can also make it 20 rows and it is nice and wide. I have made them 15 rows wide and like that width too. Use you own judgement and try it on as you go. Anything less than 10 rows, with the same weight yarn that she is using, would be too narrow. May I suggest, if you want to wrap the scarf around your neck more than once, do a beginning chain of about 220 chains. When you make your beginning chain, try it around your neck to see if you like the length. I always make mine much longer as I am a tight crocheter.
