- A report into the UK terror attack at Manchester Arena in 2017 has found that the bomber, Salman Abedi, should have been identified as a security threat.
Sir John Saunders, who is leading an inquiry into the bombing, says there were several missed opportunities to prevent or minimise the devastating impact of the atrocity.
Twenty two people were killed and hundreds were injured when Abedi, an Islamist extremist, blew himself up at the end of an Ariana Grande concert in May 2017.

Well there’s this thing called a bomb in a giant back pack that he seemed to have been allowed to bring in like it’s his lunch. You shouldn’t be allowed to bring a bomb to an arena, end of.

Stop and say "fair cop guv, you got me" no. He will let that bomb off there and then, killing other people. So that makes it right does? There would've been another enquiry once again looking for someone to blame for an atrocity that would've killed people one way or another. We're in this blame culture, sure let's have an enquiry and let's learn from it. But let's remember those who lost their lives and stop trying to blame someone for it. Its no one's fault except that scumbag of a terrorist.

@@Beelzeboogie immediately inform the police, clear the area and get ambulance to the scene incase it went of because seconds count. Even if it only saved one life it would have been worth it, instead nothing was done.

I’m from Manchester and every time you go to the station you always see people with large bags, I’m guessing they dismissed it as someone travelling, waiting around for their train.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t have checked but I can see why it was dismissed as something innocent.
They were too concerned about being called racist so they let them be . This is happening more and more .

They got away with it for 150 years, but now everyone has a high def movie camera in their pocket that won't fly.
If you believe that Ive got a bridge to sell you. Security don't get paid enough so they do half jobs. This excuse was cultivated to deflect blame.
So basically the company hired a load of kids as security, the police weren't in attendance, and a fundamentalist with a massive backpack was allowed to roam around. Yep that's the Manchester I know and hate and why I left.
Even if police had been there wasn't anything the police or security could have done if they'd challenged him he'd have just let the bomb off earlier the real failure is with mi5 and intelligence services this is the governments attempt to scapegoat onto everyone else

According to other media, BBC fails to mention that for a reason unknown to me, the security didn't want to search him nor his backpack because they were afraid that if nothing was found on him they would be called racists and lose their job. From my experience in working in the British system is that most of these people hired to safeguard lives aren't really professionals and are inadequately trained. I see it all the time at hospitals🙄
Yeah they are called pcsos! Not professionals and inadequately trained describes their job perfectly. The police aren't much better. The whole system needs an overhaul. Proper accountability. The pcsos in this example were likely promoted to train the others to show them how to shirk effectively.
Hospital "security" are usually ex-Police who spend their time chatting up the girls on reception, useless.

Lots of 20/20, if I were one of those security people, I would feel 0 responsibility. It was a low security area with a lot of people and to top it off if you confronted the person, you would have gotten blown up yourself. If I were some low paid security person, confronting people and getting blown up would not be on the list of things I signed up for.

I am ex forces, and struggled to find work on leaving after 18 years. But, the Welsh Assembly were advertising for security posts, and I applied and got the job. On my first day I realized that most of the team were indeed ex forces, but a few private security were mixed in also. The differences between the ex forces guys, and private security were stark to say the least. All the ex servicemen had a sense of duty and professionalism about them. The private security guys were more happier to be snorting cocaine off toilet seats. (FACT)!!. The fact that there are thousands of ex servicemen without work, just because they don't have an SIA license is a joke. Most of the private security that I worked with would make fake copies of their security cards, to avoid annual renewal fees. One of the priv sec guys was 39 stone (box ticked). And remember everyone. This was government security, not some concert arena. To cut a long story short, within 4 years all ex servicemen in the security team were forced to take redundancy (or become private security). The whole team is now private.
