That costs us our Lotus Petal and gives us only one colourless mana to play on (if we get combo pieces), leaving us needing to draw two mana sources and to dodge wastelands and plow, whilst our spells get harder to cast.
@@crucible_of_words so what. Make your opponent have it. Don't be scared of removal your opponent "might" have, force them to either have it or die. Respectfully, in my humble opinion, based on experience. ❤️
@@cno733 But we sadly didn't have it then, if we do that line, we need to draw 2 more mana sources (or an urborg/Yav) to go off, so we aren't even putting our opponent to the test, we are just cutting ourselves off of all coloured spells and hoping we draw good for a few turns in a row.
@@crucible_of_words activating thespian stage does not require colored mana and that's the only thing that you need to do to win. So you don't have to top deck a colored source you just have to draw literally any mana source at all and now you have enough mana to activate thespian stage. Like crop rotation is an instant you have two crop rotations you have two green mana open and you have two land you can sacrifice. Your deck functions on a combo of two lands combined. This should have been a no brainer. Do the thing, win. Right? I'm sorry if I'm missing something. It just looks like you missed lethal. And you did lose that match so .. would it have hurt to try?
@@cno733 But you need two mana and a stage. If we do double crop, we have stage and zero other mana. So we need to draw 2 mana or an urborg to combo. And in the meantime whilst we try to draw those, we can't cast other spells we draw, like Sylvan scrying, which could get us one of those mana sources. If we had a third land instead of the Petal, this line would work as we could keep the urborg, but emptying our hand and being left with just a Stage and Depths in play would have taken us further from winning, not closer. If we wait until we draw one land, we can set up the permanents we need to combo. There's also the issue of playing around the opponent's wasteland into Surgical play, which is a common line from these decks.
I wrote an article about it on my Patreon with a bunch of different lists. I don't get to play paper MTG as often as I'd like so not had a chance to play it in paper yet, but I do have a playset sat next to me right now!
Alright fine the title made me chuckle
14:40 should have thoughtsieze crop crop ... Right? That seems good there ❤

where sloth?
Fallout isn’t on mtgo
No on MTGO :(
Have you tried the lumbering mega sloth in this?
Sloth isn't on MTGO I don't think
It’s not, but I think he places this deck in person also.

sloth free is the way to be
I'd at least like the option, but alas tis not to be on MTGO
