wow. i wouldve scooped game 1 so long before you did cuz i thought there was clearly no chance of winning it. That you won r1 g1 and g3 from your opponent drawing too many cards both times says so much about how power creep evolved over time XD Also huge props for sticking that out and turning it into a win by defeating opponent with their own deck lmao.

2024 modern horizons 3 monastery mentor would cost 1 white, lack prowess on its own body, and have ward 1 and flying, and probably be a legend. thats my concept. actually sounds like a pretty fun card for trying to keep up with the extremely pushed cards of today.

It's good the deck is strong enough without its key gameplan.

Huge pox fan, but imo pox lists with sinkhole are Bad, and reflect poorly on whomever is piloting it. Obv you just play whatever decks just to test, but it sucks seeing a card I've 100% written off come back over and over and over. Guys, stop, it doesn't work anymore. Stop trying to make sinkhole happen, it isn't a good card.

Sweet deck, I really enjoyed the games! If cutting the Rector package, Dark Ritual should be on the table too. You're just not powering out much--they're like bad Sol lands. That could create some space for interaction like Push or Pierce. Alternatively, you could lean into the Rituals and play Beseech the Mirror with some other tweaks. Beseech and Vexing Bauble are kind of weird together, but you can bargain it away. It's weird I know since it turns FoW back on...

it’s pretty marginal, but at about 7:00 I believe it’s correct to + lili before hymn. Lili gets rid of their worst card, leaving hymn with a better chance of hitting something good. Also, it forces them to choose what to discard before they know you’re going to hymn them, and before they know what they’ll lose to the hymn.

I wonder how good Scrawling Crawler would be in a shell with with Bowmasters and Sheoldred to make full use of the forced draws. It's also worth mentioning that Crawler scales exponentionally in multiples (1 = 1 dmg, 2 means 2x2 =4 dmg, 3 means 3x3 = 9 dmg, etc.)

I am a HUGE proponent of Eladamri for the Modern list. Not so much a fan of him in Legacy, though. That's not to say I don't like the non-glimpse elf decklists, because I actually prefer them to the combo version. But with all of the wincons that were already available to this deck along with the ridiculous speed of the optimized list I feel like the Eladamri/Anthem are sort of unnecessary at best. I think I will stick with my extra copy of Natural Order and ramp insurance, just feels so much better and consistent.

I know you already touched on adding Fetchlands when suggesting splashing red, but what about adding fetches without adding a color (and maybe 1 surveil land for selection), it would help with Fatal Push Revolt to hedge against the 3-4 cmc drops that monored runs. I don't know if it would be optimal because the life loss is relevant, but it may be worth testing. Anyways, awesome video and league, sweet sweet deck!

How lovely! I've recently seen a similar list somewhere and thought it was probably absolute garbage. It was such a nice suprise to see it look good in the video. I was wondering if it could be good to side some extra midrange elements (maybe orcs or dauthis) for matchups where combo killing isn't likely to be easy. Playing modern necro vs ub frog I side out soul spikes, though probably you can't do it here since the build leans more heavily on it.

This effectively a budget deck in legacy too (especially if soul spike becomes cheaper again ever) which is pretty sick.

at around 24:00 you talk about leaving the halfling up to play around daze with the soul cauldron. the cauldron is legendary and halfling can make it uncounterable anyway if that is important

I would not play Skewer the Critics, it's a win more card. Rift Bolt is much better, it can sometimes cause players to misplay (e.g. they delay playing their creature for a turn to avoid it. if you go rift bolt into rift bolt the next turn it can really mess with them).
