    Great cinematography, horrendous audio. Would it kill you guys to rent a Rode shotgun mic for a production like this?

    The Impossible Project has been renamed to The Impossible to Afford Project. Quite fitting,actually.

    Use to work for Honeywell Pentax in a little service Center on Newbury St. in Boston! We took on the Polaroid SX-70 Camera to service when it came out! We use to build our own SX-70's from parts! We had cases of film at our disposal to use back then! They were cases of film that were either slightly outdated or had some blemish to the packaging! What you guys are doing is great! It's good to see that your preserving something that Polaroid was to stupid to do! In the 70's Rte. 128 in Massachusetts were i'm from created some of the best products in the world! Spent my whole career working the 128 strip! Tragic that so much of the technology has bee lost!

    Very inspiring to aim to do the impossible and what other people say you can't do.

    Its sooo expensive! 24$ for 8 pics! I was kinda dissapointed. I know is a hard work, I really wish people/celebrities/rich people (lol) would support this Instant cameras again!

      One would think they’d be able to do this without the battery being in there... makes me wonder why they didn’t?

      They made it cheaper than the 600 film instead of same price for one more frame

    the photos from 5.20 to 5.40 have amazingly shallow depth of field. can a normal polaroid camera like a SX 70 or Spectra achieve that DOF?

    does it bother anyone that you have to pay 25 dollars for eight photos? Really , you couldn't get two more photos in that cartridge ?

    • @Hernandez9699

      why do they sell just 8 and not 10? does anybody knows the reason?

      The pods of developer at the bottom of each photo / sheet are a lot thicker on Impossible Project film than the old Polaroid ones ... Impossible had to start from scratch developing the chemistry and for now this is the most they are able to physically fit into a pack.

    • @SophiaPetrillosBuddy
      @SophiaPetrillosBuddy 7 років тому

      Money, that's why. There's a video on UA-cam showing that 10 photos can fit in the cartridge, so anyone saying otherwise is just spewing bullshit.

    • @briansegarra9312
      @briansegarra9312 6 років тому

      @@SophiaPetrillosBuddy its not the same fitting 10 used film than putting 10 unsed film and shotting them and consistently getting great result, im pretty sure they fit but some have issues and aomw dont

    • @SWMOWoodsman
      @SWMOWoodsman 4 роки тому

      While they do fit, they cannot put 10 into a pack because it could potentially pop the chemical pods prematurely, resulting in failed images.

    it's sad fuji is kicking polaroids ass...don't tell me you can't get 10 shots and much much shorter developing time...Fuji is doing it, if they can do it polaroid should be able to do it..Charge what you want, but get it right

      I shade the photo from light only if it's REALLY sunny outside. If it's outcast or half-sunny, inside etc. I don't shield it, just watch it develop.

    Why is it impossible to make Polaroid film the way Polaroid made it? Is it because Polaroid lost the formulas and never patented them? Or is it because Polaroid won't sell/license their patents to anyone?

    • @videotaperenaissance
      @videotaperenaissance 9 років тому +4

      It's because the chemestry was not allowed anymore. In the SX-70 Time Zero film there where traces of mercury

      I think he explains it. Because polaroid used many factories to make every part needed, but Impossible has only one of the factories now. Thus they have to reinvent everything else. When Polaroid built their infrastructure, the market was huge and lots of money could be spent. But today the market is small and it's hard to do things the way Polaroid did, especially if you have to start from scratch.

    • @jessicanoory2856
      @jessicanoory2856 6 років тому +1

      That was my question too, it makes sense to use murcury from a chemistry standpoint too. You need a reactive metal or halide to speed up the process of developing. It's a shame it can't be done any more, but I get it...the photos are toxic. Thankfully 35mm film isnt.

    • @BradMaestas

    My question is why is it so FUCKING EXPENSIVE to buy the films for polaroid? If Fujifilm can make it cheap, y'all can make it cheap.

    • @hoissuru
      @hoissuru 7 років тому +1

      yohomiez101 why would you sell it for less money if people buy it for the current price? -that is the reason don't get me wrong you are right it's expensive as hell in on your side but this is the reason sadly

    • @element4element4
      @element4element4 7 років тому +3

      Because Fujifilm is a huge company with lots of money and they built their infrastruture back when film was at it's highest. Impossible project had to effectively start from scratch and the market is not big enough now to fund big machines/infrastructure and research.
