Son, it is nice to see you enjoying time with your mother. Seems like she is a special lady, you treated her like a queen. My mother passed away suddenly many years ago, it stirs my heart to see how special you treat your mom. My mother fished with a 404 zebco, she caught a 8 lb sheepshead on 10 pound test, we had to climb on rocks and my brother and I climbed down the rocks and he got it. It just made 8 pounds. It was the biggest sheepshead I every seen. I know you do already, but from one man to another, cherish her as much as h
Luv seeing y'all on the pier. Your underwater footage is a priceless resource for pier fishers to garner a better perspective of what is under the waters beneath them. Thanks!
What a nice clip. The warm energy between you and your Mom and your low key but ever present enthusiasm totally make it. And the octopus! Cheers and good luck!
Wow! I’m really glad You took the chance with the GO-PRO! As quickly as my line gets cut in Galveston, I imagined a lot of rocks and barnacles as well as bigger “toothy” fish were down there biting through my line. It was really interesting that there wasn’t much going on. Thank You!
Liked the underwater footage, I expected to see more life down there! Would be interesting to see the same spots in the spring and summer. Keep up the good work!
Nice video. As a fisherman here in New England I put a plastic bead on my line in front of the slide sinker so when he slides down to your knot it doesn’t slam into it causing some abrasions and losing the integrity of the knot. I also would throw some chum in the water to bring the fish around. We use invasive Asian crabs that we find under rocks along the shoreline as bait and chum also. Keep a tight line and thanks for the video.
Love the underwater shots!!!! That octopus was awesome! I’ve always wondered what it’s like down there. Thank you for posting and please do it again soon!
Great idea with the camera and yes please try to give more underwater views of the areas your fishing it's a good way to learn the behavior of fish. Another reason Bama is the one channel to watch for all your fishing needs.
Thanks for being willing to sacrifice your camera so that we could see what's down there. That was really cool. Glad you got your camera back safely. Enjoy watching your videos
FOR SURE....A GO-PRO AT THE SURF...NEAR A REEF...PAST THE BREAKING WAVES...(KAYAK THROW)....?!...that might be really Cool....ALSO Steve ...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY '' to Mrs...Have a great one...I'M cooking on mine ...lol🌏☮AND💜✝
Really liked the “fish-eye view” we got from the GoPro. Cool to see the crustaceans on the pilings and the octopus. Even the sea floor is amazing. Next time, maybe we’ll view some fish! Keep doing what you do. We really enjoy the pier fishing, and the added underwater footage was great!
I heard you tell your mom to set the hook. When using circle hooks never set the hook. The hook set will pull the hook out of the fishes mouth. A circle hook simply requires you to start reeling in as you fish swims away. The hook is designed to catch it the fishes jaw. This prevents gut hooking undersized or undesirable fish.
Looked like a ghost town down there! I feel you about being nervous lol I have a few videos dropping mine in 100-120ft of water. The footage is always cool though.
The underwater video was real cool. I would love to see what it looks like when the fish are really biting. I bet it would be stacked up under the pier. Great video. Fish gum did a video of surf fishing with his go pro out on a line. It was real cool to see how the fish were hitting his line.
Great underwater footage. Glad you would risk your camera for us. Maybe next time there will be a few more fish. Cool to see the growth on piling and how little was near the base. Please keep up the great videos. God bless
Like the underwater! Maybe rig a separate rod with heavy braid for that lol. At that third drop location I thought I saw my rig wrapped around the piling from late June lol. I did catch a really good pomp there then also. Keep up the good work!
I always enjoy your content and your Mom out-fishing you! She’s an asset to your vids! By all means drop a GoPro down when you can. It is a whole positive addition to the quality of your content. I built a submersible GoPro mount out of some 3/4 Inch pvc and lead sinkers inserted inside it near the bottom of the rig.I attached a bicycle handlebar GoPro mount to the rig and use a hand line or something far more substantial than fishing line. Let ‘er down and see what the cam catches. You can grab a good used GoPro 3 or 4 off of eBay for very little and not risk your 8. Keep up the good vids!
Nice I have also done that with a GoPro I had very strong line. Was still very nervous lol I have some underwater lure cam footage. Its mad seeing fish chase the lure.
Doesn't the hero 8 have compatibility with an app to live view the footage wireless on a smart phone, or tablet? I want to see some sight fishing, lol. Thanks for the video
It might! It just burns through battery like crazy ! And is very finicky, awesome camera but it chooses when it wants to work haha! Not a bad idea though ! Thanks for watching
Hey brother, love your videos and I’ve been following for a while. I think that’s awesome that you fish with your mom like that also. I’m curious about the sunglasses you’re wearing in this video, I’d like to check those out if you would share a link or the make and model. Thank you so much and keep the awesome content coming. I also noticed you had your camera clipped on to the rail of the pier, I would hate to see that thing get bumped off or slip off and disappear so you may consider a bungee cord or carabiner to attach it just in case :-)
Thank you for watching !! I appreciate it. A tie down strap is a good idea. Also, I'm wearing Costa Fathom 580G Sun Glasses, I've had my Costa Sunglasses since 2013 and have worn them constantly. I absolutely love the quality of the polarized lenses. Here Is a good link for them: amzn.to/3dXordK
@@BamaSaltwater You’re very welcome and will continue to do so, I do mostly sure bass fishing but grew up in Galveston and fish in North Carolina now. If you ever make it out this way would love to meet up with you and fish with you.
Enjoyed seeing what's down there. I'd like to see more underwater video at different times of the year. Something I noticed in this video on your cart. Looks like you were either using a different cart or you had swapped out the wheels from the orange balloon tires to the more solid black tires on the yellow wheels. Do you always do that when you switch from fishing on the sand to fishing on the pier ?
I actually purchased another cart used second hand for a really good deal with the rubber tires so I don't have to switch between the two! The regular tires can hold more ice and weight (including me sitting on it haha) on solid surfaces such as the pier versus the balloon tires for the sand. . Thank you.
You told her to set the hook when she first caught it. Just a little tip...you do not have to set the hook with circle hooks. Start reeling in the line and the circle hook works it's magic to the corner of the fishes mouth!
Yeah I'm aware,, we knew what each other meant to say. I'm very successful with circle hooks. as we use them all of the time. When I say "set the hook", she knows what I mean and to just put pressure on it, (because technically, you are still "setting" that hook in the corner of its mouth).

Yessir!! Definitely pretty cool for sure! I can’t wait to see how it looks with warm water and Pelagics hanging around. Thank you for watching!
What a nice clip. The warm energy between you and your Mom and your low key but ever present enthusiasm totally make it. And the octopus! Cheers and good luck!
After 8+ months watching you I can say your content is my favorite. Nothing flashy, just being yourself and catching fish.
Appreciate ya!!

Underwater footage is always gold.
Liked the underwater footage, I expected to see more life down there! Would be interesting to see the same spots in the spring and summer. Keep up the good work!
There would usually be more life but Since it’s so late in the year most fish have moved out to deeper water.
Loved the underwater footage!

I really love the underwater footage. I'm still fairly new down here so it's great to see

I appreciate ya watching !!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼👍🏼
They make underwater drones, you could be the underwater bridge video guy! I would watch that.
Very cool underwater idea.
More underwater footage please!!! And maybe a playlist for videos with underwater footage featured.
Definitely will do it again ! Thanks !
You made the best out of a slow fishing day.
An Octopus on the first piling , how cool! I love to watch underwater video.
I thought that was neat as well! They’re such smart creatures and masters of camouflage
That was lots of fun to watch. Just found you. Thank you for the great footage
Love seeing the bottoms
and what surrounds where you fish.

Yes ! More underwater footage please. And don’t worry about the GoPro just go up on line test 👍👍
That was very surprising. I expected to see a lot more life in the water. Thanks for doing that for us.
I thought it was pretty cool too for sure!! Once the water warms up, there will be lots more life hanging around including some big gray tax men haha
Would love to see more underwater footage in deeper waters… cool vid thanks for sharing
ME TOO!!
that octopus was cool!

Thank you ! Definitely will be doing this in the summer when the sharks are around !
Your mom always out fishes you🤣🤣🤣. Good video. Like the underwater view
IKR haha, she's been fishing long before me haha
Camera-shy fish! All hid behind the pilings!!
IKR haha
Great fishing video with a nice sheep head
Thanks!
Nice touch using the Go Pro. Next time I'd advise using something a bit stronger than mono. Thanks for sharing.
Most definitely! Haha!
Great idea with the under water footage love that.
Like the underwater! Maybe rig a separate rod with heavy braid for that lol. At that third drop location I thought I saw my rig wrapped around the piling from late June lol. I did catch a really good pomp there then also. Keep up the good work!
Definitely will be on braid next time haha And ikr. makes ya wonder what happens to all of the rigs and line that gets entangled.
The underwater footage was cool to watch even tho there wasn't much down there👍👍
Appreciate ya watching ! Will definitely be doing more.
Liked the underwater video do more thanks

Dropping a camera down at them natural gas rigs would be awesome !👀
you should have got underwater footage of the rays
I personally think you're going to go far. Very good video, nice explanations and video in the water.
I like the underwater stuff.
Next time bring a mesh bag and mix some soft cat food ,sand and hard cat food. Makes a good chum to bring in the fish to video.
one those underwater drone cameras would be awesome and very valuable to locate the fish at a pier.
Enjoyed watching. You have more nerve than me with the Gopro.
Great video. Doesn't make me want to pay to fish of any piers. Some more under water footage would be great.
I would love to see down on some of the near shore reefs just outside of the pass on a calm clear day.
For sure !!! I would too 👍🏼
Nice I have also done that with a GoPro I had very strong line. Was still very nervous lol
I have some underwater lure cam footage. Its mad seeing fish chase the lure.
Yep, more please!!😁👍
There wasn't much down there. But watching that GoPro was still exciting. Lol
I agree!! Appreciate ya watching .
Its fished out!!
Oh yeah! Do more underwater filming!!
Yes do drop it , to bad you can not see no fish around , great video ,
Would like to see more underwater footage. Very interesting
Like that under water footage 👍
Yeah, that was pretty cool, was wondering if there was any debri out at the "nub".
I wish I had dropped it down more. I didn’t think I’d capture much or the video would be blurry, definitely going to try it again for sure!
Cool video. Definitely drop the camera more often 👍
Will do! Thank you
Cool video man
I enjoy underwater video. I bought a couple of the cheap action cameras to try this but conditions weren't good when I was at the beach.
I was like the water was so clear wonder what it’ll pick up haha! Now it’s churned up and muddy haha
at 15:25 it look like some graduating class all threw their mortarboards into the water at the end of their commencement ceremony! :)
great video very creative lol and risky
it would be interesting to see the GoPro go down beside a rig tomsee what's down there.. too thanks forgoing that capt
I have one planned for that 100%! It’ll be cool
Lived in Naples Florida 25 years I used to rig my rods exactly like you did
Will you make a video on how to fillet a sheepshead? I tried cleaning one once but it didnt go well.
Just uploaded one here: ua-cam.com/video/2az90ZBarls/v-deo.html !
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks bud! 👍
where did you get the bait boxes
amzn.to/3dDm7sj This is the one I use mostly

Cool video bro
Best thing about being on a boat mate. We can just shoot to somewhere else.
Never heard em called bull minnows, we call em mud minnows here in Florida
Way to go mom, thanks for show
Keep doing the underwater footage. Good video.
The gsp pier has a horseshoe shaped group of structures that came from the pre- cast yard @ OB
I can’t believe there wasn’t any pinfish at least.
We need together and go to fort Morgan beaches and sharks 🦈 fish
Bama Saltwater invest in a aquavue HD you can actually watch in real time and you can watch the fish hit your bait.
Please if you can. Name the tackle shops where you can get good live bait from. I will be going to Gulf shores in May. Thanks 👍
Awesome video
Thank you !
Lol that’s what I was going to say where is the fish

all the fish hiding behind the go pro

i like the under water footage.
Camera under the water was way cool
What are a rod and reel that are perfect for 65lb braid
That's good content keep it up

Not yet, no telling when ! I hope soon.
Pretty cool.
