      Though I do think that some folks are very much jealous of biracials, this is more about the decrease of representation of black American women in the media over the years due to biracials constantly being cast as fully black American women when in the 80s and 90s, this wasn't the case. The tv and music industry was full of gorgeous black American women like Monica, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monet and Ciara, but this has dwindled down drastically with our representation being replaced by people who are biracial. Personally, I've had people from other communities essentially say that they prefer your aestethic over ours, which, honestly, was racist, but I understood the mindset immediately. They like what looks and us culturally closer to them, but in place of us and therefore will use y'all to substitute us.You're part of our community, but I think y'all need your own spot and not ours. None of this is your fault, though, but it is a problem.

It's just enough for them to tolerate and I don't like it at all. I see the deepest shades of Black women and I have always thought they are gorgeous. So I continue to fight for them. My parents got together and had me. I had no control over that, but I can help fight the injustice that I see and misrepresentation out here. Especially from guys like Chris Brown who do nothing but promote light skin biracial women in their videos. It's one thing to accept people into your community. it's another thing completely to place them on a pedestal and use them as a false representation of who you are. Even if they're black by some stretch of the imagination, they are not supposed to be the face of black women or representation for us.

    • @IndigoCosmic
      @IndigoCosmic Рік тому +1

      Tell that to the white people that control television media and magazines. If you don't want them to be the face of blackness, then come together with your money and create your own networks and magazines and advertising companies.

      @@IndigoCosmic When blk people get opportunities to be in charge of casting they express a notable preference for their biracial counterparts. E.g Kenya Barris whose greatest achievement is marrying a biracial woman since he never seems to shut up about it. Instead of making these silly claims you might want to check the imdb credits of many of the castings of "blk" women. Look for the casting director. Plus, yt people giving preference to biracials shouldn't be a shock. You forget that half-yt biracials are also their kids. Of course they'd give them preferential treatment. However the focus is what we accept and praise as representation.

    • @IndigoCosmic
      @IndigoCosmic Рік тому +4

      @durranofthetower7306 I'm not shocked that they're given preferential treatment, but it sounds like you forgot that in your original comment. So again, if black women specifically don't like who is being shown in the media representing them then Black Women need to come together with their money and create their own television networks and hire writers, actors and producers that they want to hire and not wait for white people or black men to do it. I mean, in Nigeria, literally, all of Nollywood films have black dark skinned women in them. Black women in America should follow suit instead of always complaining. Sure, there may be some black american women working towards that, but I never hear the ones complaining mention how they donate to these other womens projects. I mean, on Oprah's network, it's pretty much all black women on there. I've never seen a mixed woman as the lead character, so I don't get the constant complaining about these mixed women. If you know you're a black woman, why the need to point out that someone else isn't? I highly doubt a biracial woman calling herself black is going to change the identity in the minds of humans that darker black woman exist. Full blooded African women might as well do the same. If Black americans aren't 100% black because of slavery so then what?

    • @durranofthetower7306
      @durranofthetower7306 Рік тому +8

      @@IndigoCosmic My point is to call out the self-hate among black people themselves INCLUDING black women. The point is to change the destructive, self-hating mindset we have. A lot of bw have low self-esteem and have settled for living vicariously through biracial women. Black men on the other hand are very particular about their representation. The self-hate that causes them to place mixed people above themselves because of anti-black beauty standards. Black people before colonisation/slavery saw good and beauty in themselves and didn't worship people for being paler. We had lighter skinned people and nobody thought they were pretty just because they were lighter. Plus, there are more brown/darkskinned black people than there are lightskinned black people. I've been to multiple black majority countries to know this. When black people have a self-hating colorist/featurist and texturist mindset it results in them placing people that meet their self-hating standards above themselves. We're literally the only race that loves our biracials more than we love ourselves. Asians and whites don't put hapas above themselves and used them as the face of their community. It's weird. Plus with this mindset even when we have those platforms we end up perpetuating the exact same bs. We've seen countless shows where two black parents miraculously have a black son and mixed daughter. And whole time its a black person(man and woman) that was in charge of casting, the show is produced by a black person etc. Thats not how genetics work and no amount of gaslighting will change the fact that a person with two black parents and a biracial are not the same kind of person. Zazie Beetz was recently cast as stagecoach Mary, a woman phenotypically closer to Viola Davis and Lupit Nyongo. You know who made that happen? The casting director? An unambiguous, darkskinned black woman. So no, us having our own platform is clearly not enough. The mindset of how we perceive ourselves needs to change. Tbh, from looking at your profile pic I don't expect you to understand. People typically do not work to dismantle a system that benefits them. Y'all would rather keep the status quo in place because it benefits you.

I see you and others trying to pass off colorism as an act of "kindness" and "inclusion" that the black community extends to its lighter-skinned and biracial counterparts. Its not. There is an over-representation of biracial women in black media compared to black women. Even though way more black women exist. More numbers in the Black community means more political power. See the logic in that?

      @@sardonyx1165 you tried really hard with the guilt. Black people are not the only race to have racially-motivated hate crimes happen to us. They tend to happen to people that aren’t white. Just because we’re not white doesn’t make us all black. There’s no reason for everybody to try to fit under the same umbrella as us. We can have similarities while being different. Angela Davis and any other biracial people that fight for black rights are actually fighting for black and mixed rights. It is perfectly fine to distinguish between the two groups and recognize that we have had combined efforts, masked as one big movement. But when biracials benefit from not being predominantly black, we don’t. Why? Because we’re not the same. It creates dishonesty regarding the treatment of the black race, which can invalidate the experiences of black people. It also interferes with our statistics. So a lot of us would appreciate it if people could leave our identity to us. There’s nothing wrong with saying we had it wrong by following white supremacy’s rule with the “One Drop”. We can make the correction now.

      @sardonyx1165 Рік тому +3

      @@LimiLimi7 Aint no need for guilt... because where your comin from is understandable. But there is need for some clarity here. First off, while yes ,people of color in general are treated differently, you and I know God damn well there's a big ass difference between "poc" and Black.... Non black biracial people, do not face what black biracial people do... when a black biracial person gets profiled, it's not because they are of color... it's because they are BLACK.
      My Great Grandmother was actually biracial.... and she had Darkskin, as in actually dark skin... And 4c hair... and she only got a sixth grade education. Why? Because she was a black woman, who hussled to make sure her children could have more, do more, be more... gave birth to my granddad, a Darkskin Black Man... who indeed had her to thank for his starting point in life. He then went on to have my Mother, and just Like my great grandmother, my mother is a proud Black Woman...through and through... and my father a proud black man.
      Now why did I elaborate? To explain that while yes discrimination isn't exclusive to us as Black people, there is a very specific kind for us. At that point, Anti black racism don't care if yo daddy is half this or half that, At the end of the day, if you are black, one way or another anti black racism will treat you as such no matter where ,when or who you are.
      Now with that said.... here's what I do agree with.... Biracial Black people need to stop being the face of blackness... and we as the black community need to better uplift monoracial black people and stop exotifing biracial black people into stardom. Also more importantly, we need to learn to undue what the white man has done to our culture... what I mean by that, is stopping Colorism, Texturism, Featurism. We need to be proud of deeply melanated skin... Proud of Our One of a kind Crowns... and to quote Ari Lennox "stop hating our Royal Black Features ".... this is what we need to do. Not be fighting amongst ourselves. Angela fought for her people... black people. But it's like somewhere along the line we lost the message of those who came before us.... suddenly bashing each other rather than uniting...
      I myself despite having two black parents am lightskin. And I've seen how we talk about our own people, just because they are darkskin... abd I think that's sick and have never tolerated that kind of speech in my presence.... we are all equally beautiful and worthy of being seen. Women who are Meghan markle skin tone might be assumed to be white if we didn’t know she has a black mother but most of these other women look like the everyday sista. They are rich and famous but they wouldn’t have any privileges if they weren’t rich and famous. America decides your race based on appearance. It’s doesn’t matter if are biologically 50% black or not if you look like the everyday black person 9 times out of 10 you will experience the same level of racism and discrimination. The proud boys and other racist groups will still call a black biracial a nigger or beat or kill you even if you only have one black parent or not. The cops will still make assumptions about you whether you are full black or a black biracial when you apply for a job and if you check two boxes you can still be pressured to pick one if you look black depending on your employer. If you have even been to the South if you look black you will be treated the same as every other black person unless you are rich or famous. Nobody but people pushing a shallow immature narrative on UA-cam cares if you are technically an black biracial or not. The biracial narrative is null and void if you look black based on American standards. Also a lot of white parents will tell their black kids to identify as black because society will see them that way. The biracial narrative gives black people a false perception of how society will perceive them.99.9% of the time society views and treats black biracials as full black. The biracial narrative doesn’t prepare black people for how they will be treated by the majority of society. Perception is reality. The biracial narrative is harmful to black people because it makes some people think they will be treated fairly in certain situations in which they are treated horrible. The biracial narrative might naively encourage make some black biracials put themselves in dangerous situations where they could be beat or killed by white extremists. It is an disingenuous narrative. 50% blacks usually don’t look any different than the typical light skin black person that has 2 black parents. An abusive man might pick them first to control and victimize to be in an abusive relationship with but there is no privilege in that. 50% blacks are just as likely to be staked raped and have other forms of physical assault, stalked, and other forms of violence committed against them. 50% blacks who sometimes are raised in white communities because they have a white mother are given the same treatment as the everyday black personby society. The white parent might love her black child and treat them greatly but for the most part people that are prejudged towards blacks don’t treat people who are half black any better than those who are full black. The only time blacks receive preferable treatment is if we are rich. We can to disagree tho.

It's a shame that it if Black women paved the way for other Black women to have opportunities, and then those opportunities are given away to bi racials who in turn will not support Black people or represent Blackness at all except for the sake of self-advancement and profit and then taking those profits to the white community.

    The purpose of this is ACCURATE representation for Black women. In general, the representation of MONOracial Black women is usually that of biracial women, unless there's a direct and deliberate demand for a dark skinned sister, in which case, a statement is being made. Unambiguous Black women are constantly being compared to biracial women, in a "you're not the RIGHT kind of Black woman" way, as biracial women have become the standard of beauty within our community, which is unfair AF, because it's simply another way of using Whiteness (or proximity to) to minimize OUR beauty and worth.
    This isn't bashing or insulting biracial women. Monoracial/unambiguous Black women are finally making the distinction between us and biracial women because we'd like to represent ourselves ACCURATELY, finally. To show that you can have two Black parents and STILL be beautiful, since so many seem to think the opposite (before anyone flips out, think about how many times you've heard, "ooh you so pretty...what you mixed with?").
    We're tired of being represented by, and being compared to women who aren't us.
    It's funny though, I hardly EVER see biracial women THIS up in arms about the "separation" between us, and how racist it is when they're being put on a pedestal OVER unambiguous Black women....just an observation.

    Thanks for another separatist video, what a great help! GTHOH...sounds like a lesson in Genetics is needed..I swear we didn't always have this label issue.

      Separatist to say the truth? 🧐🤨 Biracials have been pigeon holed - they aren’t given their own category basically and this is usually in white populated countries. If you have two black parents and share the cultures that come with it, it’s not the same as ppl who might ‘look’ more black than their other genetic lineage. No one’s attacking them but it’s facts

      Just truth. We can still love and support one another but we have to be true first to ourselves. Each of us.

    I know people that 2 black parents born in Africa that look as light as them and my family there are mixed race people who are darker than them.
    So is it because of their tone of skin that you want clarification because this is a war we don’t need. Black people need to come together and if people want to claim heritage of one side of their family let them. Stop forcing block women to be lesser. We all stand together we build up not divide

      They have two different race parents stop it. If they can identify as full black. Then they can also identify as full white ☕

      I have been told this is a facial features matter not skin colour nor hair .
      Narrow nose and small nostril so if you have it you are mixed . Some people (foreigners) in Europe, and English speaking african not in France have been calling my sister biracial but
      Whatever. She is black not mixed like the rest of us. I mean we are caribbean and in our case , it's rather our grand fathers.
      Our parents are black ,it's just a lighskin and dark-skin.
      We are lighskin.
      So how can she be biracial, when both of her parents are black, looking like fully black African?
      Our father whose parents are black and white or biracial (mixed black and white ) and black ,came out looking just like fully African ( his facial features are african) ?
      Non sense.
      It's not because you have a narrow nose ,small nostril , thin lips that you are mixed . Her ancestors are Congolese according to history but she may have a set of múltiples of African countries, plus europe plus indian like all Caribbean Latino.
      By the way ,There are fully black or just african who look just like it and I have been told the fulanis for example.
      My sister hasn't got parent black and white or Indian and white ( mestizo ) ...
      Her hair is kinkier than mine so How is she mixed and I am not ?nor is our father ?
      The three of us are lighskin pecan brown but become fair and we also tan further shade dark.
      I have mixed hair ,mine is 3c4a and a tiny bit of Amerindian hair while she has kinky hair only and not 4a ,my father same and we all have the same complexion.
      So how is she mixed ?
      Why getting upset when caribbean people call themselves mixed despite being fully black physically?
      Their parents or grand parents or great grand parents aren't.
      In my case ,I have almost forgotten ,my grand father is amerindian (mixed)but he looks pure Indian, fully Indian with no mixture.
      Same with some caribbean latinos ,they may look fully african but their family isn't( their grand father,their great grand parents,their parents or one of her parents or grandparents).
      Recently, I learned that is rather a facial features matter but all my life or people from my area all their life ,we have been told this is a colour matter and hair too not facial features and even when being fair or pecan brown skin but become fair with 3 c hair they keep on calling us fully black Just african because of our facial features.
      What hipócritas!!!
      Black people with no mixture can have what society call European facial features( narrow nose, small nostril, thin lips ,straight nose , half lips )
      So you mean my sister is from Greece maybe ?
      Her ancestors ? Just because of her facial features?jajaja how ? She has two black parents looking like african?
      Jajajaja whatever !
      We have more than West Africa in our dna than others.
      You can have pinocchio nose and be fully black african .

      @@justme-qp8nz My mum has an ameridian father and her mother black whose parents were black and white.My father white and black or biracial and black . My mum came out as dark skin as wesley snipes black looking like fully black african ,whereas my father pecan brown skin like me and my bignsister ( we tan further black ) but become fair too .
      Guess what ? They have been told that they are fully african with no mixture (just because of their facial features) and about me they ( foreigners, English speaker african ...)call me fully black african looking just like Congolese too ( due to my facial features ) but not from my country or homeplace .
      I mean, we are african caribbean latinos, we have been told that caribbean is a mixture of amerindian , white ( for some),black and Hindu(for some ) after it's depend on people.
      They are also people from Lebanon...
      This is not a lie to me, my grand father is amerindian and black or black african, but look just like pure Indian.
      My sister is as light as me and as my father ,they said that she is mixed or looks mixed while she isn't( narrow nose,thin lips ).
      You can have thin or half lips ,and narrow nose .... straight and small nostril and be fully black african without mixture.
      I am so sorry ,my sister isn't mixed .
      She can't be more mixed than her father
      How comes? So you are telling that my grand father amerindian and my maternal grand mother whose children came out fully black and very dark skin looking like fully black dark skin african ,as dark as Wesley snipes and my lightskin father like me came out looking like fully black but just lighskin ,we become fair too and my mother born to an amerindian and her mother dark skin black looking like Congolese .
      I was born to them .I am light so you are telling me
      tomorrow, i have my child with someone from home african caribbean Latino looking like fully african ( according to English speaking african ) so my kid may come out amerindian while i am not nor is she my mother .
      Jajajaja whatever. No sense !

      Black mom and black dad = black baby
      Black dad and white mom= biracial
      Black dad and Asian mom= biracial
      Black dad and Armenian mom= biracial
      Make sense? This does not have a thing to do with the fairness or darkness of your skin. Biracial women are a Hollywood preferred phenotype. They are here to erase black women and appropriate black women.
