Yes that word "still" leapt out to me, thanks to following your work, Mr Hyatt. Absolutely huge fan over here in Britain. God Bless you and your family.🙏
"Still breathing" leapt out to me, too. I haven't researched 911 calls, but don't most people lead with what's wrong? It seems to me that if she was breathing when he called, wouldn't he lead with, "My wife's unconscious and there's blood everywhere!" or "She's *barely* breathing"? The latter would be more plausible because that carries the implication that her breathing is weak or labored, and thus an area of valid concern. But his making a point of the fact that she's "still" breathing makes me think that she wasn't breathing when Peterson made the call. Mind you, I'm not necessarily convinced that he attacked her. Michael Peterson is an author, and creating narratives is second nature to him. I think they had a fight, Michael stormed out, spent a long time sulking, and then returned to the house when he'd judged that she'd already gone to bed. Then he found her dead in a pool of blood at the foot of the staircase. He's bright enough to realize he'd be a suspect, but beyond that it's incompatible with his self-image to have been pouting by the pool as she died. So he had to come up with a story that made him blameless. It was an accident, nobody's fault! I wasn't chilling by the pool for an hour while she died, she was still breathing when I found her! Yes, I suppose it is possible that he attacked her and caused her death... but there's no evidence that he was an abusive partner before that, or even a guy prone to explosive outbreaks. But passive-aggressively ducking a confrontation he didn't want to have? That strikes me as more on brand for him.
A 911 operator commented on a different video that he was guilty based on his use of the word "still". According to the 911 operator, innocent people will say "she's breathing" or "she's not breathing".
Thanks Peter for explaining that bizarre Peterson’s 911 call. I’ve never believed his BS. I watched the Sundance channel’s original 2004 “Staircase” documentary by the French director Lestrade. It’s GREAT if you ever need to watch & listen to Peterson et. al. “in the raw” (he’s a rotten actor). Anyway the 911 call is the first thing viewers hear and I immediately said out loud: “Well that’s a wrap - he killed his wife”. I am not familiar with the case, but would like to address something you touched on. You referred to a documentary about the case which used music to influence emotional response from the potential viewers. I think this is a very common aspect of contemporary documentaries. And I agree it is very manipulative. I find it has almost become a cue for eliciting an emotional response. It implies that agendas are involved.
I loved the music! I highly recommend the original documentary series by Lestrade from 2004, I think it’s more complete than the recent remake docu. Lastly watch the 2022 series starring Colin Firth as Peterson (he’s SO good it gave me the creeps like MP did). The haunting soundtrack didn’t need to garner sympathy from viewers because MP had already been convicted of murder.
The Behavior Panel did an analysis of this too and they also addressed the fact that he immediately began laying the groundwork as to why it's not his fault...
Mr. Hyatt Mr .Logan in( the Delphi murders )wasn't charged with their murders and he is no longer living. But would you consider doing an analyses on his interviews, since he was initially a suspect? I saw that too. She had over a million dollars worth of art and other valuables, he took silver and many things, and he canceled his sons health insurance his mother wanted him to have. And I am glad he sees his father for who he is, now. His father is doing a press tour on British tv which makes me sick. You could tell that the female interviewer didn’t believe him.

What i "see" as having happened was him looming over her waiting for her to stop breathing, and as she didn't and a considerable amount of time passed he was annoyed that she was still breathing and started thinking, what if she does NOT stop breathing? I can't strangle her or hit her with something! He HAD to call 911 as she would not stop breathing, leaving her there for too long would seem suspicious at a later date whether she lived or died. Don't know if what i'm saying makes any sense, i'm trying to imagine how a murderous mindset would reason. Great analysis as always , Peter.
He gave it away in first few minutes into the show. Walking out of the house explaining that night. Said I went out here. Talking about going in the deck. Kathleen walking to the house he says it was the last time I saw her alive. Well wait!!! The last time I saw Kathleen alive was when she fell, but she was barely alive. He’s guilty and if you watch the show on Netflix, listen to his words. He slips up all thru the show. Remember that he’s a writer. He uses colorful words thru out. Like he’s telling a story. Same when they first spoke to Todd in the documentary. You can tell it’s a rehearsed story. Todd knew more than he was saying. Months after the show ended, Todd admitted he killed both women including his former wife. After knowing what I know now, and going back to watching the documentary again I can see everything stick out and so many red flags. He got away with murder three times in my opinion from watching and seeing what I saw.
Maybe with the amount of blood he’d panic seeing so much and assumed she was knocked out cold. I swear some of you over analyse the most basic things. If I found my elderly grandparent at the bottom of the stairs and they were verbally unresponsive but still had a pulse I’d probably say they’re still breathing. This doesn’t equate to me pushing them down the damn stairs.
@@mattb6704 most people would say “she’s breathing” not “still.” He was creating an alibi here. Maybe watch a few more of Peter’s videos and you’ll understand why that’s important.
Thank you Peter for another great analysis. I’m fascinated by how little things can give people away. I first saw you when you did the McCann analyses. I pinned Michael Petersen as guilty the moment I heard the 911 call. The gasping seemed fake. Saying she’d had an accident… How did he know? Saying she was still breathing and then on the next call saying she wasn’t, felt to me like he was trying to demonstrate a time of death being now rather than past. I feel if you were going to mention breathing, you wouldn’t need to even say “still”. You’d just say “they’re breathing!” If this was me and I’d genuinely discovered a loved one covered in blood at the bottom of the stairs I think I’d be more likely to say “hello, I’ve just found XXXX at the bottom of the stairs covered in blood…. They’re unconscious” Then I’d pause for breath and gather my composure so I could listen for questions. I don’t think the breathing would even come into it at that stage, you wouldn’t waste time, you’d call 911 for help and then try and work out if they are alive. I am not American, I’m English, but I found his attitude a bit condescending, like giving orders and then acting a bit stupid. The number of stairs question got him. He wasn’t expecting it. His call was all about setting his narrative, to make people believe his version of events: It was an accident, she’s alive. How can he possibly be guilty, he’s there. He wouldn’t be calling 911 if he was guilty (or so we are supposed to think!). More red flags than China.
Hi Peter outstanding analysis as per usual. I would like to request analysis of the Oprah interview done by Harry and Meghan, would be very interesting to hear analysis on that. Thank you and keep up the stellar work!
To me it's weird that she went in first and fell down the stairs and bled everywhere. Then Michael followed some time after (not having heard anything) and found her "still breathing" and called 911. So Kathleen was alove for however long ot took Michael to find her but then 5 minutes after he found her she stopped breathing... This man is a professional writer...
Could it be true that someone who (guilty caller) tries to beg the operator with “please please” in an attempt to manipulate the situation so that it seems like there could be some fault on the part of the emergency crew (if she looses her life) that it’s an attempt to spread the guilt also if they don’t get there soon enough ? I hope that made sense…
Yes agree and the second call (did I get that right there was a second?) hints at him making out they are taking so long he is making a record of his irritation.
That’s a stretch. Plus, the use of the word “please” is seriously meaningless. It’s more likely to be a sign of begging for help than anything else. Say you’re in total agony at the hospital and you’re saying “Please make it stop! Please!!”. Would you consider that to be a normal way to communicate when you’re in that much pain or would you automatically assume the person is lying and then just want pain meds?
If you watch episode 13, Michael LIES about Kathleen knowing about his sexuality.he says she was comfortable with it. The very next interview he goes into how in the 1950s you never let anyone know and he wishes he Could have made This leap, but it was impossible so he kept it a secret and it was fine. He then I says wish I could have made this leap with Karthleen, but I didn’t. He then says I wonder what she would have thought. He says I think she would have set it right and smiles. He just contradicted himself. Kathleen didn’t know, but she probably found out the night o f the murder when she used his computer!
Watching this 1 year later. I thought the guy was innocent after watching the documentary. Oh boy, I was naive. Around the same time I found Mr. Hyatts channel, and have watched every video since. Very informative and interesting content. Thank you Mr. Hyatt.
I watched the nexflix series and the tv series, and even though they both leaned towards to innocence, i didnt get that feeling. Thankyou peter for making up my mind
I noticed the similarity to PR too. I read a book by Andrew G Hodges recently and it confimed what I thought happened. I wonder what you think about it. Thank you for your lessons! Best wishes!
I hope you’ll make time to watch the tv coverage on this case. There are several crime shows that have featured this case in the past. Forensic Files is one. But the Netflix series and the new series in HBO are an excellent opportunity for you as an export to get another vantage point of how an audience can be persuaded through bias and propaganda. I know we all understand these concepts, but to see a particular case, with all the evidence, or lack thereof, masterfully presented to introduce doubt in the audience is extremely interesting on a psychological level. I wish you could do an in depth series on this case, and offer your insight if you were willing to do so, on how the facts of the case along with embellishment and omission could make for such riveting drama. Even though it is drama for entertainment sake, it’s still very much a study on how we perceive truth, how our perceptions can be faulty or swayed from our instincts, and ultimately how the justice system can fail or how it can prevail in even circumstantial murder cases. I always look forward to your videos by the way!
He was a storyteller by trade but had been out of work for 2 years. Kathleen was the breadwinner but they were in debt. Was she threatening to leave him I wonder? Kathleen was planned to be away on business the next morning but during the evening dinner she received a call from a colleague/friend. That friend told Kathleen that her husband was having a gay affair. A mature woman planning a busy Buisness trip wouldn’t usually be going to bed at 2am? Between evening meal and 2.40am Peterson had a lot of thinking time.
Can someone please tell me if there is a video where Mr. Hyatt brought up “Making A Murdered”? He’s very right about Hollywood. I’d love to know if there’s a video where he discussed that show.
The guy was so whiny. He lied about being a vet so this made me think that to lie easily about something that is offensive and insulting would be a slimy path to lying about murdering his wife. He just did not come across as a genuinely nice guy iimo. Thank you Peter.
12:21 By keeping on telling she is "still breathing", is he also not putting too much emphasis on a detail that is unnecessary? Would it not be more normal to say "she lays strangely", "I think she may have broken something" or maybe even "what can I do, she is very hurt"? Why this need to tell that she is still alive, should that not be a given, unless he had said "I think she is dead"?
The fact he felt compelled to include the word "accident' is very sus to me. No need to state the obvious especially when panicked. Besides the 'HOW' is irrelevant to this phone call (needing an ambulance). The only 'accident' most would report as an initial 'accident' would be traffic accidents because those two words are often synonymous. Even if your baby was found in a pool.....you still wouldn't tell the 911 operator it was an accident because whether they were pushed, submerged or fell in....that detail makes no difference when asking for help. Maybe as you're explaining things you'd mention 'accident' but not initially as Michael did!! Side note: I just binged watched Netflix: Love on the Spectrum (US) and I was so taken by this 63 yr old guy named Steve Spitz (whose father was also a writer/publisher like Michael) He reminded me SO much of Mike Peterson!! Voice, personality, mannerisms micro-expressions etc. Makes me wonder if Michael Peterson may have some sort of a physiological/mental disorder too 2-second snippet: ua-cam.com/video/86TrUPszc9Y/v-deo.html
For sure. Pick one or two or three disorders - he’s totally a Narcissistic Manipulator with some kind of split or dissociative personality disorder; pathological liar, serial killer, etc. He wasn’t even smart enough to evade murder conviction and incarceration. HUA syndrome. (Head-up-ass)
I think that you can fall from the top of the stairs, break your neck and die, but to have seven wounds in the skull is different. As for the call, it seems he never wanted for them to come in time, because she was already dead for some time prior to the calls.
How can parents who were responsible for an accidental death of their child (neglect - and then the hiding of the body), carry on a false narrative for many years...such as saying that the child was taken? Why don't they eventually "crack "?
The Mcann case is a huge cover up with government and elites involved . It’s the only reason for the huge amount spent on it . I think they have serious dirt on someone/ people and so are protected .
I think keeping up the facade for this long was always part of the plan but they are now trying to frame a certain German gentleman for it. They have no sold evidence against him at all.
Is "please" short for "so help me god please" The "please" added onto to his sentences is confusing. I'm used to hearing "please" preceding or following a request. To write a sentence with a period is to imply the stopping of a thought, or a place where there is a rest. So " . Please!" Isolated is passing strange Is it possible he heard the word please repeated prior to the call. Would he attempt to use her language when speaking to an individual/institution with more power than him? Sort of ... Reflecting the power dynamics of the prior event? Please!
I've always wondered why Michael saw Kathleen in that very bloody scene, severe blood spatter on the walls and stairs, why would he or anyone assume it was an accident. Maybe an intruder had snuck into the home to burgle it. Maybe Kathleen encountered this intruder who panicked and killed her. Wouldn't that make more sense, especially considering the amount of blood? We probably all have seen someone or experienced ourselves a fall down a stairs. Even if not, surely a person accidentally falling down the stairs wouldn't start bleeding all over the place with spray patterns on the walls (not to mention SEVEN serious scalp lacerations to back of the head)). At the point Micheal doesn't even know if the intruder is still in the house! Why does he go straight to 'accident? Why so conclusive at this point. He doesn't even qualify his observation with a "I think" she fell down the stairs. Nope, he knows she fell down the stairs. That's suspicious.
He’s also trying to justify why he is not doing CPR while he actually knows she is dead. He is saying STILL, knowing that time is moving forward to a point where she will be seen to be dead by others and he will be the one that TRIED to get help. I think this guy spent a good deal of time writing the script for the narrative of her death long before he had dinner and 2 bottles of wine and set the scene for the ‘accident ‘.
Eh this was basicly me when my mom broke her shoulder , I was so flustered and scared. Stammering confused and begging . Fingers crossed noone ever calls the cops on me
She wasn't breathing. He told the operator she was STILL breathing because a murderer wouldn't call 911 if his victim was still alive. When the operator asked if she was conscious he says "what?". Whether she was conscious or not was not part of his story. Then, at one point, he told the operator that she had "stopped" breathing
As an ICU trained nurse calling re an accident to my family would you take on board that I am making these type of calls as part of my work So would tend to be very calm, fact orientated
Peterson said he didnt see the accident he came across her lying at the bottom of stairs with blood ... so he wld say accident bcause he doesnt know what happened... before analysing the call you shld know the circumstances so you know what facts are being described or not being described honestly
It is called statement analysis. Peter analyzes statements given by people (suspects or anybody else). He can knot know all the circumstances, he works with the words in their statements.
Does anyone know where Peter talks about "making a murderer". And it doesn't surprise me that it's a propaganda piece because that's all Netflix makes.

Excellent Peter, as usual ! 😊
Thank you.
Love your channel, you and Pat Brown.
Sound observations. The “last time” he saw her alive was key. Very good!
Thanks Mr. Hyatt appreciate and enjoy your videos. ✌️
“She’s **still** breathing!” What??? STILL?? Huge, glaring red flag!
@@mattb6704also the blood had dried when the paramedics got there. Very unlikely that she was breathing when he made the 911 call.
I am not getting the notifications.Glad to find you have done another analysis,Peter!
Excellent. Good you’re no biased from the documentary although I can highly recommend it.
5;48 priority - he wants them to know it was an 'accident'.
You’d just say “they’re breathing!”
If this was me and I’d genuinely discovered a loved one covered in blood at the bottom of the stairs I think I’d be more likely to say “hello, I’ve just found XXXX at the bottom of the stairs covered in blood…. They’re unconscious”
Then I’d pause for breath and gather my composure so I could listen for questions.
His call was all about setting his narrative, to make people believe his version of events:
It was an accident, she’s alive.
I agree !
We thank you for bringing such an interesting subject to us. We can learn so much from your analysis of these matters. Thank you.
Another Patsy Ramsey, "please, please," "what?" "Please, please." 😐😑
Thats exactly what I thought. The calls are so similar!!!
100% agree.
Very interesting what you do. Thank=you for your analysis!
Great content, always good to see how you analyse things. Please could you look into this particular case more in depth?
Fascinating as always Peter.
"She is still breathing"... This assertion makes me think thet Michael knew she was going to die.
911 operator: “What’s wrong?”
Peterson: “…she is still breathing”
That says it all - the fact she’s breathing is the perceived problem.
But he looks guilty in the Netflix show, doesn't he?
He was a storyteller by trade but had been out of work for 2 years.
Kathleen was the breadwinner but they were in debt. Was she threatening to leave him I wonder?
Kathleen was planned to be away on business the next morning but during the evening dinner she received a call from a colleague/friend. That friend told Kathleen that her husband was having a gay affair.
A mature woman planning a busy Buisness trip wouldn’t usually be going to bed at 2am?
Between evening meal and 2.40am Peterson had a lot of thinking time.
This is interesting. Where did u get this info? Thanks!
@@Stargazer77779
I have watched several documentaries
Can someone please tell me if there is a video where Mr. Hyatt brought up “Making A Murdered”? He’s very right about Hollywood. I’d love to know if there’s a video where he discussed that show.
No such thing as an accident coincidence or mistake for ALL IS SYNCHRONOUS
This case isn’t even complicated that’s the scary part!
Side note: I just binged watched Netflix: Love on the Spectrum (US) and I was so taken by this 63 yr old guy named Steve Spitz (whose father was also a writer/publisher like Michael)
He reminded me SO much of Mike Peterson!! Voice, personality, mannerisms micro-expressions etc. Makes me wonder if Michael Peterson may have some sort of a physiological/mental disorder too
2-second snippet:
ua-cam.com/video/86TrUPszc9Y/v-deo.html
Good point! No need to state the obvious...
That sounds like a show about autism. Mike is a psychopath, not autistic. Those are almost opposite traits.
Hi Peter could you look into the Idaho 4 murders please?
I think that you can fall from the top of the stairs, break your neck and die, but to have seven wounds in the skull is different. As for the call, it seems he never wanted for them to come in time, because she was already dead for some time prior to the calls.
How can parents who were responsible for an accidental death of their child (neglect - and then the hiding of the body), carry on a false narrative for many years...such as saying that the child was taken? Why don't they eventually "crack "?
@Archer Chalice yes, good point. I view my life based on the next - eternity. That is probably the difference in my thinking...
The Mcann case is a huge cover up with government and elites involved . It’s the only reason for the huge amount spent on it . I think they have serious dirt on someone/ people and so are protected .
@@clairelees6718 you obviously knew who I was speaking of... :-)
I think keeping up the facade for this long was always part of the plan but they are now trying to frame a certain German gentleman for it.
They have no sold evidence against him at all.
@@bettyboo8214 if it is the case that they are responsible and are going to let another take the fall, that is evil...
Can you please review some of Amber Heard’s statements?
Love your channel!
Is "please" short for "so help me god please"
The "please" added onto to his sentences is confusing. I'm used to hearing "please" preceding or following a request.
To write a sentence with a period is to imply the stopping of a thought, or a place where there is a rest. So " . Please!" Isolated is passing strange
Is it possible he heard the word please repeated prior to the call. Would he attempt to use her language when speaking to an individual/institution with more power than him? Sort of ... Reflecting the power dynamics of the prior event?
Please!
Please do Marty Tankleff’s 911 call next.
Do you plan to do analyses on Johhny Depp Amber Heard case?
Yes, the Trying to be Polite at Intervals was Weird.🚩
Try is so trying
You’re good.
Eh this was basicly me when my mom broke her shoulder , I was so flustered and scared. Stammering confused and begging . Fingers crossed noone ever calls the cops on me
Did you also say she had an “accident” because by these morons standards, perhaps you actually pushed your mom down the stairs and broke her shoulder.
Everything about the 911 call is creepy😮
Hiya Peter, I dislike biased 'documentaries' also.
The Staircase is worth watching, it doesn't seem to try to persuade.
I have one question for the people who know this case.. why the feathers in her hair if it wasn’t ‘an owl’ like he claims?
All those infelicities from a TrueCrime author! He is like a restaurant advertising exquisite dinning...
The Documentary was truly one sided and disrespectful to the brutalized Victim.
Really? I came away from it thinking he was guilty.
As an ICU trained nurse calling re an accident to my family would you take on board that I am making these type of calls as part of my work So would tend to be very calm, fact orientated
Yes. Context always matters.
What kind of Dr was he? Not medical.
Hi Peter, can you look into the Amber heard and Johnny Depp situation. I personally cannot work out who’s telling the truth.
Johnny is telling the truth .Watch the behavioural panel …
Johnny is the truthful one
They're both telling some truth and telling some bullsh-t.
I’d like to hear PH's thoughts on some of the statements and testimony.
Did he really say 'she is still breathing'
If your in a hurry you'd say 'she's'
GUILTY AS SIN, so obvious.
Do The Murdaugh 911 calls
I cannot help it, but this 911 call seems all fake. It immediately felt like he was acting.
First time seeing your channel. Interesting, but who are you?
Watch his Richard D Hall interview called embedded confessions.
Pls do some of these amber heard testimony. So good.
