When the tour guide mentioned Gladdick McBean it caught my attention. My relatives worked for them in the early days in LA area. My aunt was involved in the ceramic division of art. I appreciate all that you do for us, Jordan, in keeping us well informed. I remember seeing the movie about Agnes life story. Glad she was able to bring comfort to others despite all her negative & sad experiences. God blessed her efforts, I’m sure. ❤️🙏🏻🌈🌹

How compassionate was the founder to devise a place of peace for those wearied by the rigors of Hollywood (among other things)! Amazing tour. What a place; would that many could learn from this example from long ago. You feel like you're walking into someone's bedroom and they just walked out! Unusual to be able to handle things like that in a sort of museum.

This was a good one Jordan. It really got me. Reminiscent of a place my Mother was in, early sixties in Scottsdale. Beautiful but sad. The Lady who started this must have been a true Angel. Thanks for taking this tour. Deeply touching.

KLEARSKI THE KREEPER ...I'm sorry you lost your wonderful pet! I had to do the same thing with pets over the years. My suggestion is get another pet who needs you and whom you need too. Your gift to an animal is giving them a good and loving home. And their gift to you is unconditional love. I know you muss your sweet and the love you have will always be there in memory now. Just remember you were a great pet care person and took the best care of your beloved pet. Which meant everything to the animal!

What a forward way to treat their residents for the time period in history of sanitariums. I get the same feeling as you, that it is more of a hotel or retreat. It would have been so much more peaceful for those that lived there ....enjoyed this, thanks for taking the time to go and vlog this on the only day you could do so. I'm looking forward to the rest of the vlog.

It's a lovely place set in so much space with nice light rooms and breezy porches. Women aren't allowed to have nervous breakdowns now, they have to do everything and smile and be sexy too. It's insane.

Hey Jordan just want to say how much I enjoy your vlogs. I discovered you when I came across the Dearly Departed Tours website which I want to do some day! I also love that you include Jah in your adventures. You have a great ability to put your audience in the same places that you visit. It is a gift. Keep up the great work. I commend you on my new favorite UA-cam channel!

Great find Jordan, very remarkable sanitarium. It has more of a family house feeling than a cold scary hospital. The ladies would have been so much happier.I love the Spanish style architecture we guys have. Great work Jordan and you spoilt us with 2 vlogs- have a wonderful week everyone.

Hey Jordan! You're right Clark Gable had 5 wives: Josephine Dillon 1924-1930,Maria Prentiss Lucas 1931-1939,Carole Lombard 1939-1942, Lady Sylvia Ashley 1949-1952 and Kay Williams 1955-1960.

What a nice facility. Nothing like that place exists for people today. And only the best insured receive therapeutic treatment today. So most die homeless or alone. Nice to see what used to be, but sadly is no more.

Jordan I expect that many of the patients did not volunteer-for the shock treatments. I think I read one time that Francis Farmer did have multiple shock treatments. Those were rough during those times.

Great video Jason really enjoyed it I can see where many of the objects range from early 20s to probably sometime through the late 70s . I believe Clark Gable's first wife was an older woman who was an acting instructor/ teacher , came to Second Life she had money and two children by a previous marriage first name started with an R , then Carol Lombard , last one lady Ashley and I believe that is who gave birth to John Clark Gable. Thank you for showing this I found it extremely interesting wondering what the paranormal group is going to come up with . I have seen a video of Marilyn Monroe's mother being interviewed sitting on a bench I couldn't help but wonder if that was that small area of benches that you showed , in either case well done!

For those that are interested Gladding McBean is still very much in business and Huell Houser (Rip), has done several shows regarding the ceramic work which this company has produced and which I'm sure you know about Jason . Many people do not even realize they're looking at a lot of McBean ceramic works of art located on buildings throughout Los Angeles and other areas of the country.

Ok so this was a two part Vlog
I watched the last part first. So this place is closed. I'm just seeing this Vlog for the first time. I'd love to have seen this place. If they wrote a book it would definitely sell, if they made a movie, the History alone would be worth seeing. Providing they had the right people to play the part. Of course I'd heard that Marilyn Monroe mother was in a sanitarium.i didn't know about Billie Burke. This place has A lot of History. No it don't look like a Sanitarium, but because it don't the ladies that stayed there was probably more comfortable. It reminds me of Roosevelt Warm spring rehab. But both male and females was there. There was a few residents that lived there. My BFF had cerebal palsy.she couldn't walk till she was 2 they had to put artificial ligaments. At the time she was there it was for children.it was strictly physical and occupation therapy. The last time I visited was 87 we were going to the little white house, one of my sister had to go pick up a wheelchair. That place was huge. They had a movie theater. They was making plans to build a hospital on the property. They also taught classes. Had a dormitory for students. Now I want to go back and see what improvements they have made. Thanks Jordan 👍.this is a very interesting Vlog. I'll rewatch both parts in the right order. I'd loved to have visited this place.✌️ Love, respect and positivity always. Vee J.🙂🖖👋.
