Years ago I was in Las Vegas and the Gatlin Brothers were the opening act for Anne Murray. The audience went wild over the Gatlins and almost didn't allow Anne Murray to take the stage. They are the best!
I worked at the Opryland Hotel when I lived in Nashville. The Gatlin Brothers were regulars, especially during Christmas and would come to our office and visit. Our manager was good friends with them. I had no idea who they were, but learned soon what legends they were.
I have always liked this song since i started listening to country music. I was 10 years old. Listen to some older country and it great. Lustre to a mix of new stuff too.
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe!
I was there driver when they came to my city.Rudy is a great guy. Larry at first was a bit of himself but when he realized I was not an adoring fan he was a great guy. Steve travelled with the band and so really not interacted with him but after that I was fans of the Gatlins.
Season Five episode 2 "True Detectives". Very different rendition. I knew I knew it but I had to google it to remember it. I don't know when this was televised but I must say they all held up well. Those were good days when these guys first came around
A little memory.. I was at the Houston Astrodome many, many years ago…Larry Gatlin & Bros got on the elevator.. they were the group playing that night .. I haven’t thought about that in many, many years..

OK, I was 11 when I heard this song the first time... At my uncle Bill's house in the hills of southern Indiana... wooden floors, chicken coops, steers in the pasture, and about 20 adults getting completely "righteous" for hours until the sun came up... Things at 11, I would go on later to understand... Still the best A-Capella voices I have ever heard...
What a Song! I remember hearing that song played and sung by the Gatlin Brothers back when I was about 15 or so. Its just as pretty today as it was then. Having the original band and singers ices the cake so well!! Well Done!!!
Hi!!! Just saw your comment....a couple years later. lol Just a FYI: there's no one in the original "band" on this video, but they're great musicians on here. (ex pro touring musician here) Fantastic video though!!! God Bless!
Gaitlin brothers thanks very much, and yes California is brand new game as apartment owners yearly raise rates!!! Only the Lord Jesus can make us overcome the prices with faith and state rebates. Thank You Lord Jesus and your mighty Ministers giving your word now and eternal. For great singers like Gaitlin bros, Oakridge Boys, the Bill Gaither quartet,&singers

I remember dad had this record in the 70s plus he sometimes sang it as he was always involved in a band. Then in 2018 I went to The Ryman Auditorium and watched the Gatlin Brothers play it when Larry was the host of the show. He had a little faster tempo and I really liked that version of it.

Time: 0:33 . Always loved the Gatlin brothers, sincerely played this song a million times It has never hit like this morning I will make a statement at the appropriate time in hopes it will show light on the Man I truly am. My deepest apologies for the confusion I have been trying to find out my true diagnosis for months now and all will be revealed at that time 0:45
So this was my first official hand me down from my Mother. She had one of their records but not the regular ones. The 35’s I believe they were called. An I had this little record player an I loved this song! I couldn’t been more then 10ish. An I was born in 74. I’ve always loved this song because was my first like favorite song.
33 rpm - "LP", Long Playing (- usually around 10 songs -). 45 rpm - "Single" (-1 song each side -). I miss the old records, myself, except when it comes to carrying them around 😉
I recently bought a 1988 Chevy truck with a 454 gas hog and It has a factory cassette player. I went to a flea market and bought the Gatlin bros, Statler Bros, Kenny Rogers and Restless Heart on cassette. Tonight we celebrated my good friends 40th bday by driving around at 8 mpg listening to the cassettes and enjoying every minute of it to a 6 pack of Schlitz… :) it’s a tru story!!!!!
They are a shell of their former selves when they first sung it, but they still got it. Of course I listened to their original recording from the 70s. I listened to the the original version here because I'm almost 17.
Hi to everyone from Russia. Great song, awesome vocal, catchy music. But please, someone of native speakers, paraphrase the line "winding up a zero". What does it mean here in the context? Thanks in advance :)
Yes, I’m here because of the Gemstones - and we should all be grateful that anything is introducing people to such great music and performers. ❤️

I really miss country music on the radio. I remember when this song was part of many that made up country. Such a shame it's gone today.

Great song. I moved to CA in '79. Used to hear this song as my dad drove me to school. Great twangy guitar, harmony vocals, and cool key change.
