I put a y8 head on mine and have been beating the crap out of it for a few years- chipped ecu= 7500rpms everyday. Pretty quick for something that gets 38mpg hwy. You will eventually want to swap it out to a B or H but a fun motor to beat on nonetheless.
Install the crank before pistons and rods. makes it easier.. Be careful w the rod bolts so they dont scratch crank journels. Use some rubber hose over the bolts. Main, rod and head bolt should be torqued in three steps using proper sequence. Check bearing clearances with plastigage and rings with feeler gauge.
I have a D15B7 completely stock all the way around. Started Working on my car 2 years ago replacing parts, tuning it up, cleaning it up, replacing seals, O Rings etc.... Can someone make a list of things I can do to this engine to get more Horsepower out of it?
You can't just casually mention the thrust washers after-the-fact. A first-time builder will have to be shown when to do it. Yet another reason to put in the crank first.
oil ring specs in the main crank bearing and with the oil spec in the rod bearings?? mesuring not? only after that you should install the pistons.... you are instaling new piston rings and you dont hone the cilinder whalls??? very good mechanic....

...or K but at that kind of money just get a real rwd car.

Steel cranks are less prone to being nicked but you still want some vacuum tube over rod bolts

Lol they forgot to put the thrust bearings in
Nice video. Keep up the good work!
Cool video!!!!
They have different kind of engine lub,
They has some that has oil lubricants
Siick
Great videos guys but much easier with crank in first ;)
Where did you get your rebuild kit?
What type of rod bearings did you use ?
Hi, torque specs??
That crankshaft doesn't look micro polish 🤔
Love the b7 I turbo charged mine. Gonna rebuild it soon or just rebuild the head and throw some pistons in it soon!

cylinder walls were honed out before install. We measured with the previous ones.
