'Point Break' is my ultimate favourite movie of all time; I relished it as a young kid when it came out on VHS and honestly it helped shape me as a person. I hired a bar with a 'cinema' to screen it for my birthday a few years ago, and when I met Kathryn Bigelow after a 'Hurt Locker' Q&A she seemed happy when I informed her of my adoration for her work and that her movie had made me learn to surf and jump out of airplanes. RIP Patrick Swayze aka The Bodhisatva. Excellent video JoBlo!
I saw Point Break in 1991, it was a double feature at a drive-in theatre about a year before it closed. The other movie was Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Probably the ultimate early 90s movie experience
my buddies and me watched this movie a lot, and I mean a LOT! we would sit around watching it with the sound off and each of us doing the dialog of the characters memorized by heart. Yeah this movie is 10/10. And strange days was pretty freaking awesome too.
I love Point Break great flick and wonderfully cast. Swayze was awesome in everything he did, my wife and daughters love Dirty Dancing. Also Loved appearance of Anthony Kiedis of The Chili Peppers. We cant forget Busey in his role, overall just a GREAT film!!!
"Utah, get me 2." This is by far the greatest surfing 🌊 cops and robbers flick starring 2 of Hollywood hottest hunks Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. The long take chase scene between Reeves and Swayze through backyards is the best I have seen on film. This was James Cameron's 2nd biggest blockbuster. As he was the producer on this flick that was directed by his ex wife Kathryn Bigelow. It was so good, that it's plot was ripped off for the first Fast and Furious movie.🍕🍕🍕
Which movie did the cop gets too close to the criminals and (almost) sides with them movie did it best? Point Break? Terminal Velocity or The Fast and the Furious?
An absolute masterclass in action filmmaking! One of my wife and I's all time favourite movies, so your definitely on to something there when you say Bigelo had the appeal to woman action fans too. Watching your making of B roll footage just reminded me how much this movie is SCREAMING out for a definitive 4K Ultimate Special edition. Superb!!
I watched this on the Calais - Dover Cross channel ferry ⛴ that year, coming home from Cologne Germany and was strung out, feeling about as low as I've ever felt as a young man, this movie however was there on the ships cinema and my senses being acute I devoured it and to this day its one of my favourite flicks., good job with this 👏🙏❤️
Good covering this classic! Just watched this for the first time in a long time. I forgot how good it was. Looking back, it’s a real masterpiece of action film. Goes beyond the surface level adrenaline rush with some deeper vibes. I feel inspired by it. Probably won’t go as far as robbing banks but skydiving sounds good.
Best movie ever! Hence my channel graphic Avatar. Watch it at least twice a year, absolute classic. It was unfortunate it came out same sort of time as T2 ! So James Cameron got his own back on his Ex. He helped with Point Break as executive producer which probably explains again why again it’s so amazing. Don’t want a sequel.
I love this movie so much. Remember seeing it as a kid and feeling so betrayed that Swayze was the baddie. Couldn't believe it as I loved Roadhouse. Ps. I remember reading the title got changed to Point Break because the Oliver Stone The Doors movie was made around the same time...
After walking away from the FBI Johnny Utah felt disillusioned with his life and decided to see out a new path of awakening becoming the Baba Yaga John Wick.
Underrated Review! Point Break is the mother of so many Action Film templates & tropes -- It makes me want to surf and was intense enough to get me to Skydive! Def.a movie u proudly introduce to a new generation who only know the Matrix & John Wick. Btw Swayze & Keanu have great sounding Star names that fit the Zen Action genre. A philosophical connection the remake lacked. (Come to think of it, reminiscent of themes in Bruce Lee films.) 🤛🐉🌊🏄♂️🤙
This is a definitely a movie I enjoy when it's on TV. The remake was an abomination! No one can touch the magic that Swayze and Keanu brought to the movie!
The tense moment where the off-duty cop was convincing the security guard to back him up during the big robbery scene was my favorite part of the movie.
One thing I remember about Point Break is the simple fact that's what Nicholas Angel and Danny was watching on Hot Fuzz. The remake though is very forgettable. Just like the remake of Conan the Barbarian. I know I saw that movie but I can't remember a thing about it.
Everybody always mentions that the Fast & the Furious was a Point Break remake, but Point Break was itself a remake of No Man's Land with Charlie Sheen.
That moment when Keanu jumps out of the plane without a parachute.....one of the most bad ass scenes of all time. So much so that now it's become a cliché.
My thing is this, The Fast and The Furious is most definitely a spiritual Reboot of this than that of the actual Train wreck of a Reboot they actually did and yes I would've loved a sequel to this with Kathryn Bigelow in the big chair.
This is actually my favorite movie of all time. You guys have been killing it with all the James Bond content lately too! “Yes, the surfboard bothers me. Yes! Your approach to this whole goddamned case bothers me, and YES! YOU BOTHER ME!” RIP Patrick
This movie was perfect.... Bohdi was like the anti-hero you couldn't help but root for but by the end of the movie Utah basically became a version of Bohdi... I wish they still made movies like this.
Had a huge crush on Lori way beck when. Was 15 Years old when POINT BREAK came along. Loved the movie. NO CGI. Thats what I love about movies of the past and still do. CGI has really made movies look so less real. What would you rather do as an actor (real life action or standing infront of a green screen and pretending) I know what I would choose.
One of my all-time favorite movies. I used to watch it all the time as a kid. It has that early 90’s cheese about it, which I like. I miss hard R rated action movies. Pretty much everything now gets watered down to PG-13 to sell more tickets. Shame. “You’re telling me the FBI’s going to pay me to learn to surf?” - One of Keanu’s best lines lol
Synopsis: An undercover F.B.I agent infiltrates a gang of surfers, suspecting they might be bank robbers. My hats off to you Kathryn Bigelow, for taking such a ridiculous premise and making it work spectacularly.
It's a time capsule and it is definitely one of the best movies action wise because they were real. Real people doing real stunts. Not a computer generated mess that nobody can follow.
Love this movie I saw this in Boyz in the Hood on the same day. And when I finish watching fast and the furious I turned to my friend and told her this is point break
build up how to watch that movie in a heartbeat when I heard the second movie I could just see dread and failure but the way you laid it out that would totally be a sell.
Bro in those times Patrick Swayze was on fire and had hits in different genres with Dirty Dancing, Ghost and cult favourite Roadhouse also no one knew that Reeves could do action as he was in mostly supporting roles and was into comedy movie Bill and Ted. But after Point Break Keanu also got to make another action classic Speed.
Point Break - When the conditions are perfect a point break can create a really long wave to ride as the wave wraps around a point or headland and then runs along the coastline of a bay or cove. Point breaks can have rock, coral, or sandy bottoms
Point Break - The point where a human breaks within the limited established boundaries he has subconsciously set within himself... and then evolves into a higher form of his new found self. Limited Utah, transcends into his higher self through Bodhi's free style teachings.... or were you sleeping while you were watching this?
@@adambane1719 Maybe we both were. Did you know the surfing term ? I knew of human breaking point terms. (It's common parlance and indeed the name of a TV series and somewhat of a trope) Who has educated who ? Since the title encompasses both definitions and only did it so well after it was changed from a skating movie. Or have you been sleeping through your entire life ?
One of the rare films that just NEVER gets old, and you find yourself just randomly wanting to watch it. 10/10.
They even re-used the story for the fast and the furious 1.
What did you think of the remake?
Like at 4:41 a.m. est 8/24/2022 lol 😆
Indeed 😊

My favorite of all time too. For over 30 years
Loved this movie, and Patrick Swayze was a perfect adversary for Keanu Reeves
One of my favorite movies of all times! RIP Patrick Swayze
Hear hear!
Watching any other film would be "a waste of time!!"
I saw Point Break in 1991, it was a double feature at a drive-in theatre about a year before it closed. The other movie was Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Probably the ultimate early 90s movie experience

Saw this at the movies when it came out.
More than once!
THE best chase scene in any movie.
And I still haven’t watched the remake, nor will I.
Ive lost count how many times Ive watched Road House over the decades. I think I watched it again last year, or was it this year?
I still love that movie.
This film proves the importance of excellent story writing, directing, and casting, saw this in the theater back in 91 incredible movie then and now
"Yo, Johnny! I'll see you in the next life!" -RIP Patrick Swayze
Vaya con dios.
YES! You totally captured what makes this a masterpiece.
so glad i grew up to this movie. still love it to this day.
Real stunts, real action, no CGI. Looks so good!
Such an iconic movie that there’s a brewery in Seattle that names their beers “Johnny Utah”, “Bodhizafa”, and “Warchild”.
I'm serious Warchild, back off.
@@captaint9353 He's with me.
This is stimulating, but we're out of here
Riders on the Storm was actually a really good title.
I agree

Utah! ✌️ Two

This is the ONLY surfing 🌊 cops and robbers flick starring 2 of Hollywood hottest hunks Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves.
Just …no. Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens, Titanic, Avatar. This is no more than his SIXTH biggest blockbuster.
An absolute masterclass in action filmmaking!

Superb!!
Best movie of 1991. Saw it in theaters back when it first came out. Last year glam rock was still mainstream.
I watched this on the Calais - Dover Cross channel ferry ⛴ that year, coming home from Cologne Germany and was strung out, feeling about as low as I've ever felt as a young man, this movie however was there on the ships cinema and my senses being acute I devoured it and to this day its one of my favourite flicks., good job with this 👏🙏❤️
Point Break is an awesome action film!! It still kicks ass today!! Love this movie to death!! I love it so much!
just one of the best action movies ever made! a masterpiece!
Love this movie!! Thank you for making an AMAZIMG video about it! I love your comments on Kathryn Bigelow ❤️ 👏
In grade school my dad found a copy of Point Break in a parking lot & I watched it 100 times that year. UTAH, GET ME TWO!
really 10/10, one of my childhood classics
Classic. Saw PB in theatres when it came out, while on vacation with my family in Wildwood NJ. Still one of the best action films I've ever seen.
I LOVE this tribute. Can't believe I never saw it before. Beautiful job, and I agree abut your sequel idea and that garage reboot attempt.
Good covering this classic!

Rewatched last night, such a fun flick. You're spot on that a remake with old keanu as the mr. miyagi of surfing would be epic
This is a definitely a movie I enjoy when it's on TV. The remake was an abomination! No one can touch the magic that Swayze and Keanu brought to the movie!

Great video, and I wholeheartedly agree with how bad the remake was...and how badly we need a proper sequel!!
Great movie, great video, just suscribed
Can you imagine our timeline if Point Break was a major mega hit?
Man imagine Point 9 with Triple H as Bohdi’s brother circa 2002

Been a long tome since I sat down and watched this action epic. Looks like its back on my movie watch list
Definitely a 10/10 Stallones!. Thanks for this.
This movie is so stereotypically Californian and I love it

This movie is awesome, far better than the recent remake.

Fun fact: anthony kiedis's father was an actor as well. Playing in only small roles. He played the drug dealer in the first lethal weapon.
You didn’t even mention the fact that point break is so significant the mighty God of thunder Thor has point break as his nickname 😝
Not all of your "clips" are gold, but you knocked it out of the part with POINT BREAK!
