To the dinghie issue, you should check out Sailing Yaba's solution to the issue, theirs is much grungier but they solved it by injecting expanding foam into the air bladders... It's cheaper than a new one and yours is not really that crusty, just chronically leaky. It's a suggestion at least! You and the ladies be safe! 😊

Teal, as you were carrying all those ropes and bumpers, I kept saying aloud, "DON'T HURT YOUR SHOULDER!!!!" I thought all that equipment would do damage to your arm again. It didn't sound like that happened, so that was a relief. All the best as you get through the canal. I'll watch your next video to see how that went. I won't be going through there anytime soon, that is one expensive avenue to travel.

As for the dingy. I have suggested before a ZeroJet OC tender. They are absolutely wonderful tenders! I can not say enough about wonderful they are from personal experience. I run a ZeroJet OC400 here in Puget Sound, and I always have people, even Port Police and Harbor Patrol asking to check it out. It is awesome never having to get fuel anymore or deal with engine maintenance, and other os so Lite and strong.

Hey Teal, some advice from father to father. When the boyfriends start turning up for Emma, buy a replica pistol. Then sit on the sofa polishing the pistol, the conversation goes like this Teal: "when are you guys going to be back at the yacht tonight ?". Emma: "I think around 12 to 1am". Teal: "I think 10pm is about right". The boyfriend takes a quick look at the pistol: "I think we should be back by 9:30". My daughter is now in University in London - I've never had one problem with the boyfriends....😉

They will have to hang out in the southern Caribbean, as it is hurricane season right now, and this is probably a few weeks behind. We have already had one huge named hurricane blast through the Caribbean doing some major damage as far south as Granada (where a lot of cruisers go to hang out till the season passes) most years it doesn't get hit. This year they need to stay as far south as they can. It also hit Cozumel.

#1)coming into the Caribbean in hurricane season,, not sure that's a smart idea!!. 🤔
#2 your in a major city. Ya think you could find a dinghy store there somewhere.
    Pennywise-pound foolish!!😮
    Just get one already...

      1) We will be staying south of latitude 10 for this season. So much to see and explore.
      2) A new dinghy cost 2-3 times the engine price for a basic model and 3-5 times for more of a deluxe model. This is our first opportunity to get a new dinghy since leaving Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. There is simply no stores that would have them. You will see how we resolve our dilemma in the next few episodes.

18 is the minimum drinking age in Panama, in public/restaurant/sales. No age limit in private.
I always find the USA 21yo limit in public for sales weird - you can drink in private under that age, though it varies from state to state apparently, yet the age of sexual consent is in the USA is 16 and age you can go to the army and kill or be killed is 18. go figure....

@@mikemeazell5653 On the contrary, ther is a lot. But from a travelling standpoint alone, 15 000 kilometers or 8 000 nautical miles at 10 knot for say 10 hours per day equals at least 80 days of travel, and that is without rest.
Divide the transfer fee for Panama Canal for boats up to 65 feet (roughly 3 800 USD) by 80 days and you get 47.50 USD per day to spend on fuel, docking fees and food for three people (and a small dog).
On the other hand, the distance through the Panama Canal between Colón Port and Panama City, is about 70 kilometers (or 38 nautical miles).
      I'd say 3 800 USD for a passage is a fair deal.
