Some have said that you shouldn’t have got the ponies and planted the gardens. I would have done exactly the same as you. Your mental enjoyment of live is far more important. Imagine every single day for a year, nothing but cottage bomb site. You need pleasure in your life and something to take time out with. Plus you’re eating so much of your food, it has to be a win win. Same with painting the caravan. The longer you look at something depressing you, the quicker you will become down at heel. So good on you guys xxxxxxx
Also, Growing your own food not only saves money and trips to the store, it is more nutritious and ultimately better for your muscles and mental health.
Cori you need a small sponge roller with tray use the brush to cut in the edges and then use the roller to paint all the surfaces you can with the roller .you get a much better finish and it will take half the time.
Thanks for Bringing us Ireland! You guys are fantastic!!! ❤ As a teacher we always change the environment to nourish learning. So change is great for your brain! Good Job!!
None of us excepted 'just one winter' to include 2 big storms, freezing weather and the biggest storm to hit Ireland in recorded history ... Hope you have weathered it unscathed!
Don’t know if this is before or after the storm, but you have to respect your resilience and nothing is going to stop us attitude.Definitely the best renovation show going considering how far you have/have not got on.Don’t forget only one year.Keep it up guy’s.
Not me sitting through adverts I don't want to watch just so you get the ad money 🤣 Your home makes such a difference to your mental health, hopefully the cupboards are a game changer and you survived the storm with little to no damage.

The white looks fantastic Cori 🎉 a nice spruce up and lightning up your space 😀 I agree on your living environment is crucial to your well being ❤ I love your guy's tenacity .. you came from the home of your dreams and sacrificed everything for a hard yards long-term dream ✨️ I can always see and feel the love you all emanate. I have binged all of your episodes this week. Can’t get enough. I’ve been considering this way of life for myself for some time, and you guys make me feel like it’s plausible. You show the good, the bad and the ugly and it’s very inspiring. Keep it up.
Well done folks, you're working with what you have and you do everything to have more and better opportunities to keep going! I hope the caravan survived storm Éowyn - at least I think that's the one you were talking about - because I am in Midlothian in Scotland and it hit pretty hard here! Keep smiling, I'm certainly smiling with you, and thoroughly enjoying your progress and how you grow together in the working together on the land, the ponies and growing your own food besides working on the cottage and its surrounds!

You are doing the right thing for your mental health 👏 painting your caravan inside will brighten your mood. People often underestimate how crucially important our surroundings are. There is only so long we can postpone our needs on an emotional level. I recognise that you have been surrounded by natural beauty... but, now in the depths of winter when home comforts are scarce, you simply must nourish your souls. Kayvan; **wags finger** Consider yourself told off! 🧏♀️😂 When we live in the moment, under considerable pressure on many fronts, it isn't a waste of money or time to invest in your spirit and create the best sanctuary ✨️ possible to strengthen your resolve to push on.😊 well done Cori, for taking care of the important stuff and keeping the home fires burning. Creating a homely environment feeds the soul.
@craighenry1234 maybe you didn't see last weeks vlog. They've been facing setback after setback recently. When this happens morale can plummet and cause energy slumping and illness. Let's boost this brave family with praise and positivity!! 👏
Yes painting the caravan might be putting lipstick on a pig BUT Cori is with that pig day in and day out and a fresh coat of paint always lifts one’s spirits 🥰 Especially since you won’t be in the cottage shortly. Also I want to commend you on your fabulous garden! As first time gardeners to build one so big and in such a difficult location you’ve done a brilliant job! Talk about hard work and dedication! Bravo! I look forward to your vlogs each week…you two always make me smile! Hugs and cheers from Illinois in the USA
I admire the dedication to paint the tricky interior of the caravan. It should provide a boost to morale, much needed with the winter caravan life on a muddy homestead. Good to see the very familiar landscape, even when the top of the hill is in the clouds! I guess you are preparing for Storm Herminia. It looks to be from the south, hope the hill behind gives you some protection.
Always excited to watch your channel. Thanks for braiding the ponies main. As far as painting goes if it makes u better then it’s good thin and it is worth it. Also wanted u know I love your pictures of the Flora and Fana that makes me feel like I’ve seen a little bit of Ireland and that is my heart’s wish. Ty Ann
When they announced the red flag warning I immediately thought of you. I hope you survived the awful winds and storms without everything pulling a Dorothy. Painting is the #1 easiest way to change your mood. You go for it! If you feel better looking at a new color, it's already achieved the goal. Remind Kayvan that even a pig has the right to feel cheerful! 😝 The plan for the solar array sounds pretty sensible. A vegetable pot pie (add meat of choice if desired) sounds like a good hearty meal for winter. If you're a good hand at pastry it should be yummy! To wrangle those plastic tubes, may I suggest buying a large roll of velcro? A judiciously placed piece of velcro keeps everything manageable. I use it for cables all over my house. I imagine it would work just as well on pipes and other things that need to be twisted into submission. Good luck with all those niggling problems that cause heartburn! I will keep my fingers crossed for you and send prayers out into the universe.
Painting always makes things look clean and new! We had a few days of very cold nights, for Tucson, that is…. 26f Had to cover many plants! My chickens, after weeks and weeks of not laying, I actually had a nice green egg two days in a row! I only have 5 hens. But so happy it appears the “egg strike” is beginning to end!
I've been thinking about you there after seeing all the weather reports on Storm Eowyn. I hope you fared well inside the caravan and around the property with those crazy windspeeds. ❤ Someday "less than ideal" and "Just one Winter" will all be distant memories
I know you have no time, however I think your daughter would enjoy the challenge of teaching the ponies to drive. I suspect the ponies would enjoy it as well.
Not to be argumentative, but I think you are correct about one, not both. Given how curious and mischievous they are, giving the ponies something to occupy their minds might be a good thing. Plus I'm sure the daughter would enjoy it.
In time, we hope that the 4 year old mare Cia can be trained, she is very docile, has no problem bearing weight, enjoys physical contact, and seems to respond well to command. Poor Gavin has seen too much physical abuse in his life, he is a nervous wreck, even now we have bonded and he fully trusts us.
I absolutely agree that painting the inside of the caravan, that you live in 24/7, is the right thing to do. It will make you feel better and you will feel more positive!
You are doing a great job painting and I'm sure the work at the house will be worth the wait. Great to see that you are loving your new home despite the weather. No one is escaping it. Roll on spring 🌱🌼
Hi folks. I hope you're all OK after Eowyn hit on Friday. Your endurance is incredible. Given the weather around here a lot of people would've thrown in the towel with all you have had to face lately. Best of luck continuing your journey.

Hi guys, looking at your video as you were explaining about the top of the Sycamore trees casting a shadow in the field and building a barn you could top the sycamore trees and just keep them as large bushes and then they wouldn’t cast the shadow in that part of the field anymore at the lowest point of the year
Hey, its definitely a good option and may need to do that regardless at some point in the future to halt the skyward ascent of the trees.. We have been churning over the idea of what to do with that long dry stone walled path at the edge of the field there leading up to the one dilapidated barn. It's kind of in the way and stopping the path leading to the barn being wide enough to accept another building, as it would be sandwiched between the wall and the base of the rock of Hilary. But we also don't want to remove the wall as it is part of the history and heritage of the land. So exploring the possibility of building a barn along the long path there at the base of the craggy rock, means we accomplish 3 things. 1. We need a bunch of rock to make a roadway up to the 2 top fields, but are hesitant to alter the landscape too much. By breaking some rock there in the narrow path, we get some much needed rock for roadway construction. 2. The excavation needed to create an area wide enough to build a narrow long barn is done. 3. The excavation is then hidden behind the barn out of sight. So it is looking like a strong favourite for a future plan of action. What do you think ?
@ I think that sounds your best plan to get the rock you need so that the barn will hide the excavation. All sounds a good idea.,👍 I’m a member of the woodland trust I love trees but I don’t like them getting too big near property rather than spoiled. The view are shed sun and light from windows so I think topping the trees is also a good idea.
You're both so charming and handsome. PS. I love the bird song in the background and your shot of that soloist at the top of that big tree. Keep it coming!
We have never been bird spotters or twitchers before coming here - but its hard not to become enchanted at their magic - such a vibrant and diverse population here. We are pleased you enjoyed it as much as we do.
Can u put bales of hay around your water tanks and surround the caravan with bales to help keep from freezing water lines and drafts. It really makes a difference.
I love hearing your laughter and seeing your smiles. What you are doing is amazing and very time consuming. 2025 will be a wonderful year for you after seeing how much you’ve done in 2024. Painting the RV is uplifting and bright! You are an inspiration to anyone thinking about doing a homestead. ❤️
I watch Also..Campervibe..another wonderful couple restoring a 200 yr old stone cottage...they had a lot of damage ...I hope you have made out alright...hugs from 🇨🇦
The birds, wind with the views are so pleasant in the beginning of your video. I want to thank you for sharing that with us. So lovely it’s appreciated. I hope the storm isn’t too difficult for you and your caravan. I hope the painted cabinets uplift you and put in the right frame of mind. 😁 I do not know if you have issues with your water from your chickens freezing if you do, you can mix some molasses with it and it will not freeze solid. It might be slushy though. Don’t use too much molasses because it also can be a laxative for your chickens. Thank you for sharing.❤
You could build an entry way there are kits heavy vinyl with screen when you roll up so helps when it’s raining. We used to store things in big plastic containers and it worked well not bringing wet stuff in
I use a creamy white for walls. It is cheerful and then I use art to brighten and stimulate cheer even more. I agree with your painting over dull walls. I also love ponies and had several. I miss them terribly now. When I was installing solar, the company installed them closer to my house than I wanted because they said much power would be lost on its way from array to house.
Good Job!!! I painted all the wood in my caravan and used wallpaper on the walls . Looked so much more grand. Took a lot of pations but made it !!! ❤ from Norway !!
I'm in Florida - we're having our cold spell, it' been down in the 30's at night and only in the 50's in the day. YES - that's very cold for us when we're used to 70-90 degree weather. January is my hibernation month, it's too cold to do much of anything except try to stay warm. There is no way I would have taken on a painting project in the cold, you're very brave!
Cori those cupboards and wall surfaces are shiney, so you need a water based primer/undercoat to allow the water based top coat to adhere to it. I say water based because this is not the best time of the year to have all the windows open to clear the paint vapour from spirit based paint.

@offgridirishhomestead Maybe, once he will see Cia, how much fun physical contact can be, maybe one day the poor abused creature will enjoy it too.
Glad you are safe and sound.
I have been thinking about you when I saw the weather coming your way..Please stay safe and as cozy as possible.
Thank you!
I absolutely agree that painting the inside of the caravan, that you live in 24/7, is the right thing to do. It will make you feel better and you will feel more positive!
Thank God you're OK. I've thought about you since Thursday in that caravan during the storm.
We appreciate your thoughts - we got away unscathed x
Stuff Sods Law, Murphys Law is the one you gotta watch out for🤪🤣 ❤️
🤣
You two are the cutest!
We are also living in a camper
You are doing a great job painting and I'm sure the work at the house will be worth the wait. Great to see that you are loving your new home despite the weather. No one is escaping it. Roll on spring 🌱🌼
Roll on spring!
Keep going! Lulls and storms but you'll keep moving forward! #justonewinter! 😊
Hi folks. I hope you're all OK after Eowyn hit on Friday. Your endurance is incredible. Given the weather around here a lot of people would've thrown in the towel with all you have had to face lately. Best of luck continuing your journey.
Thanks a mil

What you’re doing isn’t for sissies! Your successes are awesome, the temporary failures are unpredictable because we hope for best-case scenarios. Mother nature reminds us that the opposite is true. Keep up the positive attitude…..Spring is coming!
I completely understand why you are working on the caravan. It’s about feeling like you are making progress on things you can control.
Hola Cori & family , hope your all ok & safe after the storm, we all worried about you. Painting the caravan will certainly help brighten the next few months. Hugs ♥️
Unbelievably, we escaped unharmed and damage free! We appreciate the thought

You guys are doing amazing!! Most people never go after their dreams!!!! So you have and doing very awesome job at that🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
I love the paint colour! You videos are one of the very best I watch each week.
Awww well done with the painting hooe you were ok with the storm tc now blessing’s too all from the oldies
We survived unscathed - it's a miracle!
Beautiful days and fun times
I watch Also..Campervibe..another wonderful couple restoring a 200 yr old stone cottage...they had a lot of damage ...I hope you have made out alright...hugs from 🇨🇦
Just watched their video - shocking and scary. Unbelievably, we escaped unharmed and damage free! We appreciate the thought
Love you guys! Stay safe
Brilliant project ❤
You are a really cute family. Good wishes for your success. Love watching you all.
Thanks for following along
I am inspired by your resilience and good humour. You will get there! ❤
The birds, wind with the views are so pleasant in the beginning of your video. I want to thank you for sharing that with us. So lovely it’s appreciated.
I hope the storm isn’t too difficult for you and your caravan. I hope the painted cabinets uplift you and put in the right frame of mind. 😁
I do not know if you have issues with your water from your chickens freezing if you do, you can mix some molasses with it and it will not freeze solid. It might be slushy though. Don’t use too much molasses because it also can be a laxative for your chickens. Thank you for sharing.❤
Hang in there. You are doing what I wish I could do, here in Canada. I enjoy your videos with a nice cup of tea and notetaking ha ha.
Follow your dreams - thanks for being along for the ride!
You could build an entry way there are kits heavy vinyl with screen when you roll up so helps when it’s raining. We used to store things in big plastic containers and it worked well not bringing wet stuff in
We have been storing a bunch of stuff in big plastic containers and has been working well - thanks!
I was thinking of you when Storm Éowyn came through.
We appreciate you thoughts - we escape unscathed!
Cori if u keep cooking those sweets Kayvan will be waddling up hill and rolling down dill.. 😂 Love the laughter in the spirit of ur channel ❤
Storm eowyn was really very rough storm enjoying watching 👏🤭
The roughest we have ever experienced, we got away very lightly though, no damage, completely unharmed !
solar placement plan sounds great and if on barn roof no worry of leaky roof
✔️
Great job! Your meal looked like an 11 to me, too.❤
Good Job!!! I painted all the wood in my caravan and used wallpaper on the walls . Looked so much more grand. Took a lot of pations but made it !!! ❤ from Norway !!
Norway woot!
Oooo I'd love your recipe for the pickled radish, your food always looks sooooo good 😊
Cori those cupboards and wall surfaces are shiney, so you need a water based primer/undercoat to allow the water based top coat to adhere to it. I say
water based because this is not the best time of the year to have all the windows open to clear the paint vapour from spirit based paint.
