Seriously underrated band. Especially 'Holy War' (studio version) is one helluva song and it ought to be featured in any overview of 20th-century rock music.
Kannte die Band bis jetzt nicht. Evt mal was gelesen. Weis jetzt aber nicht wo. Vielleicht kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen, danke Danke für's hochladen😊 Aber ich mags🤗
I saw them in Barcelona in small club, it must have been ´83 or ´84. Stiv started doing some acrobatics while singing Like a Virgin, with the microphone cable over a metal beam and him signing upside down onstage... Crazy hilarious.... eventually the cable broke or the beam broke or whatever and he clashed onstage... unfazed he continued singing... The Lords, alright..
Of course when i see Brian James, the Damned are running through my mind; nothing to say about the skills of Captain Sensible as guitarist, but i prefer Brian James. ( what about Lu Edmunds? 🎸)
I was at the concert of the Damned 4 days ago in Zürich and it was very bad. The Singer had no voice and when you heard him he did not hit the tunes. But the Bassist Paul Gray and the others saved it.
Sorry but it was just the bassist . They were the first Superband : singer from the Dead Boys, guitarist from the Damned and drummer from the Barracudas (less known) . The rest is history.
@@christianhusken1917 It WAS the ashes of Sham! Here's-what-happened: After Jimmy Pursey left Stiv Bators was brought in as Sham 69's new vocalist. (The UK music press quickly called it Sham Boys!) Yet, for legal reasons, they found the couldn't use that moniker anymore. (Pursey owned the rights!) The "Sham Boys" renamed themselves The Wanderers and released what is Sham's unofficial 5th album "Only Lovers Left Alive" (1981). It was not a success. When the Wanderers collapsed Stiv and bassist Dave Tregunna joined forces with ex-Damned Brian James and formed the Lords...
@@l.salisbury1253It got so messy and complcated with Sham and personnel changes. There are now 2 versions of Sham 69 going around. Pursey, Parsons & Tregunna are the credible one. The one fronted by that Tim V guy should call themselves Scam69! Basically a covers band mascarading as Sham and stealing a living off the name.
I saw this band twice. Once at Perkins Palace in 1982 with the band Felony-("The Fanatic")- as the opener, and then again in 1983 at The Palace in Hollywood. Memories of a better time. The soundtrack of my youth.
Seen Stiv Lord's Of The New Church In Toronto good 2Shows Brian James good guitarist

WOW GORILLAS RIPPED OFF THE ENTIRE "JOHNNY TOO BAD" RIFF "WITH FEEL GOOD INC."
After seeing them 3 times in Montreal between 1983 /86, Thank you for this 4th concert
