Make sure you take that IMPELLOR SCREW off the right way.

Thank you for the video it was very helpful. I haven't messed with my pump yet but I have a slight leak which I'm sure the new gaskets will fix but I also have a slight different noise coming from the pump. The pump is only 3 years old and only used 5 months out of the year. The pump is fully functioning but it has different noise to it. like a whiny sound. Do you think it could be the bearings in the motor? or something with the pump?

Guarantee I would have broken off the impeller screw had I not watched this! Thanks so much

Awesome video. Question. My Jandy is .75, but it looks exactly as yours except mine didn't have a gasket st the base of the shaft. My kit came with a repalcement, though. Im confused. Should i install it?

Big thanks for pointing out that one screw comes out *clockwise*. I thought i couldn't get enough leverage, but no. The screw itself is backwards! Though i could not get the faceplate off, instead i had to remove the motor itself, but overall i could not have done this without you. Thanks!

What size bolts hold the seal plate to the pump body?

Good question. I'm not sure. Never had to replace them. Ever.

Do you know the size of the flat rubber washer that is next to the motor bearing? Mine is gone. Looks maybe 1.25”od x .50”id? Where might I source it from?
    Thank you

After taking out impeller screw does the impeller pull off or screw off?

Good video, my only concern is why didn't you clean up everything before you put it all back together. Risk getting trash on the ceramic and seal causing a leak.

The question is, Did you learn how to replace the seal?

But how do I take off the backplate of the motor to remove the impeller?

    • @VIPPoolsandSpas
      @VIPPoolsandSpas  3 роки тому +1

If it's the same pump, the shaft sticks out a bit. Hold that and spin off impeller. Might also have a "plug"

@@VIPPoolsandSpas I’m at the part where I take off the impeller screw. I need to take the motor shaft cover off of the back but the screws are stuck.
If I’m replacing the pump body because of a crack, should I bother replacing the carbon and ceramic seal or don’t bother?

For those new to DIY, could you show us what tools or products you are using when you say " clean it up" at various stages. As well, can you tell us what products you are using to grease the seals. Thanks.

Great idea for a pre video. Some of the things I do use are in the video description.

jandy is not the 9nly one that does that. Pentair whisperflo is the same
