I actually bought the socks to make this owl plushie in 2015! There were lots of requests for a penguin plushie as well so I decided to combine both together and came up with this DIY. This is easy relatively-speaking since all sock plushies take a bit of practise to make. If this is your first time sewing sock plush, then you can simply create a non-reversible owl or penguin. That's super easy to make and you can watch my other videos on how to seal the base. If you have a bit more experience with plushies then feel free to get creative. You can even add small ears to create different animals :3! The plushie will drop some bits of fluff at the beginning because there are lots of "raw" fabric edges. However after you play with it for a while these will go away.

I have so many fluffy socks that have had a hole in it or the other part went missing. I also love plushies for their calming effect when I'm anxious. I want to thank you for the wonderful potential use of my missing and damaged socks. I can't wait to try one of these tutorials.

That tip on keeping the stitches close together was cool because in my experience, fluffy socks can come apart really easily.

I don’t know if I’ve commented this before, but last year I saw this video and the other sock plushy ones and thought it was really cool. I had to do a couple big projects to get an award called the Canada Cord in Girl Guides, so I decided I wanted to teach my group how to make these. I really enjoyed making them, so for another project I made about 20 of these and gave them to a family resource centre in my community. I guess all I wanted to say is thank you. Both for inspiring me to do this to win the award and to help out families in my community. ❤

It is so cute and easy to make. I specially loved the technique of using the bottle for shaping the plushie. It's just so perfect and easy to do. Until now, the videos I watched always involved some steps for shaping up after the sewing is complete, but your technique is easy to follow and time saving. Great plushie😍😍😍😍

I made this. I love it so much and it was so easy. It doesn't look as good as yours but I still had a lot of fun making it. My penguin sock had white toes so I glued a pompom on top so now he had a cute lil winter hat.

Becky xie Yeah it's really easy, just cut 2 circles and I believe it's called a "running stitch" just sew it through the bottom (like a drawstring) as you stuff the circle to make a little ball, then just connect it to the head! 😊👍
