I’m so happy to have watched Colter growing up in the less than two years since I started following his music. He’s on his ranch land in SW Saskatchewan. Bad bad drought, heat and now grasshoppers. I heard you didn’t have electricity for your single axel bumper hitch headquarters. You and the film company did a wonderful job of Evangelina. Take care.

Hoyt Axton had one of the greatest voices I ever heard. This version is okay but can’t touch the original.
L take. Hoyts is good not great. This is the first time I’ve ever thought a cover was better than the original. Hoyts is wayyy too fast. It’s a slow, sad love song… why play it like a mariachi band? I would choose Colters version over his 11 out of 10 times. Axtons voice is great but I don’t think it necessarily fits that mellow story, pushing it even further is the tempo
