  • Donald Trump has announced trade tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China.
Companies from Canada and Mexico will have to pay 25% more to sell their goods in the US, while Chinese firms face a tariff of 10%.
The idea is to make American consumers buy American products, and to raise more tax revenue.
But experts warn adding more to the cost of selling goods could push US inflation up - Trump promised to bring inflation down during his election campaign - and could also spark a tariff war with other countries.

Tariffs are a tax on American businesses that import goods from foreign nations, collected by the U.S. government, with the revenue going to the U.S. Treasury. The cost of tariffs are passed on to the American consumer in the form of inflation. During Donald Trump's first presidency, the value of the U.S. dollar declined 11%. Moody's downgraded the U.S. credit outlook from stable to negative.

Joining the BRICS will compensate the economic losses that happened in the economy of Mexico and Canada as a result of the Trump's move which reflects his shallow understanding of the "political economics" parameters. Joining the BRICS will compensate the economic losses that happened in the economy of Mexico and Canada by the equal but more consumers markets in Russia, China, Brazil, India, Egypt, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Indonesia.
