These guys are right, the live version is like your crush coming to see you, but at 3:30 a.m. unannounced and drunk. The P could of D'ed if they had their stuff together tight. The studio version is tight. As soon as the song started, I thought, I am going to listen to the "good" one right after this and I'm off to do just that.
You may find that the drummer Stewart Copeland belongs in the PDC club. He is one of the best drummers in rock, and is always so much fun to watch. He is notorious for his tempo changes and changing the overall feel of the song as he plays. You may want to go back to their first single, Roxanne.
NO WOMAN should go through life without having this absolutely beautiful Classic played for her,, So i dedicate this one TO YOU Britt,, Malo "Suavecito" (Studio Version) ❤
The studio version is much better, great song by The Police. If I’m not mistaken, there is a demo version that is much slower when Sting was in another band called Strontium 90.
This is not a really good live version, and the song itself doesn't really work live. The studio version is much better. The song was recorded and mixed in the Caribbean on the island of Montserat, which is why it has that tropical feel. I believe there are steel drums on the studio track.
It's ashame you didn't do the official video of this, so much better and quite the story behind it and so much clearer and would've given you idea of how truly good it is, plus the sound quality isnt great on this live version
Roxannne is very sexy. They have so many songs about odd relationships - dating a hooker, student teacher, stalker, tongue-tied school boy. It's like they were recounting their own experiences.
The guitar player, Andy Summers, had been playing professionally for about 20 years when this was filmed. He was 39. He was in the mid-to- late 1968 version of Eric Burdon & The Animals.
We're validating the value of PDC membership! A lot of The Police's stuff has that Island sound. You need less wholesome? "Don't Stand So Close To Me" is PERFECT! lol And Sting shows off his arms in the video. Roxanne is probably their zeggsiest song, lots of yearning and earnest-ness.
The lead singer is Sting, an absolute legend and musical genius. You don't need a song to push The Police into your group. You need to thank the Lord they made the music they did. All three members are legend. Stewart Copeland is one of the top rock drummers of all time!
"Do i have to tell the story of a thousand rainy days since we first met?....its a big enuf umbrella, but its always me that ends up getting wet"....its chivalry, m' dear, the lyric is about chivalry.
The part about him "I resolved to call her up a 1000 times a day" he basically is saying that 1000 times he wanted to call her but lost his nerve before calling
If it matters to you, while I greatly enjoy you as a reactor live reactions are too hit or Miss. I skip a lot of your reactions only because they are live. Plus, if you do the studio and love it, you can still do the live one after. Just a suggestion. Would watch you more if they weren’t live. And to be clear. I’m a Grateful Dead fan. I LOOOOOOVE live music. But I’m a strong believer in starting with studio, with very few exceptions. Otherwise, greatly enjoy your reactions ☺️
Strange you should say "tropical" as the song was recorded in Jamaica and the video to the song was shot there. The band were staying at "Goldeneye" the house in Jamaica which previously belonged to Ian Fleming the creator of James Bond!
I love the group The Police, but the kids today object to those lyrics we loved back in the 80's, so not sure what to recommend that you wouldn't raise an eyebrow to, but Sting by himself - he has a lot of PDC worthy songs. I think if you check out his song It's Probably Me you'd agree he's totally club eligible. Other great songs of his are Desert Rose, Seven Days, and of course If I Ever Lose My Faith in You. There's others, but these will get you started chucking your P's at the stage. ;) lol
Oh Britt, you would love Stings solo works for PDC credentials. He has some amazing works. That said I have been a die hard Police fan for many decades. Tried to model a drumming style like Cpoeland; that lasted a month till I realized it was impossible. You should check out and save for 2025, he does a fantastic version of Funny Valentine with renoun trumpeter Chris Botti. The Police are a ton of fun live, but your very wise audience have often commented here below that their studio work is air tight!
Oh, I think Sting is pretty universally considered a PD. So many other great songs. In fact he's known for practicing tantric sex This one is a bop. They can and do many genres and styles. Super talented.
Britt reacts! I'm a big fan and have enjoyed your videos for a while now keep up the good work! With that being said, this is a good song about love but the Police's true PDC song is, "The bed's too big without you" out of the Regatta de Blanc. I can assure you the panties will slither doen on their own 😂
This was The Police with their legendary frontman "Sting" (bass guitar & leadvocals) ! :) Sting is known for his "special" melodies with a lot of changes in it. He likes to experiment in many of his songs. :) I would recommed you to watch "king of pain" in duet with Lady Gaga on Stings birthday party a few years ago. They share a really good friendship. The energy in this live performace is so great... two generation's greats with huge respect and love for each other sharing the stage: ua-cam.com/video/Y6EbB8Stse8/v-deo.html Another very emotional performance is by Lady Gaga honoring Sting at the "Kennedy Center Honors 2014". She performed "If I ever loose my faith in you" by Sting in front of him in the crowd. He get's very emotional and I like her version of the song almost better then the original one. :) ua-cam.com/video/XEedn0GXp30/v-deo.html
Hey Britt, there is a song you should take a look at by Jeff Healey called Macon Georgia Blue, great song, he passed a few yrs ago but was a great talent
Its a VERY difficult song to reproduce live....on the album version there were keyboards, & synths...not here...its a brillaint rendition & andy summers guitar arppeggios here are sick, crazy difficulty level, goat level finger spaghetti type sh*t
The police are straight up goats, three geniuses, three individuals who were a bit older than normal when they made it, so they clashed & had a lot of tension between three grown men whi h made some explosive art....Anywho, is there anyway to pay on patreon to bypass the PDC criteria/judgement situation?....some of us could blow ur mind with some paid suggestions if u like this kind of thing.
You have an uncanny ability to always choose the worst live version of any song. I get it you don't do studio versions, but do you look at least at view counts when choosing which live video to use? The audio on this is abysmal and it's night and day between this and the studio version. I suggest your PDC club take into account your going to do a live and choose the link for you. Just a suggestion though, after many disappointed views across any artists and genres. Just looked, theres a live version of this song with 271k views, live from Rio, with significantly better audio. It wasnt the first to come up like the one you picked but its10x better
you always need to do the studio version first!it shows how they wanted the song to sound. then do the live to see how it transfers if you like the changes they make. i was looking forward to seeing the offical video.i like the locals, the steel drums and location in the vid. it was filmed on montserat where threr is/was a recording studio that bands used to go to record albums. if you think they are pdc cause he made a noise and used the word wet your streching, making something from nothing.he was singing about an umbrella and rain.this is a love song not a now a days debuched sexy song.there's a difference between love and just sex. dissapointed to not get the video!
So. THE POLICE were/are a very peculiar act for the fact that they managed to smuggle very complex music into the 2 chord sparse, primitive, political and manic Punk genre -- and as a trio! Aside from the obvious: lyrics that reach the level of poetry in some cases and demand to be listened to, exciting music , and a sex symbol for a lead singer/songwriter, Sting. A takeaway is to notice how each instrument fits into its own designated place. No instrument steps on any other. As far as Sting's voice, my guess is that early on Sting sang too high too much for his baritone voice and "blew out" his voice. So nowadays, he can still sing out and belt excellently. But he can no longer sing softly.
NOT a good version here. Studio is a lot better. - I heard Andy Gibb do this once and he nailed it. You might like the studio version of this one by Police better.
The police are one of the worst live bands… studio versions are always better… They’re too repetitive in all their music… good but not my favorite by far… PDC 🤔? Not my panties 😱😂😂😂
Studio version is much clearer and better. Great song. It might be my favorite Police tune. I'll bet Sting has never had a problem getting Ps to D.
These live performances are not really good choices for first reactions. You lose much of what makes this song great.
Agree that the studio version is much better; less campy….
These guys are right, the live version is like your crush coming to see you, but at 3:30 a.m. unannounced and drunk. The P could of D'ed if they had their stuff together tight. The studio version is tight. As soon as the song started, I thought, I am going to listen to the "good" one right after this and I'm off to do just that.
yeah..i never understand listening to live for first reaction.
I couldn't watch more than 30 seconds. What are you talking about with Ps to D. Is this about Sting getting women?
Studio version with official video is shot in the Caribbean and it’s GORGEOUS. With beautiful local citizenry.
Not sure why you choose the live versions of these classics, Britt, but again recommend the official video with the original recording.
Roxanne, King of Pain, and Every Breath You Take are all Police essentials.
You may find that the drummer Stewart Copeland belongs in the PDC club. He is one of the best drummers in rock, and is always so much fun to watch. He is notorious for his tempo changes and changing the overall feel of the song as he plays.
You may want to go back to their first single, Roxanne.
Copeland is the best drummer ever.
NO WOMAN should go through life without having this absolutely beautiful Classic played for her,, So i dedicate this one TO YOU Britt,, Malo "Suavecito" (Studio Version) ❤
This version is horrendous…
👍👍💯💯😒😒
The studio version is much better, great song by The Police. If I’m not mistaken, there is a demo version that is much slower when Sting was in another band called Strontium 90.
No they dont belong in the PDC either lol
This is not a really good live version, and the song itself doesn't really work live. The studio version is much better. The song was recorded and mixed in the Caribbean on the island of Montserat, which is why it has that tropical feel. I believe there are steel drums on the studio track.
Yep! ...and... Every record they released went diamond... 😊
It's ashame you didn't do the official video of this, so much better and quite the story behind it and so much clearer and would've given you idea of how truly good it is, plus the sound quality isnt great on this live version
Next time!
How come not that many studio versions of songs on your channel?
She thinks they’ll get demonetized plus she prefers live in all cases is what I’ve gathered whenever she’s addressed the question
Couldn't watch more than 30 seconds of it when knowing there's a clearer better sounding studio version of it
Yeah i agree. How many times do we have to tell her. Problem is one of her Patreon members made a donation to get the version they picked to be used.
The Police belong in your PDC! Keep in mind there are only 3 members in the band.
You might find that either Roxanne by the Police or I Can’t Stand Losing You might suit the PDC better.
Great song! But seems to me that you choose the worst version...love your reactions! ❤
That one is definitely less wholesome. Lol. Not sure she'll be okay with the lyrics; these young ones today don't handle it as well.
The studio is so much better.
The Police; Sting, Andy and Stewart!! BEST BAND EVER!!! (Yes the studio version is way better then the live version)
Invisible Sun is another great song by the Police.
Live version of The Police Driven to tears!
It is an awesome song.
The lead singer is Sting, an absolute legend and musical genius. You don't need a song to push The Police into your group. You need to thank the Lord they made the music they did. All three members are legend. Stewart Copeland is one of the top rock drummers of all time!
Agreed!
One of his earlier songs, from when he was a high-school teacher, he was fearful of a young girl, who wouldn't leave him alone.
why do other reaction reviewers review the same songs as you but have access to the best recordings of the song?
Listen to Roxanne
King of Pain is the next one to try
De do do do de da da da that's all I have to say to you!
OMG yes! That is The Police song she'll induct them for; thank you!
Sting "FORTRESS AROUND YOUR HEART" (original video) 🔥🔥🔥
I’ll check it out!
"Do i have to tell the story of a thousand rainy days since we first met?....its a big enuf umbrella, but its always me that ends up getting wet"....its chivalry, m' dear, the lyric is about chivalry.
She only hears 1% because she is too busy talking, singing and mugging to the camera!
@@rsw1227 , ha...shes gorgeous, but yeah, agreed, LOL.
Stewart Copeland is the greatest drummer of all time. Incredibly skilled. 🙌
Remember that all that incredible musical talent has only 3 musicians
It's Sting. He's the PDC inductee. 😁🔥
The part about him "I resolved to call her up a 1000 times a day" he basically is saying that 1000 times he wanted to call her but lost his nerve before calling
The feel you get is called Reggae
Sounds horrible
Bummed this isn't the original video. This is my favorite band ever. Still.
When you're ready to consider inducting their lead singer (Sting) into the PDC, go listen to "Fields of Gold" and "Desert Rose."
Listen to Sting Desert Rose. Sting has a huge solo career
Try listening to "Syncronicity II" by The Police.
This is an amazing song the POLICE!! The amazing STING!!!
You would really like Roxanne.
One of the drummers of the history
Watch The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger (Official Music Video)
❤❤❤❤❤
PDC Fields Of Gold ❤😂
The Police were heavily influenced by Reggae, which comes out in a lot of their songs
in defense of the band...this is 1981/82 in a field in North England....amazing job.
If you want some PDC, try Just like Paradise, or Yankee Rose by David Lee Roth.
Looks like you've been Stung.
If it matters to you, while I greatly enjoy you as a reactor live reactions are too hit or Miss. I skip a lot of your reactions only because they are live. Strange you should say "tropical" as the song was recorded in Jamaica and the video to the song was shot there. The band were staying at "Goldeneye" the house in Jamaica which previously belonged to Ian Fleming the creator of James Bond!
STING - "Shape of My Heart"
That is my personal favorite of his. I will put it on repeat and less to it for hours. ❤
I love the group The Police, but the kids today object to those lyrics we loved back in the 80's, so not sure what to recommend that you wouldn't raise an eyebrow to, but Sting by himself - he has a lot of PDC worthy songs. There's others, but these will get you started chucking your P's at the stage. ;) lol
Just think how much more they could have done today with a headset instead of a stage microphone
Roxanne is your PDC song. Risqué is the word.
PDC Fields Of Gold by Sting😊
Exactly the one I was going to suggest! That was my Mom's favorite...she would positively swoon when it came on. PDC-worthy for sure!
I do love that one too. Sting has so many great songs. :)
Oh Britt, you would love Stings solo works for PDC credentials. He has some amazing works. That said I have been a die hard Police fan for many decades. Tried to model a drumming style like Cpoeland; that lasted a month till I realized it was impossible.

The Police are a ton of fun live, but your very wise audience have often commented here below that their studio work is air tight!
Lead lead singers name is Sting.
Please remember this name. It will come up a lot in Rock music discussion.
Goes on and on and on no matter what ❤️🔥
Oh, I think Sting is pretty universally considered a PD. So many other great songs. In fact he's known for practicing tantric sex This one is a bop. They can and do many genres and styles. Super talented.
I like The Police, and I've seen them in concert twice. This performance just isn't there for me. It's kind of a shame, really.
Britt reacts! I'm a big fan and have enjoyed your videos for a while now keep up the good work! With that being said, this is a good song about love but the Police's true PDC song is, "The bed's too big without you" out of the Regatta de Blanc. I can assure you the panties will slither doen on their own 😂
The Police are a mix of Punk & Reggae and Sting, Andy, and Stewart are another incredible 3 guy bands.
Couldn't agree more!
Ok, try “ I can’t stand losing you” or “ Walking on the moon”.
This was The Police with their legendary frontman "Sting" (bass guitar & leadvocals) ! :)
Sting is known for his "special" melodies with a lot of changes in it. He likes to experiment in many of his songs. :)

The lead singer is Sting, he's absolutely AMAZING
Still putting out great hits and his concerts are fs magically.
PickEmTruckGearl 1970's
Lead singer is Sting.
murder by numbers my favorite.
I’ve always Loved this song!
ooo, that was the first single i purchased as a kid
Listen to the studio release only on this song
Hey Britt, there is a song you should take a look at by Jeff Healey called Macon Georgia Blue, great song, he passed a few yrs ago but was a great talent
The Police started writing reggae-ish tunes to give them an opportunity to slow down and catch their breath in live concerts…
Da Doo Doo Da will get them into your PDC. Just kidding, but it does get them in there for truth drops.
These songs were overplayed on the radio
this is not the stalking song. that is I’ll Be Watching You by the police
its called "Every Breath You Take"
The Police Britt my old laptop doesnt have a thumbs up but thats my sentiment you gotta do Roxy music now
I humbly submit Mercy Mode- Lost In You to the PDC
Did you notice how solid the bass was, and who was playing it?
I have a PDC pick for you. Dwight Yoakam and the song Fast as You
I’ll check him out!
You gotta start reacting to the official videos to these songs; less background noise and overall better quality.
Its a VERY difficult song to reproduce live....on the album version there were keyboards, & synths...not here...its a brillaint rendition & andy summers guitar arppeggios here are sick, crazy difficulty level, goat level finger spaghetti type sh*t
Sting belongs in the pdc but not from this song. Check out Roxanne 🔥 it’s one of their best songs.

What on earth is PDC Britt?
Panty dropping club
Always start with the original video to know what the song is supposed to sound like. THEN branch off into live versions after that.
Now read about Sting's tantric practices. 😉
Not sure why you choose the live versions
check out his 'fields of gold'
You pick great songs, but you pick the most random videos ever.
you always need to do the studio version first!it shows how they wanted the song to sound.
then do the live to see how it transfers if you like the changes they make.
i was looking forward to seeing the offical video.i like the locals, the steel drums and location in the vid.
it was filmed on montserat where threr is/was a recording studio that bands used to go to record albums.
if you think they are pdc cause he made a noise and used the word wet your streching, making something from nothing.he was singing about an umbrella and rain.this is a love song not a now a days debuched sexy song.there's a difference between love and just sex.
dissapointed to not get the video!
Amazing how awful he sounds live 😢
Good song but a horrible version. Police are great band but not PDC material
video version is better and a lot more fun..good reaction though
So. THE POLICE were/are a very peculiar act for the fact that they managed to smuggle very complex music into the 2 chord sparse, primitive, political and manic Punk genre -- and as a trio!

You are!
