I have a few Lebanese colleagues. Being a baker and a real foodie they invited me over for dinner one day. 3 colleagues in all I came over and their wives have been buisy in the kitchen all day. They had a very large charcoal pit outside and we just spend the whole day around a table sitting and just slowly eating laughing and having a grand time. When it comes to food and pride in their food culture the Libanese are something special. Not to mention that no matter what your stomach tells you, you just cant stop. Its just that good.
Ma man you had the real Lebanese experience as a Lebanese when everyone is full this is when the party gets started 😂 cheap jokes and laughing, and many slowly getting drunk over Arak 🤣 but everyone still munching over Lebanese appetizers although we’re full haha. Salute from mount Lebanon
@@makingcookingfixing God willing when you're visiting the country will be in better shape as it once was. Right now I don't think you will enjoy just as much after the turmoil is unfolding. Thank you for your kind words!
The 'raw meat' is actually "Kibbie nayeh" (raw Kibbie). It is the national dish of Lebanon. Kibbie contains a variety of spices, puréed onion and bulgur wheat. The recipe can vary somewhat but, those are normally the basics. Kibbie can also be served baked or fried into small foot-ball shapes (you showed some briefly before getting your beets) often stuffed with meat onions and pine nuts.
I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the national dish of Lebanon but yes to the rest. It's more of a starter item and it's pronounced Kibbeh not Kibbie.
Kibbeh neyeh is definitely not the national dish, more so the most netoruious dish in the country among the Arab world, since most wouldn’t even think of eating it.
I literally just ate and I'm drooling like I never have before seeing this video. I'm Dominican and our food was heavily influenced by Turkish, Lebanese and Palestinian immigrants who came 100 years ago. The current president is partially of Lebanese descent.
Lebanon is a very nice country, nice people very friendly and hospitable , thay also have a delicious cuisine one of the underrated countries in the Middle east.
21:25 : This moment was so cool or me, as I'd just cracked open a tin of dolmas, when I saw Sonny was about to me stuffed grape leaves... so I waited for a "co-bite" of a sort. Fun!
I love how you never ever make it out to be a bad place unless it absolutely is (egypt). Thanks for what you do Sunny you've gotten me through some really tough times with your silly jokes and good production quality.
Baklava is not fried. Butter is brushed in between each individual layer of phyllo dough. It is then baked until crispy, and then a sugar syrup is poured over top. There's no frying happening.
Sticking your nose in that cinnamon was priceless as was a few other moments in this! What a unique place with all different foods! Another excellent video! ❤😊
Sonny, google how to eat artichokes. You did the first part almost right but you need to dip it in something. When you get down to the stringy bits you need to cut them off of the heart. My family had an artichoke plant growing just outside our front door. It got a disease one year and my dad cut it down. There is a funny picture of me holding the plant like a friend before he died just before my dad cut it down.
Absolutely love how real William or Sonny is and always cracks me up when they do close ups of him holding the food and he’s always shaking. I don’t have a still hand either buddy and always ready for another drink lol
I just discovered this channel. Damn Im happy. Great commentary, balanced humor and damn... the video editing always catches me off guard. Keep up the good work!!!!
Oh my goodness my mouth water is watching this. I love every bit of their food. I'd have to be careful with the lentils and my stomach. But everything else so my goodness gracious. Mouth watering. Absolutely deliciousness.
that first breakfast was a breakfast to die for. completely vegetarian, perfect balance of protein and carbs and veggies.. I can have that breakfast everyday for the rest of my life. Amazing

His wife must love him so much, with his veiled threats to turn her closet into an oven 😂
As an Arab our lebanese brothers have mastered all food from the region and made it top knotch. They are the best at food and fashion in the region
except the seafood where they are apparently worthless...
Agreed
Thanks a lot for visiting Lebanon because I live in it and I tasted a lot of foods over there
