You touched on some key points. Not bringing back Josh Norman was a mistake, anyone who watched Julio Jones torch the Panthers twice the next season can attest to that. I think this is who the Panthers are. They've shown they can be good enough for a 15-1 record and a Super Bowl appearance but they have yet to win the big game and not revert back to mediocrity.
I like the way you defended Ron Rivera. He was not a bad coach at all. I actually learned something new from this video. That the new owner wanted to be more on analytics while Rivera doesn't like technology and was more defensive minded.
What should the Panthers do? 1. Hire Jason Garrett as coach 2. Trade Cam Newton 3. Draft Jerry Judy There will be a ton of talented picks next year. I would stockpile picks for next year. I don't know what I wouldn't trade this year's first round pick for Cleveland's next year. There's a strong chance to get a elite QB like Tua and a receiver (Ruggs, Smith, Waddle) this year use free agency to address needs on the offensive and defensive lines.
I just want to say that you made an error in stating that the Panthers were the first team to miss the playoffs following a Super Bowl berth. It has happened several times. I don't know if you meant to say something else, but that particular statement is completely false
It still kills me inside that we couldn't win that super bowl. It was a storybook season with an anti-climactic ending. Denver was just another team. Their season was anything but magical. It still sucks.

Cam said that he would never leave the team if it was up to him. He has also had basically a whole season to rest his shoulder until next year. With his new form and a well rested shoulder, he should be throwing really really well. (people were calling for him to take the year off before he had the lisfrank. Now I agree.) And Tepper also aluded to the fact that he wants a hc that will keep Cam. (if I remember correctly.)Also he has a much different attitude now than before. Hopefully in the first few games of next season he shakes off the “I HAVE to proove myself” and actually proved himself.
And with a state that leans more on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils in the realm of sports makes this all the more frustrating. And I'm not even a Panthers fan.
As a casual who doesn't follow or haven't ever watched a full NFL season before (more of a basketball fan) I find Cam Newton to be one if not my favorite quarter back or player in the league. And even though I haven't watch much of his game I mostly like him because of his playing style, charisma, and his personality of being a nice person from the short Nickelodeon series that I use to watch. I will also say that I like that you put the music provider in description even though you didn't show each song name there or in the video.
6:40 The Panthers aren't the first team to miss the playoffs following a Super Bowl birth at all. Even ignoring that the Broncos missed the playoffs the same year, the Chiefs missed the playoffs after the very first SB. So no one is beating that record. In fact it is actually kind of common. The Packers missed the playoffs in 1968 after back to back SB wins. The Steelers have done this in 2006 and 2009 following SB appearances. The Patriots missed it in 08. Heck, not only were they not the first team, they weren't even the first or second teams of that same decade to do it. The Giants in 2012 missed it just a few years earlier than the Panthers and Broncos did. So did the Ravens in 2013. Really I didn't even have to try to find examples and this isn't all of them.
If I’m the Panthers looking for a good coach to replace Rivera I’m looking at either Mike Tomlin or Jim Harbaugh. Though not QB gurus Tomlin or Harbaugh could definitely help Allen refine his decision making and bring some sort of consistency to that defence
2 years later, you could do a video about Ron Rivera again because he had to fight cancer while coaching the Washington Football Team and another video on Cam Newton from Panthers to Patriots and the ups and downs about his 2020 season with New England.
Damn.. it's tough to see Cam not being superman rn. Dude got me into watching football and I was super disappointed when he didn't beat the broncos in SB50, but I know he'll be back and I truly hope he can win a superbowl
Aritro Nandi I don’t understand why cam came to be known as Superman (I know he would do that thing with his hand on his chest) Marshall Faulk was the original “Superman”
I've already given up on this year. All I'm saying is we have a hidden gem in Kyle allen, our receivers are somewhat starting to show, we need to go back to a 4-3 defense, and we need to draft some o-line to give Kyle Allen some time and help Mccaffery.
"Newton has gotten hit a lot"... That's the issue right there, and Rivera is directly to blame. Which type of player has the shortest (or close to it) career? Running backs. Cause they get beat up every play. So what do you expect is going to happen when you have your quarterback double as one? Same thing is going to happen to Lamar Jackson unless something changes. The Seahawks provide the model of the way it should be done. Take a dual threat quarterback, build a good o-line around him to protect him, only have him scramble when he needs to, and have him slide before he gets hit. That's why Russell Wilson has had 136 consecutive starts. Being conservative like that will cost you a few points and maybe even a game or two.... But it won't cost you an entire season.
@@rustyshackleferd875 You may be right, though IMHO it's too early to tell with Jackson. RW wasn't a natural pocket passer either, partly due to his height. They had to work with him for a couple of years and also design the way the o-line worked so that he could see down field. I know they were trying to convert Kaepernick to a pocket passer too and it just wasn't happening. I respect the heck out of the guy and think he should be on a roster but he severely regressed when they told him to stay in the pocket.
How Cam Newton went was how the Carolina Panthers went that 2015-16 year. When Cam Newton was playing right and dancing and celebrating with his teammates and was healthy he could win games but he couldn't change the way he played after that as teams began hitting him and planning for his runs to the point where he was calling for officials to get some of the calls. Some of it falls on Newton himself, there comes a time where you have to adjust to moving and working within the pocket instead of tucking and running, Steve McNair for example ran less and less as his career progressed and a lot of these scrambling quarterbacks now have to make that difficult transition.
Cam's basically Daunte Culpepper. Amazing, big, run like crazy, throw for all sorts of yardage....then destroyed by injuries. Roughly the same time frame, too. 5 to 6 years.
I'ma year one panther fan, and I don't want to see Cam Newton leave us. I also want to keep certain expensive talents as well. But I believe we owe Cam his contract year....
As a Steelers fan I respect the Panthers and I am fond of them and don’t have anything against them and to see an end of era in this franchise is quite saddening. And also seeing Luke K retiring as well one of my favorite players in the NFL making an exit :(
Cash is King trucking things are starting to change in the AFC east. The Patriots are not so tough anymore, Tom Brady is aging and the game is starting to catch up with him. The Buffalo Bills might be the new leader of the AFC east providing they keep up the good work and most importantly beat the Patriots tomorrow in Foxborough.
I don’t think there’s a clear and cut way to answer that question. The obvious answer is collect enough talent and invest in veterans who can help you win. Build an O-line that can pass block long enough to have your QB make a smart read. Build you team for your QBs strengths, idk. Lol
I'm a Vikings fan, but Cam is my favorite player in the league. His way of wholesome(ish) trash talking to tilt defenses, everything he does for his community, and his amazing play just make him impossible to hate. It's sad to see him these past few years, I used to watch Panthers games whenever they were in a different time slot than the Vikes, but now I'm just afraid I'm going to watch my favorite player have a bad game or get hurt. Great video!
Ryan Purple Nintendo Eater lol what? So we went from losing with Ron to losing without him? And newsflash buddy, we promoted a random secondary coach to interim HC bc we are trying to lose out and gain draft capital
Daniel K Chicago has what the Broncos have I think the Bears should give cam a chance he’s still good and they need to get an o line to keep him healthy
As a WVU fan I kinda wish you would have mentioned Will Grier. I hope that he is able to bring the same fun to watch play to the Panthers as he did for us.

They must address the o-line, they have not had a good one since 2003.
I think the fact that they lost to the redskins has something to do with his firing
And now he the redskins coach
I like the way you defended Ron Rivera. He was not a bad coach at all. I actually learned something new from this video. That the new owner wanted to be more on analytics while Rivera doesn't like technology and was more defensive minded.
The biggest disappointment of this season has got to be the defense. They have stars on all levels, yet somehow they are just average.
What should the Panthers do?
1. Hire Jason Garrett as coach
2. Trade Cam Newton
3. Draft Jerry Judy
There will be a ton of talented picks next year.
Are you a panther fan?
I just want to say that you made an error in stating that the Panthers were the first team to miss the playoffs following a Super Bowl berth. It has happened several times. I don't know if you meant to say something else, but that particular statement is completely false
Yeah I was like what? But a simple mistake

Ravens and Broncos to.
King Ape Giants as well
Many teams have done it. It's called the Super Bowl Hangover for a reason
Both teams in SB50 missed the following year
Nelson James plus 9ers

As a Carolina fan I’m so sad
And with a state that leans more on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils in the realm of sports makes this all the more frustrating. And I'm not even a Panthers fan.
Dr4gon 360 Same
As a casual who doesn't follow or haven't ever watched a full NFL season before (more of a basketball fan) I find Cam Newton to be one if not my favorite quarter back or player in the league. And even though I haven't watch much of his game I mostly like him because of his playing style, charisma, and his personality of being a nice person from the short Nickelodeon series that I use to watch. I will also say that I like that you put the music provider in description even though you didn't show each song name there or in the video.

The Panthers aren't the first team to miss the playoffs following a Super Bowl birth at all.
He already mentioned that in the top comment, but honestly, props to that long comment man.

If I’m the Panthers looking for a good coach to replace Rivera I’m looking at either Mike Tomlin or Jim Harbaugh.
Though not QB gurus Tomlin or Harbaugh could definitely help Allen refine his decision making and bring some sort of consistency to that defence
I hope that the panthers and browns do better as soon as the nfl comes back it’s 3-15-20 as I write this
It might be another couple of years...

Aritro Nandi you are high asf. He will never be the same
Aritro Nandi I don’t understand why cam came to be known as Superman (I know he would do that thing with his hand on his chest) Marshall Faulk was the original “Superman”
Cam Newton is not a talented enough passer to play like Russell Wilson. Neither is Jackson. They had a window and they missed it. Simple as that.
Keep pounding :(

yeah the Patriots success is largely built on being in the AFC East I mean you're guaranteed 6 wins a year if you're the Patriots

Lol

His way of wholesome(ish) trash talking to tilt defenses, everything he does for his community, and his amazing play just make him impossible to hate. With a minute left in the video, I got a notification saying the panthers will seek a trade for Cam.
