Yo I know im bout a year and a half late to this party but if you remove the jet on the Jets logo the maple leaf is stylized as this edgy looking futuristic jet.
Vegas and SJ are the best IMO, I wish the Ducks would bring back the Mighty Duck logo they have on their ALT as their main and let the current 1 vanish. 😀 Good Video!
The Red Wings logo is not only the best logo in hockey, but the best logo in North American sports. It is perfection. It is so simple and clean, but so intricate in detail, just like cars are. Perfectly represents The Motor City!
My favorite logo is the Avalanche. It's actually the reason why I became an Avalanche fan as a 9 year old kid in Germany who knew nothing about the NHL and had absolutely no real connections to any of the teams. Love: Avalanche, Blackhawks, Blues, Sharks, Whalers Like: Sabres, Panthers, Kraken, Penguins, Red Wings, Blue Jackets, Stars, Jets, Senators Dislike: Bruins, Flames, Maple Leafs, Devils, Rangers, Canucks, Coyotes, Predators, Oilers Hate: Islanders, Flyers, Canadiens, Capitals, Ducks, Kings, Hurricanes Love and hate: Wild - I absolutely love the idea behind it, but I hate the way it looks I know that there is history and that some of the logos I dislike are iconic, but I ranked them based on how happy I would be if someone presented these logos for a completely new team today, ignoring the history behind those logos

FYI the Predator Logo is a Sabre Toothed Tiger. They have Large Upper Fangs. While the Arena was being built A skeleton of a Sabre Tooth Tiger was uncovered. Hence the Name and Logo.

The Blue Jackets logo is a nightmare of angles, lines, curves, shapes...it tries to do everything at once and just looks far too busy. Of the red, white, and blue logos in the league, it is BY FAR the worst.

Maybe a hot take, but I don't really love the Wild logo. I understand all that it's trying to accomplish, but I think it's really doing too much. I also don't really care for the mix of colors. To me, I don't really like red and green together outside of Christmas, and add to that the yellow, sand, and white, and it just gets a little confused. If anything, I much prefer the way it looks with their North Stars yellow + green combo. I think the design is a little too busy to look at, and it never looks entirely like a bear or like an outdoor scene at first glance. To me, a good logo is one that cuts a bold and decisive figure, and isn't one that resembles a Rohrschach Test.
Agree! It looks like a high school art project. People seem to put too much credit on its “cleverness” whereas I see it as almost a cop out an, again, as if a student designed it for a logo assignment. Last on my list or best case scenario, tied with the Ducks.
How do you rate the Panthers as a mascot and identity so low? The panther is only found is south florida and is an endangered species. Its not only uniquely south florida but also brings attention and awareness at the same time
I'm from Minnesota. There was always something that bothered me about our hockey jersey. I agree it is the sun! Thanks for your channel. It is great for me. I like Flyers and Red Wings jerseys. Of course, I am with you on the Toronto Maple Leaves. I lived in Colorado for 28 years. Avalanches happened but were not common. I never felt Colorado Avalanche represented who were.
They have some great branding to draw on, and I bet they make a change in the next couple of years (especially because the league changes jersey producers in 2024-25).
Side note: The Washington Capitals logo has the word WASHINGTON all in capitals while the word capitals is all in lower case like whatt?? LOL. Personal preference I like The Winnipeg Jets logo the most.

Never understood the love for the Red Wings logo. Yeah sure represents the Motor City, but the wings makes no sense. Its cool, best logo, hell no. I'd put Mighty Ducks logo over that, and i think that is a bit overrated.
I think the Hurricanes logo is great, but the Wild logo is my favorite design. I think the Maple Leafs is kinda a lame name and logo for a team. Even though it's patriotic. While the color red is overused in the NHL, I think maybe the Mounties would be a better one to name your team something ironically Canadian. Though I'm not Canadian so idk
"Battle of Alberta" is no contest for me. Edmonton's logo is one of the coolest in all of hockey, top 5 for me. It made a logo based on a freaking OIL SLICK look, well, slick.
Very true. I probably didn't articulate this well enough, but with how angular the perimeter of the logo is, I wish the sun would have either been eliminated or made more angular in its appearance. But I might be alone with that take :p
Most of these are pretty good picks but the one oddball for me is the Dallas Stars pick. It's just such a flat and boring logo, a D and a Star. Second worst imo, behind the Ducks which do indeed have the worst logo.

I might also be salty because it seems like LA is the only team the Wild have played this season and we lost 0-4 tonight.

To each their own! I think the Ducks logo looks very good as a shoulder patch. There's a little speculation that they could switch to something more reflective of their original brand...but we'll see :)

At first I was ok, the sun on the Wild logo is something maybe to give a -1 to, maybe. Then I realized there were only 2 teams left. WTF?? The Blues??? Their logo sucks! To be fair to some of the original teams their logos came from "golden age" art styles and they kept faithful to that when/if changes were made. This is an interesting but has very little to show you like the lightning or even don't dislike them. You barely even mention them in the video.

You later go so far to state you prefer the maple leafs and their jerseys/branding, not exactly a great review. You went out of your way to chat up maple leafs fans at a tampa game initially, only talking to lightning fans after the game. You talk about the city positively enough but the point was you do not like the lightning not tampa. You then go on to talk about how great the maple leafs fans were at a lightning game. you also were cheering for the leafs, so yeah pretty shitty proof you dont have a bias against the bolts. great receipt.
second video have some nice backhanded complement about how the jersey is nice but outdated. Also "not going to buy anything else from tampa unless they issue something I actually like... but thats a diferent story". not catty or anything dude. go on to talk shit about the logo. (do you not watch these videos or do you just not remember these biases). at 7:15 in the second video you call the alternate patterns atrocities (very kind). The whole red wing jersey toronto color scheme meme and then stating we stole the kings jerseys. later alternate jerseys are "uninteresting" per you.
bro you couldnt be bothered enough to wear a Lightning jersey in a lightning video? Listing objective statistics is not really in favor for or against a team, those are just facts. Most of what you talk about is the depth and versatility. nothing really subjective. Not getting a point for this video but its less bias than the first 2.
man still no lightning jersey in a "lightning video". you don't do that on Habs or Sharks videos. This is an interesting but has very little to show you like the lightning or even don't dislike them. You barely even mention them in the video.
