thank you for watching and for your support i really appreciate all the comments and the purchases thank you again DAN lutz and remember to check out my video on how to sharpen and maintain the lutz skinner
Saw on WC Knives (William Collins) channel today that this giant of a man has succumbed to complications of Covid and gone to his eternal reward. He will be missed in the outdoor/bushcraft community. I was fortunate to buy one of these knives in August 2020 and it is a slicing and skinning gem. It will be a constant reminder of what a Giant, Dan Lutz was. RIP
I was privileged to use that very knife to skin out a beaver in the winter of 2021. Dan, you were a great friend and I will miss you for many years to come.
Blackie Thomas informed his viewers today about the passing of Dan Lutz. This is a tragic loss for our community. Hopefully, his videos will stay up on You Tube as an enduring legacy to his knowledge and professionalism. He was a woodsman in the truest sense. RIP Dan.
Would not surprise me if you know this. Was a traditional Butcher and we knew a lot of people in corresponding businesses (factory butchers, slaughtermen ect.). You used to get the occasional guy who would insist on keeping extremely old, worn out boning knives, usually older experienced guys. After all the being ground down on electric grinders and the like they would look not unlike a slightly longer version of your knife there. Great stuff!!!
When I first saw this knife, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia from when I was kid during a couple of years of summer vacations. It reminded me of a knife that my grandfather's old friend handed me when I was a kid to help open up mussels, devein shrimp, harvest fruit, and clean mushrooms. I believed he took a broken knife and used a grinder to shape it, then fished by sharpening it by hand. He had a few knives/tools in different sizes to go around for people to help out if they want. Because large groups of people would come to help out, eat, and enjoy each other's company. I can't remember when the last time was that I thought about those summers. Simpler times back then. Thanks! Now, I have to order one. LOL!
I ordered mine today. When you make the next video on sharpening and maintaining can you add in how exactly to make the sharpening stick with the leather wrap that you showed in your live fb video? Thanks!
I just received my Lutz Skinner and I'm thrilled with it. I can be very picky about the tools I buy online and I can find ZERO flaws in this blade. From design to execution it is no doubt one of the nicest knives in my collection. I paid $87(shipping included) for this blade and would have happily paid up to $200 for it. If you're on the fence about buying this, let me help you: BUY IT!
I just use PAYPAL an order two of the knives... I did not see a place where I could enter my email or address... Please contact me in “Comments” section.
Kathleen Tague thanks Kathleen yea I’m having trouble with the PayPal you can just Private message me Dan Lutz on Facebook and send me your address and my email is Dan Lutz abnormal outdoors at Gmail.com thank you
I would love to see you actually using it ? sounds great though is there a cell # or some one I could talk to? before I buy one or 2 ? please let me know
I am a friend of Dan Lutz and have used his skinning knife several times, on beaver and muskrat mostly. I don't have any videos but I do have pictures on my instagram under this same name.
Hey Dan it’s Joe🙂 That is a very unique knife man! I have been actually watching videos on hides and how to preserve them. I definitely need to get one of these. I will be more shooting rather than trapping though😂 I’m gonna try my hand at some rabbit hides just for personal use. Can’t wait to check it out. Love the 16th stock. It will be a good foraging knife also. Go live on UA-cam! I miss the Thursday talks....
You need to get William to make this knife with his AEB-L. Would be perfect after that. Easy honing and I don't have to worry about rust from dealing with blood? Overall it looks like a winner and I wish you success for the future.
It will keep up as long as you understand that knife is just a skinner not a Bushcraft knife I think you will enjoy it Ps who did you Order it from thanks again
@@SuperGsrider from your website. Payment sent from theocdhunter@gmail.com. And yes. I Plan to use it solely on white tails and squirrels (or tree nuggets as we call them). I plan on putting it in my field dressing kit next to my WC’s “tu the bone” to test out this season.
@@SuperGsrider I got a shipping notice that it shipped. I must have 2 email attached to my PayPal account. By the way, I see your shipping from Xenia....I grew up in Vandalia, worked the trapshoot and the airshows at the airport many years, moved to indiana after college.
I live in Canada and we have lots of Knives makers. I just ordered Lutz Skinner on your website and my expectations are very high. I want a tool, not a showing knife.
