- Reviewing my Icon Airflite heltmet with extra Fliteshields.
After 2 plus years with this helmet riding on my Yamaha MT07, all I have to say is wow! Icon has managed to mix up the motorcycle helmet world while still providing a quality piece of safety gear. The interchangeable flitehields really make this helmet a customizable standout!

What do you all think is the best looking helmet on the market?

It amazes me how you take time to do a video to help others and some folks want to criticize you. That being said good video and good job on showing how to take the shield off. I am seriously considering this helmet as the helmet that I really want (Roof Desmo) is not sold in the states and no one has answered any of the questions I have about that helmet.

For anyone curious . I went down with one of these and it definitely did it’s job . I love the helmet but my only con is how tight it is getting it on . Safety wise though it kept my head safe :) it’s a bit loud but it’ll do you right .
Yeah, I noticed how tight it is to try to slip it on as well. I can't imagine doing that everyday so I have to go with another helmet
@@PeteZa92 You can go up a size in the cheek pads or down a size in the cheek pads to alleviate this issue. For example, I have an XXL helmet and the liner in the helmet is perfect but my cheek pads felt a little loose. I downsized the cheek pads to XL and I got a much better fit. I would suggest you take a look at where it's tight and make an adjustment in either the liner or cheek pads or both. If it's tight you go up a size.
Great review think you just sold me on this helmet! Was a toss up between the Bell Star and this just looks perfect.

How clear is the vision through the silver visor though? Especially at night?
I've got (basically) the same helmet.. I got the airflite moto. It came in rubatone with the moto peak visor. I've been trying to figure out if I want to buy the rest silver shield or red..
How's that rubatone, looks really greasy fingerprint.
I prefer matte over gloss, but might have to do gloss if it stays greasy

Agree %100 love my AirFlite. I do have a question I have my gopro mounted to the chin of the visor and I hate it that I can not open the visor when I am recording. I see where you have the camera mounting point but how is your camera attached? Are u using multiple arms to get the right angle? Also, how is the wind drag on the helmet with your camera mounted to the side? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
I found a long extension kit on Amazon and mount the camera around the right side just close enough to allow the visor to lift. As for drag I hardly feel the camera there! Hasn’t been an issue for me at all. Ideally I would like to get into a Ruroc Atlas as my dedicated filming helmet 👍

@Tim M Thanks! Get yourself a flexible/fabric measuring tape and just follow Icon’s sizing and measuring directions on their website! Worked perfect for me 👍

What size are you wearing? I ordered the medium . The large fit so comfy but I think it would loosen up to much. Medium is a little tight on me. The medium and the large are the same shell so you can always change the pads. Cheers to another New England rider! I’m in Rhode Island

Hey Brad! Congrats on the new helmet, I hope you enjoy! As for the airfoil, it looks like those are new and I am not well versed in there added functionality. At first glance they look to be mainly cosmetic but I can’t say for sure, they look pretty sick though 👍
They are purely cosmetic. They make the helmet a little louder on the highway though
Nice review! How can I clean the pads without start the apocalypse?
All you need to do is pop the pads out, soak them in light detergent and warm water, then ring them out and air dry them!

A plastic container/tank with light detergent, washed by hand!
Can you attach a sena to it? I love its looks. And it goes well with the Night Shift too I think, considering getting both.

What do you think of the Yamaha Niken? This is my first three wheeler and I love it! So much grip. I’ve christened it the Batbike.
I’ve had the good fortune of staying clear of the law thus far. The Niken blew my mind when I first saw it and I would love to get to ride one some day. From an engineering standpoint, it’s quite a machine!

Awesome helmet but mannnnnnn this helmet fits so damn tight. Apparently it's something, not just me, people complained about.
You can go up a size in the cheek pads or down a size in the cheek pads to alleviate this issue. @@marklarkins582 I feel like I'm going full retard here, but if your cheek pads are too loose wouldn't you opt for larger cheek pads? I'm very close to purchasing this helmet and if I end up finding the helmet too tight/loose I want to make sure I'm getting the right sized cheek pads to alleviate the issue, sorry again if this is a dumb af question hahaha

I was just thinking it's a long term review so I was hoping you did get straight to the point about the experienced, it took kinda long of you basically talking about instead of getting to the point, your camera and Mic is great the video is quite good but if you wrote long term pls get to the point

This helmet requires ear plugs. After long distances your ears will ring. Its very noisy
Get a new helmet... if you dropped it, it no longer will fully protect it
