True. I’m a trans girl myself and I’d love trans characters to be in games, but ultimately it must serve the story well. Whether it be a competitive online fps with one really good character with great load outs that happens to be canonically trans, a narrative driven visual novel with a well written character that’s canonically trans, or a game like Celeste, where the entire game is an allegory for the trans experience, those 3 are the best ways for characters of different minority groups to be well represented in games. And it’s very humanising to those groups too, as it’s not a mass objectification of different groups just forcing them into every fucking game ever like what Sweet Baby and Bridge are doing.

The issue with James Lindsey is that he will pretend to do something but attack anyone who actually does something. Luckily there are a lot of people actually fighting DEI like Corey DeAngelis and Christopher Rufo who are leading the charge in keeping DEI out of schools. The tides are shifting, DEI people are relying entirely on the trope of younger people being more left wing which is only true when you look at past culture as to why it went that way. Back in ye old times of 1900 to 1970 it was the right who mainly made cultural rules, because of this younger people would rebel and not follow those rules and therefore be more leftist.
However now the left has near domination of every entertainment medium, the schools and even now the judicial system. Young kids don't have their old right wing dad lecturing them about pot, instead they have some bright haired freak lecturing them because they called something gay. Now they don't get a detention for being caught having nudey mags in their locker but rather they get expelled for telling their mom about the hardcore c0rn books that are in the library teaching them how to do an-al. The left as for so long been expanding silently but the 2016 election broke them and they started to get extremely aggressive. The gay teacher was no longer "the funny teacher that happened to be gay", after 2016 he went rabid and became "the teacher where being gay is his entire personality and if you say anything mildly offensive he will drop your grades".
We are lucky they are so confident because even with warnings to keep quiet we all know they can't help but to brag to the world

If your minorities are all roughly 15% of the population, preferentially picking from that smaller pool almost guarantees that those who are not qualified will get those jobs. You cannot make every board of every company have 50% of a minority that represents 15% of the population.

45:42--And here's the frustration I have, as room-temp iq as it sounds. It feels so inescapable that to protest and speak up seems hypocritical when much of my life has been touched by it in some capacity.
I'm part of a volunteer nonprofit/charity that helps in my local community. We do cosplay and all that for at most pg-13 engagement. Hospital visits to terminally ill children, you name it. We do it. Since we're national, we do receive corporate money through grants and the like. I know we've gotten money from Coca-Cola.
If I decided to go downtown to my city, get the legal means to protest DEI/Bridge and quit my volunteering, I'd be SOL because we don't have any similar competitors in my area who aren't funded in such a manner. I'm not in the position to create competition, either. There's a lot of moving parts like background checks that goes into who we vet for obvious reasons.
And if it the group were to go bust, I think that would do more harm to the areas in their respective chapters than "ZOMG! THIS ORG GETTING DIE MONEY WENT UNDER! W!" Since...well, we do work in our areas with fundraising for other local non-profits/charities--if that makes any sense? I don't know if we have a market of private gig workers to help fill the vacuum.
Even in my career pursuits, I'm always paranoid that I'd be a diversity hire since I hit a lot of ESG points just by my visible innate traits. Shit fucking sucks, bro.
Also, you may want to add Mosaic to the DIE list. I came across one of the members for their DIE grant-writing programs in a non-profit networking event in my area. Mosaic handles fertilizer and some other things.
Of course these people aren't done, they'll keep doing this until either they run out of money or a certain major benefactor of theirs finally gets Mandate of Heaven'd.
That last part isn't happening for a while. They still venerate a man who caused upwards of 80 million oofs of their own people because he was basically Chinese Chris chan who chose Karl Marx instead of "Sonichu if he was a Chinese dragon".
