If you want to see Gojira live. Look at the Pol'and'Rock concert from 2018. It's one of the best live performances of any band I've ever seen.

I like the kit set up . The cymbals are very low . Normally an engineer in a studio will have a fit if the cymbals are not "ten feet " above the toms for separation.
This recording proves there are no rules .
I think I'll be lowering my cymbals back to where they're comfortable now ! Even though I'm also the engineer !

I think the lower cymbals might be a relatively recent change for Mario? I've mostly known him over the years to have his crashes and china at head height.

I watched this when it was released. We all know he can play it. It certainaiy looks like he’s actually playing it. BUT… BUT.. there are no mics and that bothers me.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t find Mario or Gojira (for that matter) to be anything special and I really don’t understand what all the fuss is about. I guess the world would be pretty boring if we all liked the same stuff.
Not dynamic at all. We call this "sound diarrhoea" in Dutch. Technically ok, but it's going absolutely nowhere.
And NO, I cant play this. It's just very bland. If this guy had tuned his kit less death metally it would have sounded better. Maybe.
