We scored some incredible conditions for our first day back snowboarding in Japan, it snowed around 10x what was forecasted and opened up a lot of fun terrain. To start the trip we decided to ride Annupuri resort and were able to access several zones that we discovered on our trip last year. The tree riding was incredible and there were also lots of natural features and drops, but the best part was definitely how deep some of the powder stashes were. I would say waist deep or more in some places, and the snow was about as dry and light as you could ever ask for.

It was so weird watching the video and only checking the date after you said: "they had a late-season"... I live in Saitama, have been bitching cause most of the runs on all of the Mt Fuji resorts are still closed so we can't go out there. Have been debating making a pilgrimage to Hokkaido but I won't get time off work this soon after new years. seriously jealous. Then again I suppose we aren't as upset as the resorts that have been closed when they should have opened over a month ago.
